Disclaimer: Dick Wolf owns them. You know it.

They're sprawled out on their couch, watching a movie; some cheesy comedy that Olivia's barely paying attention to. She's more focused on the woman in her arms, wondering how she's managed to get so lucky.

Alex's head is resting in her lap and Olivia is absently running her fingers through her golden hair, her stomach jumping at the contented sighs Alex probably doesn't even realize she's emitting as Olivia strokes her hair.

In the months they've been living together, Alex has softened Olivia more than she ever thought possible. She used to work 48-hour shifts sometimes, grabbing a few hours of sleep in the crib only when Captain Cragen ordered her to. Now, she can't wait to get home, share a home cooked meal and curl up on the couch with the love of her life.

She never thought she'd enjoy such domesticity.

Now, she takes the weekends off whenever she can, eager to get home to spend time with Alex, even if they're just running errands. Even grocery shopping is mildly enjoyable now, because Alex is with her, and she enjoys Alex's company more than anyone else's. Sure, it's inefficient to run errands together – it would take less time to split up the tasks and for each of them to do half, and this is something that Alex, always the practical one, would have pointed out a mere six months ago.

But Alex has changed over the past few months, too. Olivia sees it every time Alex's eyes light up when she enters the room, every time Alex flashes one of her increasingly-not-so-rare smiles, every time they sit for hours in comfortable silence, not thinking about work but about each other, basking in their shared love.

Alex looks a lot happier, too. The dark bags that used to permanently reside beneath her eyes have disappeared, and her muscles are no longer as tense as they once were – of course, this may be due to the massages Olivia gives her on a regular basis. Alex used to need to take an Ambien every night just to get to sleep, but now she drifts off peacefully every night in Olivia's arms. Alex looks exuberant now, with colour in her cheeks and the sparkle is back in her eyes, as if she's enjoying life a whole lot more than she was previously. Olivia is just happy she's able to give that to her.

She never thought she'd be able to love someone so fully until she met Alex. She wondered the moment their eyes first met where Alex had been all her life, and how she'd managed to exist so long without realizing she was missing a piece of her soul.
