Two

Hey guys, I hope you're loving the revisions. I have decided to just shrink this all into two chapters simply because the last few chapters were extremely short and I hated it.

When the two pulled themselves apart Yugi walked back into the auditorium with a fake smile plastered on his face. He couldn't believe he just gave Yami another chance! He pushed open the door and walked in and over to Joey. "Hey Joey what's-" He didn't get a chance to finish before he was cut off by the whole band coming over to him and hugging the breath out of him. "Hey..guys…can't breathe over here" he choked out. They nodded and let go of him

"Sorry Yugi, it's just that the celebrity judge loved us so much she wants to refer us to a record company!" Yugi's eyes widened and he jumped up in the air. "Are you serious!" he screamed.

The band all nodded and looked over to the celebrity judge who was motioning them to come over to her. They smiled and ran up to her all talking at the same time. She held her hand up and they all shut up instantly. "Well guys I really loved your band and songs but I'll need to tape you so I can ask my manager about you and see what he says, you mind preforming again?" the band shook their heads and ran up to the stage.

The principal, otherwise known as the announcer looked at the judge and she told him why they were up there and he nodded, re-introducing them to the students who cheered.

They pushed Yugi's piano out on the stage and he sat down on it. "Hey Yugi, which song are we doing?" Joey asked as he put his microphone in front of him and put his acoustic guitar on. Yugi smiled at him, "Jealous" he said, Joey's and the rest of the bands eyes lit up and they smiled because that was their favorite song to perform. "You sure Yuge? You wrote that for Yami." Joey asked. Yugi nodded and turned back to the piano just as the curtains opened.

Yugi smiled as he stood up and bowed again with the band as the crowd cheered. They ran off the stage and over to the judge, who smiled and shook their hands. "I'll get back to you on this by next Friday okay?" She said handing Yugi her number. They all nodded and she walked away.

Joey put his fist in the air while shouting "Yea!" The rest of the band laughed at him. Joey's boyfriend Seto came over to congratulate them as well and offer to take them to dinner.

Yami walked past Yugi, glancing at him for a few seconds before converting his eyes away. Yugi watched Yami's back disappear into the crowd and frowned.

"Yuge?" Joey said seeing Yugi's gaze, he didn't get an answer so he waved his hand in front of his face. "Yuge, Yugi! Snap out of it!" Yugi shook his head and looked up at Joey with a smile.

"Sorry Joey, I was just thinking" Yugi said before smiling. "Well what are we waiting for? Let's skip the rest of the day and go eat!"

Yami stood in his bathroom that night thinking about everything he did and just trying to figure out why he did it. He looked at his bare chest and remembered how Yugi used to run his hands up and down it just to tickle him and make him laugh. He remembered the way Yugi would kiss him and wrap his arms around his neck to force him closer. God he missed Yugi, and he regretted everything he did he just wanted his aibou back. Even though Yugi had agreed to try again, he still felt like he had still lost him. They would have to go through a lot to get back to how they were before, but Yami wanted it more than anything. No matter what it took.

Yami shrugged, putting his shirt back on, and opened the bathroom door only to get hit in the face with smoke. "What?" He must have been in such deep thought that he didn't notice the smell of it.

"Yami!"

Hearing his name being yelled he took off down the stairs to see Atem frantically looking through the kitchen for something. The oven was opened and flames were almost completely engulfing the cabinets above it, flames extending from the mouth of the opened kitchen appliance. Smoke circled in the air, burning Yami's lungs and eyes.

"What happened?" He asked moving over to his older brother. Yami didn't notice the flaming cabinet door falling and it struck his arm causing him to yell out in pain as the fire seared his exposed arm.

"Yami watch out! " Atem said ad he pulled his injured younger brother over to him. "I don't know! It was fine and next thing I know it was on fire! Where is the fire extinguisher!?" Atem stood up and looked at his sibling, a look of pure terror on his face. Yami noticed that his arms and hands were burned as well.

"I don't know! I thought it was under the sink!" Yami exclaimed, moving to grab the phone. "I'm calling 911." He said, knowing Atem hadn't done it yet because he was the type to want to fix everything himself. Maybe they should get their smoke alarms fixed now.

Atem grabbed Yami's arm and drug him out of the house while Yami was on the phone. The two of them were hoping and praying the fire didn't spread too much more before the fire department got there.

The two waited for an agonizing fifteen minutes for the fire department. When they finally made it to the house they pulled Atem and Yami into separate ambulances, checking them for lung problems and any injuries. Both boys checked out with only minor smoke inhalation and a few moderate burns and found their way back to each other at the firemen frantically tried to put the fire out. Yami's arm was bandaged and so was Atem's arms and one of his hands.

"Maybe we should have the fire alarms fixed now?" Yami asked, looking at Atem.

"You're not very funny Yami." Atem said, smiling slightly at his brother who always tried to lighten up problems. Atem hoped and prayed they wouldn't lose the house. Where were they supposed to go if they did? How would he ever be able to clean this mess up if he and Yami lost absolutely everything?

"Boys." Atem and Yami spun around to face the approaching fireman. "We managed to stop the fire but the kitchen and living room is completely gone. As is this house isn't livable, but it can be fixed. "

Atem cursed under his voice at the man's words. "Do you know what caused it?" He asked.

"We believe it was a shortage in a wire going to your stove." The man answered.

Atem and Yami nodded, looking at each other with mixed emotions. Where were they supposed to go now? Atem sighed and sat down on the ground, feeling really exhausted all of a sudden.

Yami followed his brother's example and dropped to the ground as well. "Where are we going to go now?" He asked, deep violet eyes casted downwards.

Atem sighed and started plucking grass from the ground with his uninjured hand. "I guess we could stay with my girlfriend."

Yami chuckled and Atem looked at him with a surprised expression. "How are you laughing right now?"

His question only caused Yami to laugh even more. "You're….fucking crazy….if you think….I'm staying with that crazy….woman." He said through laughs.

Atem started laughing slightly as well. "Vivian is slightly crazy isn't she?"

Yami wiped the tears from his eyes and shook his head. "Crazy isn't the word man."

Yugi walked down the stairs and into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator and took out a soda. He placed it back on the shelf when he was done drinking a few sips and closed the refrigerator. Yami swirled around in his mind and the thought of giving him another chance still had Yugi slightly skeptical. He stared to walk back up the stairs but a knock on the door stopped him. He sighed and turned around and walked to the back door. Who the hell is that?

He opened the door and gasped. Yami was standing in front of him. "What are you doing here?" Yugi asked, glancing at the clock on the wall.

Yami sighed. "My house caught on fire."

Yugi gasped. "What? Come inside!" He exclaimed with a shocked expression on his face.

Yami stepped into the house and followed Yugi into the living room. "We had a shortage in the wiring for the stove and they barely got it out in time. The whole kitchen and part of the living room is gone, but it can be fixed. " He explained while sitting down beside Yugi.

Yugi sighed. "Yami I'm so sorry. Where is Atem? Is he okay?" He asked, taking Yami's hand in his.

"Yeah he's staying with his girlfriend and I was sort of….hoping you would let me stay here." Yami said with a small smile.

Yugi laughed and shook his head. "I guess you can. I don't blame you. I wouldn't want to stay with that crazy woman either!" Yugi knew all about Vivian and if he was being honest that woman gave him a major case of the creeps.

Yami wrapped his arms around Yugi, "I'm sorry for what I did and I thank you for you letting me stay with you" he said into Yugi's neck.

Yugi sighed and pulled away from Yami. "I still think we can work this out mou hitori no boku, but you have to promise me you will never hurt me like that again." Yugi said and Yami nodded. "We should get to bed its late" Yugi said with a smile. Yami nodded and took Yugi's hand as they both went up the stairs.

Over the next few days Yugi let Yami have some of his clothes that were too big since their house was being worked on and the stairs were still considered a deathtrap. The two had bonded even more and Yugi could tell that Yami truly wanted to make things right between the two of them. His grandpa had understood the entire situation and was fine with it as long as Yami stayed in the guest room.

This morning Yugi woke up to the sound of his screaming alarm clock. 'What did I…Oh yeah we have to go back to school today' he thought as he got up off his bed and walked over to his closet. He hummed as he got two uniforms out of the closet and put them on the bed. He put one of them on before he picked the other up and walked across the hall and knocked on the guest bedroom door. "Yami! Get your lazy ass up! We have to go to school break is over!" he shouted.

There was a groan on the other side of the door before it opened revealing Yami, only in his boxers. "Have you forgotten Yugi, that I have no…" before he could finish that sentence a school uniform was shoved at him. He stared at it for a second before he took it and looked back up at Yugi.

"You expect me to wear your uniform? Yugi I'm…" he started but was once again interrupted. "Yami it's one of Joey's he left it here. Now stop complaining and GET READY FOR FREAKING SCHOOL!" he yelled before he smiled and leaned up and kissed Yami. "See you in ten minutes" he said happily before running off down the hall and into the bathroom.

Yami smiled at his little one. He couldn't explain how happy he was that he had his aibou back. He vowed to never hurt him again for selfish reasons.

After at least an hour of getting ready and walking to school the two we're standing outside the gates of domino high. Yugi looked at Yami with a slight smile, "I will never understand you" Yugi said motioning to the coat in which Yami turned into a cape.

Yami just smirked and grabbed Yugi's hand and looked down at him. "Ready to start over?" he said with a big smile.

Yugi nodded and squeezed Yami's hand. "I love you."

"I love you so much more Yugi."
