"Doctor, who's this?" Amy held up a picture of a smiling red haired woman in her mid-thirties in front of the Eiffel Tower being built.

"Oh, that's, um Donna." He looked up from a copy of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and back again.

"Oh., and who was this Donna to you, exactly?" she leaned forward with a smirk playing at her lips.

He closed the book a little harder than intended and stood up abruptly from the overstuffed chair.

"We were, friends." he mumbled then sprinted over to one of the many colossal bookshelves that lined the walls of the library.

"Just friends?" She asked as she ran after him.

"Yes, just friends" He began to climb one of the rolling ladders. He stopped and looked at the Scottish girl.

"She was my best friend." he pushed the ladder to the left.

"So tell me 'bout her then." she strolled after him.

"You," he started as he looked for the novel's place.

"You would have loved her." He pushed off to the right. "She called me 'space man' He set the book back in it's place and began to just push himself wall to wall, back and forth. "Brave Donna." Push. "Funny Donna." Push. "My Donna." he grinned to himself. Push.

Amy grabbed the bottom of the ladder, jerking him to a stop.

"What happened to her?"

He descended from the ladder and faced her.

"What always happens, she left." he smiled sadly at her for a moment. "Now," he clapped his hands together changing his tone completely to a much cheerier one. "Why don't you head off to the control room and see if you can think of somewhere to go." He ruffled her hair and she gave a giggle.

"Here's your picture back."

The Doctor took the offered photograph and with the other gave his companion a small hug which she received gladly.

"Now, go on I'll be with you in just a moment, Amy."

After she was out of view he walked over towards the C's. He reached up and pulled The Complete Works of Agatha Christie and opened it. From within the hollowed book he tenderly picked up the stack of pictures and examined them one by one. A digital one when she first started traveling with him of her looking, at the TARDIS console. A Polaroid from 1970's San Francisco with her wearing bell-bottoms with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. A slightly more 3D one from when they visited Neriminonya II in 2789. When they attended Princess Diana's wedding with her in a 'fabulous dress' as she described it, and those were only a few. He placed the Eiffel Tower picture in with the rest before taking out his favorite. A watercolor that he did himself, A painting of wonderful, smiling, beautiful Donna.

His Donna.
