Failing to make cookies
Rob opened the front door and walked into his family home. Giggles echoed from the kitchen and Rob smiled.
Walking into the kitchen he found a mess on the counter as his wife Jess chased and their 6 year old daughter Millie before catching her in her arms and wiping flour on her face.
Over the years Jess had gotten even more beautiful if that was even possible since she was completely beautiful when Rob had met her. Millie had Jess' hair and her face but had his eyes.
Rob stood in the doorway, watching with a small smile on his face. Millie saw her dad and ran, jumping into his arms. "Daddy! Me and mommy have tried to make cookies," she said giggling. Rob didn't even care that Millie had gotten flour all over him.
"Go get ready for your bath sweetie, mom will be up soon," he promised, putting her down. She grinned a gap tooth grin and ran up the stairs. Rob looked at Jess who was standing there watching them with a soft smile on her face. "Hey," he said.
"Hey, how was work?" she asked as Rob walked towards her. He stood in front of her and wrapped his arms around her tiny waist.
"Fine, how was your day?" he asked as he began to kiss her jaw. Jess sighed happily.
"Fine, sorry about the mess," she replied. Rob shrugged.
"Don't worry about it," he told her, kissing her neck.
"Baby I have to get Millie in the bath then put her to bed," she whispered. He sighed. "Later?" he asked, letting her go.
"Later," she promised, kissing his cheek quickly before walking up the stairs to their daughter who was waiting.
Rob looked at the mess and began cleaning up so Jess could come straight to bed once Millie was asleep instead of coming down here and cleaning up.
