Hello to all you lovely readers! You may not know me, as I usually skulk about the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew section of the site, but I'm Rae-Prite. After finish the epic and beautiful end to The Charmed Return, the last book of the Faerie Path series, I felt there were a few things that still needed to be said for those of us who hate loose ends. Therefore, here is the epilogue (part two) of book number six. Like it or not, this is how I pictured the ending. Haven't finished the series? Then don't read this till you do, as there are many spoilers, and I'd rather not get hated on for no good reason. So, whether you're a fan or not of this little one-shot, please leave a review – It would be most appreciated :) Thanks!
The Charmed Return: Epilogue Part Two
It was not long after the announcement of Edric and Tania's engagement that the Great Salamander reappeared to the Royal Family and attendants to inform them of the outcome to the meeting between the Divine Harper and King Oberon. The Salamander reported that Faerie was immortal once more, but the price had been high – to save his people, Oberon had given his own life in exchange.
The Queen, though aware of what was to take place, did shed a few tears along with her daughters, but Tania remembered what her past, princess life had told her after the defeat of Prince Lear. The King knew of the price he would pay, and it would be for the benefit of all the generations to come in Faerie, and so she took heart and did not weep much over his sacrifice.
Soon after their return to the Royal Palace, the word was spread across the land that illnesses and plagues would never again taint Faerie as long as Queen Titania or one of her descendants remained on the throne. The Queen declared that it shall be so, and if ever something were to befall her, Tania and Edric would be her successors so that Faerie would always be lead by members of the family of Aurealis.
It was but a few weeks afterward that the Conclave of Earls was called to the Royal Palace again, with Weir in attendance – after reluctantly admitting that were it not for Tania, Faerie would have been lost to Prince Lear for all time.
On that most important day, the Earls reached an agreement, and the ways between the worlds were reopened once more for all time. Four months later, with Jade, her Mortal parents and Immortal family present, Tania wed her beloved Edric, and a great celebration took place for their union.
As it so happened, on the last day of the wedding festival, Titus – step-son of Earl Marshall Cornelius – proposed to Rathina and was happily consented to. Although her heart still ached from the unrequited love of Gabriel Drake, and would always do so, Rathina had found a true friend and loving partner in brave hearted Titus. Finally, she had found the end of her long lonely road, and could begin anew on one of happiness.
Years flew by for the people of Faerie, when a beautiful announcement was heard across the land that Princess Cordelia and Master Bryn had given birth to a son, whom they named Oberon in memory of the beloved King.
Many adventures were had for Tania and Edric, both in the Mortal and Immortal world, and though heartaches befell them, contrary to the words of the Green Lady of Alba, they did find happiness in time from the sound of running tiny feet and fluttering gossamer wings. Tania would bear seven daughters, as her mother, and mother's mother, had had before her.
Edric and Tania's youngest daughter – Seventh Daughter of a Seventh Daughter of a Seventh Daughter – would be named Zara, after her aunt and Tania's dearly loved sister. Zara would grow up to possess a gift more powerful than even her mother, and have adventures more numerous and harrowing than both her parents, aunts and uncles combined.
But that's another story…
