It was a nice, warm day, the sun was shining, the sky was blue.

But Filia didn't notice this – because there was someone in the driver's seat that was spoiling her nice day for her. Careless driving to the extreme, or perhaps very careful, and intentional.

A loud shreaking sounded outside the car.

"Oops… Did I do that?" Xellos grinned innocently.

Filia looked in the side-view mirror at a very upset gray cat that was staring after the car with its fur on end. "You missed it," Filia supplied with a sigh of relief.

"I did?" Xellos asked, then without warning slammed on the breaks and began to drive backwards, "Don't worry, I'll get it this time."

"XELLOS!!!"

"What?" he asked in all blamelessness tone that only he could use.

"Umm, Mister Xellos?" Amelia ventured from the back seat, oblivious to the cat issue, "Shouldn't you have your eyes open when you drive?"

"If you don't like the way I drive, then you can close your eyes too."

Filia tried not to notice the way his comment made her stomach twist in three different directions. Willing herself not to let her tail appear – which could be quite painful when she was sitting down – she pulled a road map out of the glove compartment and buried her face in it.

"It reads better when the map is right side up, dragon-breath," Xellos commented helpfully.

With a sigh, Filia shoved the map back into the glove compartment without bothering to fold it first, muttering, "Namagomi."

In the back, there was more or less silence, as the individuals in the back seat were for the most part packed in too tightly to breath. It had been better when Gourry had been sitting in the front seat and Filia in the back – as Gourry took up sufficiently more space – but it had been discovered that Golden Dragons were particularly prone to motion sickness, and changes had to be made. While Filia was not suffering from motion sickness after being placed somewhere that she could see out of, she was suffering from way-too-close-to-Namagomi sickness as an alternative.

As it was, Gourry and Zelgadis were sitting by either door, with Lina and Amelia crushed between them – not that Gourry was any better for being on a side, for he was too busy dealing with Lina's elbow where it was firmly wedged into his rib cage.

None the less, Gourry wasn't so preoccupied with breathing that he didn't notice the McDonald's that they were fast approaching on a road through a town, "Hey, stop here!"

Xellos slammed on the breaks again.

There were multiple shouts as the seat belts prevented the population of the back seat from pitching forward. Filia's stomach lurched.

Just as quickly as he had stopped, Xellos started again, turning violently into the McDonald's parking lot, with an evil grin he suggested, "I think we can get to Seryun much faster if we eat in the car."

He drove to the drive-through gate, feeding on the negative feelings in the back seat. Well, it would be lunch for everyone, after all.
