Wrapped Up

By Dark Ice Dragon

Takeo frowned, staring down at his gun. He'd cleaned it already, but residue still clogged up the parts. If he didn't clean it prop-

Cool hands covered his eyes. "Think its time put that down and go to sleep, huh?"

Takeo sighed. He must have been so focused he didn't hear Tao come in. "It's still dirty." He'd cleaned his guns often enough he could still do it without his sight.

Tao's hands didn't move, but Tao's cables wrapped around his wrists and palms, holding them in place. "You do remember you're Mr. Binoccular Eyes, right? You're seeing too much, and that's not helpful here."

Takeo hesitated. "Even the smallest particles could cause a misfire." And that was the difference between life and death.

"Takeo," Tao said, easing the gun parts out of Takeo's hands, "at this point you're scrubbing at atoms. They're clean. Clean enough they won't misfire."

Tao didn't know guns as well as he did, but Tao did know data.

Takeo let go and Tao kissed his cheek. "Time for bed!"

"O - hey!"

Tao curled more cables around Takeo's legs and torso, carrying him.

"I can walk?" Tao had removed his hands at least, but it would have been awkward for him to continue doing that.

Tao grinned at him. "Weeell, you might sneak back to try and clean them again."

"I..." Takeo trailed off as Tao carried him out his room. "Where are we going?"

"My room! So you won't sneak back."

"I won't," Takeo said as Tao opened the door. He blinked, seeing M-21 glaring at the both, wrapped up in Tao's cables on Tao's bed. "...You weren't going to bed either?"

"I was training," M-21 said, still glaring.

Tao set Takeo next to wall and wedged himself in between Takeo and M-21. "An' if you do it for too long, you'll end up hurting yourself instead."

"Hng."

"Now get some sleep," Tao said, throwing an arm over M-21's waist.

Tao's cables loosened enough for Takeo to move, but not enough that he would be able to leave the bed.

Takeo exhaled, settling down. Maybe it was time to take a break. His body seemed to agree, already starting to nod off.

It wasn't long before Takeo fell asleep.

Sunlight streamed in through the window when Takeo woke up. Someone was still breathing deeply so they were still asleep.

Takeo lay there for a few seconds before getting up.

Tried to.

The cables around him tightened and eased him back to bed.

...Ah.

"The ass didn't let go when he fell asleep," M-21 grumbled.

Hm. The cables allowed him to move his arms, but once he pushed himself up, the cables stopped him.

"He doesn't sleep for that long," Takeo said, peering at the back of Tao's head. He should wake up soon.

"If he's not awake in the next thirty minutes I'm elbowing him."

Takeo smiled, knowing M-21 wasn't being serious. They always left Tao to sleep whenever he did since it was usually hard to get him to go to sleep in the first place.

It would be nice to sleep in for a while.
