Hello my lovelies! It has been more than a year since I have last updated. All I can say is life is interesting and I now have a mini me to take care of. She is perfect and quite good at distracting me! I have not abandoned this story. It just is going to take me longer to finish it. This is chapter is dedicated to lyona5! Be on the lookout for your one shot.
"You okay?" Rick asked Alexia as she strode over to him followed by Ardeth.
Alexia rolled her eyes. "Of course. Not like I just fell out of an air ship or anything!" She snapped in a teasing tone.
"Do we have a plan?" Jonathon whined. Alexia shrugged.
"We are going to get my son." Rick said giving Jonathon a pointed look. "And then we are gonna want to get out of here fast."
At this point Izzy, who had been tinkering with the sparking engine of his air ship, stopped and gave Rick an evil glare. "And how do you propose we do that hmm?" He snarled at Rick. "If you hadn't noticed this thing is filled with gas, gas! I need gas to get this thing off the ground!"
Rick gave Izzy an annoyed look as he pulled their baggage away from the wreckage.
"Where am I going to get gas around here?" Izzy continued to rant. "Bananas? Mangos? Tarzan's ass?"
"With all that hot air he's puffing, she would be working again by now." Alexia muttered to Ardeth as they continued to move their supplies. Ardeth gave her a small smile. Personally he agreed.
"Still better than my first time flying," he responded. Alexia gave him a slightly amused look before shaking her head. Ardeth had the worst luck flying.
Alexia had to bite back a full laugh when she heard Rick say something similar to Izzy who was still complaining. She moved away from Ardeth as he called down Horus and grabbed her small satchel. It wasn't much but it was her now limited supply of ammunition for her pistol.
Everyone had gathered quickly and fortunately was more or less in one piece. Ardeth released Horus again into the air as they started to enter the forest. Alexia frowned slightly as Ardeth fell into place beside her. Her thoughts were becoming muddled. Almost like a headache trying to force its place inside her head.
Time became a funny thing while they walked. Alexia simply followed along. From her spot she wasn't worried about finding any trace of anyone. They needed to find higher ground like Rick had said. From there they should hopefully be able to find some sign of where Alex was.
As Alexia followed her mind slowed. It was constantly on Ihmotep. There was a war going on her head. Memories flashed, mostly good some bad, and this desire to find a different meaning in it all. Which was absolutely ridicoulus. The man cheated on her in a past life. End of story. Right?
Alexia was jerked out of her thoughts harshly by a piercing shriek and a gun shot. Instantly her face paled and she pushed past Jonathon to get closer to Ardeth.
"Horus!" Ardeth cried as he watched his falcon fall from the air. Quickly he turned to the others. "I must go."
Alexia just stared at him, her eyes growing distant yet understanding. His people were what stood between the world and its end. But her family came first.
"Where?" Rick asked, not quite yet connecting the dots.
"I must let the other commanders know where we are." Ardeth explained.
"You can't go." Rick stated staring at Ardeth with a look of disbelief. Alexia agreed. He would never leave. The thought raced through Alexia's head. She didn't bother to correct it. She was busy listening to Rick convincing Ardeth otherwise. She hoped Ardeth didn't go. They needed his help. The moment was surreal. Like she wasn't quite there.
Ardeth nodded. "Then first I shall help you."
Alexia snapped back to the present moment. With a nod as Rick thanked Ardeth, she turned to walk ahead of the others. She couldn't face them right now. Her mind was growing dark as they got closer to Alex, and closer to Ihmotep. The thought of him made her almost smile. She was starting to grow eager to see him again.
As she walked she felt the faintest hint of a hand tracing down her cheek. It was intimate and sweet and caused her skin to prickle in pleasure. Here I come. She thought with a smile. A slightly eager and somewhat twisted smile.
This was a doozy! Review please! I am writing the next chapter as you lot read this! Cheers!
