Author's note: This is a just a short little dribble I've been thinking about for a while. I hope everyone enjoys it and looks forward to my other story's next chapter which should be out as soon as my beta-reader returns it to me. :)
Weird
It was weird. This feeling she gave him, it was like nothing else he had experienced before. He knew of happiness and sorrow certainly. He had never been quite as happy as he had been when he was his father, although, sometimes…when he was with her, he felt as if couldn't be happier. He was familiar with sadness as well. He had never been more miserable than when he was left all alone as a child without a word from the only parent he knew. But occasionally, that girl could say something that would shake him up completely and send him into a spiraling depression, the only cure being her smile. He knew of anger, it was an emotion he felt whenever he saw an injustice or wrong doing, particularly when she was the one being mistreated. Confusion was a feeling he partook in quite often, especially when it came to her. He scrunched up his nose in frustration as he continued to think. Everything always seemed to come back to her. Every emotion he had ever known, he had felt at one time or another when he was with her. And then there was that other feeling, that mystery emotion. It made him feel weird inside. Surely it was because she was weird, right? After all, if no one else had this affect on him, it had to be her weirdness or something similar.
As the boy sat on the bar steeped in deep thought, something he rarely did, a beautiful blonde walked up to him.
"Natsu! Do you want to go on a mission with me?" Lucy asked, interrupting his thoughts.
The dragon-slayer turned to look at her. Her chocolate eyes seemed to swallow him whole and her lips were curled into a smile that radiated light from her entire being, blinding him.
There it was, that odd feeling. It made him feel like he wanted to do something, like hold her, or just follow her around constantly. Anything as long as it was with her. The most troubling thing was that it only seemed to grow the more he was around her. When he first met her, the emotion felt more like a soft twang or pang pulling on his heart but now, it was like a tidal wave of longing rushing over him whenever he saw her. But Natsu just couldn't figure out what he was longing for. It was because of this strange sensation that he would occasionally call the stellar spirit mage weird. He didn't know how else to describe it or what he should do to explain it.
"Of course Lucy! We're a team aren't we? You're such a weirdo!" Natsu laughed at his teammate, walking over to the request board.
Lucy just scowled in response, watching his retreating figure. She hated that nickname. Compared to him and half of their friends in Fairy Tail, she was the queen of normal.
'What have I ever done to make him think I'm weird in the first place?' Lucy thought to herself, perplexed as to how her mysterious nickname aroused.
