A/N I always thought this would be funny, because…you know, their professions have to do with dreaming so anways…yeah. Just read the story.
Ariadne was wandering around Paris, holding hands with her boyfriend of 2 years, Arthur. Ariadne was as surprised as Arthur when he asked her out. But it all started with that kiss. It was worth a shot. He said. And that became the mantra of their relationship. It was worth a shot to go to an unknown restaurant, even if it wasn't in the best location and they saw a beautiful sunset. It was worth a shot to dance in the rain, which became their fondest memory. It was worth a shot to adopt the gray stray kitten and it became their little baby.
But sometimes it was worth it just to be able to walk around Paris together. It was these moments that Ariadne prized the most. She loved to be able to brush her hand against Arthur's at work. She loved to try to cook, then Arthur would laugh and take over. He said he didn't want a housewife, and Ariadne said she didn't want a tough guy. They worked out. They weren't supposed to, but they did. They needed each other, and each of them wondered where the other had been.
"Hey, Ari." Arthur said, nudging her towards a small restaurant. Ariadne smiled at him, then walked with him into it. It was a small Thai place.
"It's new." Ariadne noticed.
"Yeah. I saw an ad for it a couple of weeks ago and I thought it would be-"
"Worth a shot." Ariadne smiled as she completed the sentence.
They sat down and ordered food. Ariadne ordered a Pad Thai. Arthur ordered Kung Pao Chicken. They ate in silence for a while. "It's been a while since we talked about kids." Arthur said unexpectedly.
"Yeah." Ariadne paused. She remembered it. She wanted to have them. Arthur wanted to wait till marriage. She wondered if he was going to say he was ready.
"I though that maybe..."
"Maybe what? We could have kids?"
"No." Arthur said mysteriously. "I'm talking about before kids."
"What's before kids?" Ariadne asked.
"Well..." Arthur pulled out a little velvet box. Ariadne gasped. "I was thinking maybe we could lead a life together. Ariadne, will you marry me?" Arthur, by this time, was on one knee.
"Yes." Ariadne said, sobbing as she hugged him. Then he was gone. "What?" She wondered before the restaurant started falling apart. When she woke up, she saw Arthur's grinning face above hers and she kissed him to the whoops of the warehouse.
A/N It's a little short, but you gotta admit, it's a little funny.
