Someday

Masamune's earliest memory of Ritsu is of his little hands, reaching.

It had been for a book—The Queen's Circus, he remembers—and whether it was for a novel on a high shelf, an editing job free from the judgment that cursed his family name, or the love of his treasured Saga-senpai, Ritsu always seemed to be reaching for something just out of touch.

It's only when he and the younger man are alone in the office long after Kisa, and Hatori, and everyone else has left, as Ritsu reaches for another manga, that Masamune stops and thinks, 'What am I reaching for?'

And so he rises from his once comfy but now hard and unforgiving chair, popping the kinks in his back and sauntering past his subordinate, reaching out and running tender fingers through his stress-frazzled hair.

'It's you,' He muses, giving Ritsu the look—the one that says 'Come home with me' without actually saying anything that Ritsu claims to hate, but there's something in his eyes that begs to differ. 'It's always been you.'

Ritsu sighs in mock-aggravation, organizing his papers and storing them safely in his bag before reaching for his coat and following Masamune out into the awaiting cold.

'Someday,' Takano ponders, watching in interest as snow clings to his coworker's auburn hair. 'Someday you'll reach for me again… And this time, I'll reach back without hesitation.'

Fin.

So I graduate in eighteen days, but the ceremony isn't until a day later, then I start my summer job the day after that. I'll be working in a water park, for anyone who is curious. I'll have to wear a visor! Woe is me~

Anyway, I told myself that the second this site allowed Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi fanfiction, I'd post something, so here I am! If you'd like for me to write more for it, please vote on the poll on my profile page so I know which fandom to update more!

And, as always, thank you so much for taking the time to read and please feel free to leave a review and let me know what you thought!

(ps. "Reach" count = 8)
