Jim coughed softly when he breathed in a little too deeply. His half Vulcan bond mate was at his side in a second with a glass of water. "Jim... " he murmured softly, his voice, seemingly void of emotion, but the former Starfleet captain knew better. "Spock..." Jim said softly, capturing the vulcan's attention. "Yes.. Jim?" He replied just as softly, feeling the humans hand run over his own, in a gentle vulcan kiss. "Meld with me... One last time..." He murmured gently picking up the hand he'd been caressing. "But Jim.. The strain the meld will have-"
The blond cut him off with another vulcan kiss. "Do it Spock. Please." The pleading tone in his former captain's voice could not be denied. He placed his fingers on the five points of Jim's face and temple, and initiated the Meld. Almost imediately, he was hit with a warm wave of love, and every memory the two had shared. The late nights playing Chess on the Enterprise, The day Spock had died, and the day they had found him alive on Genesis, and all the emotions Jim had felt during that time.
As the link started to fade, Jim pushed one more thing through to his Vulcan's mind. 'I Love you.' Spock nodded in return as his mate closed his eyes for the last time. "I love you too Jim..." He said softly. His normal stoic facade had broken, and a few tears spilled from his eyes. He would miss his t'hy'la. His brother, his friend, and his lover. Spock gently caressed Jim's hand and stood, smiling softly. "Until the next life, T'hy'la" He whispered and stepped back a few paces to compose himself.
