So I found out that SCL Project released a new album (Diamond Lily) after five years and I thought, well, why not make a comeback too?

Fleeting Moon Flower

Final Part

Miku drove to Len's house the next day to pick him up personally, for multiple reasons. The main one being that she wanted to check up on him after that disastrous dinner, the other being that he didn't know where exactly their new MV was going to be filmed. But mainly the first one.

When she knocked on the door, Rin was the one who answered.

"Oh, Miku! Good morning," she said. "If you're looking for Len, he's already at the studio. He got up really early and told me he wanted to be ready to film and look over a script or something."

"Really? After yesterday?" Miku blinked, surprised. She didn't expect him to be so eager to work - in fact, she expected to find him holed up in his room.

Rin smiled, a little sadly. "My brother is like that, you know. He never did like to reveal his true feelings, and now that he has work to throw himself into, those feelings may never see the light."

Miku said nothing, thinking hard. She had told Kaito and Gakupo that she'd swing by to pick them up as well, so they probably weren't at the studio yet.

"I need you to promise me something, Miku." Rin's voice drew her out of her thoughts. "Please take care of my brother. I can't be there for him as much as I want to be, so..."

She smiled and hugged Rin, giving her a squeeze. "I promise. Don't worry about a thing." She pulled away and held the younger girl at arm's length. "You just look forward to our music video, okay? It's going to be a good one."

Rin laughed. "Of course!" She waved Miku off with a genuine grin on her face.

After Miku picked up Kaito and Gakupo at their apartment, it was time for the moment of truth. Miku bit her lip nervously as she drove to the studio, getting confused looks from Kaito and Gakupo.

"What's wrong with you?" asked Gakupo.

"Is something the matter?" asked Kaito.

Miku merely rolled her eyes at how oblivious they both were and didn't even bother dignifying that with a response.

At the studio, they were greeted by a cheerful Len, who was surrounded by piles of fabric and papers.

"Morning everyone!" His eyes were wide with excitement. "Um, I've been looking at our costumes and putting any finishing touches, and then I started looking over my script because I've never really acted before and I wanted to get everything right, and before I knew it I was swamped with everything, and-"

Miku laughed aloud with relief. "Oh, Len. It's totally okay to be nervous. Here, let me help you." She started gathering excess fabric to put back in the workroom. Taking her cue, Kaito and Gakupo also went to pick up Len's papers and found their own scripts mixed in.

"Hey, why is my part here?" Gakupo held up a paper marked in purple. "And here's Kaito's as well," he added, tapping a paper covered in blue.

"O-oh, I, um..."

Kaito's hand landed on Len's shoulder, making him jump. "There's nothing wrong with looking over our scripts too. I do the same thing."

Before the situation could get any more awkward, Miku cleared her throat loudly. "So, shall we get to the set? I think you'll like it a lot."

She ushered everyone out of the studio and back into her car before they could object.

Len couldn't believe his eyes when they rolled up to a gorgeous mansion. His jaw was so low that Miku reached over and shut it for him, grinning from ear to ear.

"So, what do you think?" she asked, eyes twinkling.

Len walked away from the car through the garden in front of the estate, stunned. "It's beautiful." The he spun around with an incredulous glare. "Miku! When you said you were working on the set, I thought you were building it, not buying an entire mansion!"

Since Miku and Gakupo were both doubled over laughing and unable to respond, Kaito stifled his own laughter and said, "Yeah, Miku likes to rent out places like this for our videos. And, as you know, she loves doing things without telling us. Combine the two, and you've got a lovely mansion to film our video in."

Len crossed his arms. "Okay, well, I'm still a bit mad at her for springing this on me. I'm happy to film in a place like this, but I'm still mad. How are we going to do this, anyway?"

"Allow me to explain that," said a mature voice from behind him. Len turned around to see an elegant, dignified woman standing behind him. With her modern-looking kimono and large fan covering her face, he was a little intimidated by her until she lowered the fan to reveal a gentle smile.

"Sachiko!" Gakupo yelled, running to give her a hug. "It's been too long."

Sachiko hugged him back briefly before bopping him on the head with her fan. "It didn't have to be such a long time, you know. If only someone had returned some of my calls..."

Gakupo avoided her gaze and turned to Len, rubbing the sore spot on his head. "So, Len, this is Sachiko, an old friend of mine. She usually directs our videos."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Len." She extended a hand for him to take, but when he tried to shake her hand, she pulled him in for a hug. "I've heard such great things about you."

"Thanks," he muttered, voice muffled by her shirt. "I look forward to working with you." When she finally let go, Kaito and Miku stepped forward for hugs as well.

After all the greetings were done, Sachiko turned to Len. "Now for that explanation. As you know, this music video is going to be very special." Len nodded eagerly. "I've got tons of people to help. All you guys need to do is follow my directions. Filming should take no more than a month, so if we work efficiently, we can have this thing out soon."

"Yeah!" Len beamed at her. "I'll do my best."

Sachiko and Miku exchanged a pleased glance. "You're right, he is adorable. Anyway, come meet my assistants. You'll be working closely with them as well."

Two identical people around Len's age appeared at Sachiko's side out of absolutely nowhere. Len decided that asking questions wouldn't really help.

"I'm Mizki," said the one with longer hair.

"And I'm Yuuma," said the one with shorter hair.

"They're twins, just like you," Sachiko explained. "I'd like for you guys to be friends. Yeah, it's a little hard to tell them apart at first. You'll get used to it."

Yuuma bounded forward and linked his arm with Len's. "We're gonna get along so well, I just know it! I'm usually behind the cameras and helping to direct."

Mizki went to Len's other side more slowly. "I do cameras too, but I like stage direction more. I'll be telling you which way to walk, which camera to look into, how to pose, that kind of thing."

"Sounds good to me. Nice to meet you guys."

Before Len knew it, they started the long, hard task of filming an extended music video. Who knew acting was such hard work? The others made it look so easy. Kaito's natural talent and Gakupo's charisma made it seem like the cameras were drawn to them. Len couldn't help but wonder if he could ever catch up to them. Miku's gentle encouragement from behind the cameras did little to help his anxiety.

After one particularly tough day of filming, Len grabbed a water bottle to take a break, still in costume. The twins casually sidled up to him.

"Yo, Len," one of them greeted him. Probably Yuuma, whose hair had been dyed a bright red. He seemed to like changing his hair every other week. When they met, it was black. Then it was light pink. Now red.

"What's up?" said Mizki. She kept her hair black, much to Len's relief. It would have been so much harder to identify them.

"Nothing much, just tired."

"Yeah, that was an intense scene, right?" Yuuma stared at the courtyard. Len followed his gaze to where Kaito and Gakupo were talking with Sachiko and Miku.

"They're great actors, right?" Mizki commented. "We've worked with them on videos before."

"Yeah, they're amazing." Much better than I am, Len added in his head.

As if she'd read his mind, Mizki patted his shoulder with a smile. "You know, I still can't believe it's your first time acting. You've been doing such a great job."

Yuuma beamed at Len's shocked expression. "Seriously! I mean, you're practically a professional. You hardly ever forget your lines, you follow stage directions perfectly, and you're a pleasure to work with. Couldn't ask for anyone better."

Len blushed happily and looked away. "Stop it, you two. Flattery will get you nowhere."

Mizki linked arms with him while Yuuma threw an arm around his shoulders.

"But we mean it. What, you don't believe us?" Mizki teased him gently while Yuuma laughed, making Len giggle a little.

Sachiko glanced over at their little group. "Looks like they've been getting along well."

"I knew they would," Miku said smugly, sneaking a glance at Kaito and Gakupo. Their faces were frozen in smiles, but she could see uncertainty in their eyes.

As if their feet were moving on their own, Kaito and Gakupo walked over to join Len and the twins.

"What's going on over here?" asked Kaito with what he hoped was a friendly smile.

Len pressed his lips together to stop from giggling. "Oh, Mizki and Yuuma were telling me about how awful video editing is. Somehow they manage to make it work on two separate computer systems, can you believe it?"

"Yeah, with two of us working at the same time, it goes so much faster." Yuuma nodded.

"But sometimes we'll look over and see that we were working on the same part at the same time!" Mizki rolled her eyes.

"Then we actually compete to see whose edit is the best, and I beat her every time."

"Excuse me?"

They started arguing, much to Len's amusement. He met Kaito's and Gakupo's eyes, grinning at them. When they didn't smile back, the grin dropped off his face.

"Is something wrong, guys?"

Gakupo forced an awkward smile and nudged Kaito. "No, no. See you later." And they walked away, much to Len's confusion.

"...I don't know why, but I feel like those twins shouldn't be hanging around him like that," muttered Kaito, looking upset.

"Well, we've only got a few more days of filming. It'll be fine," was Gakupo's reply.

Miku, watching this entire exchange, said, "See what I mean?"

Sachiko shook her head, amused. "Wow, they are a handful."

And just like that the filming came to an end.

So. Um. It's been a really long time, huh? Several years, just like that. But now I'm back with irregularly scheduled chapter updates :D I've got a lot of ideas to continue this fic, so hopefully you'll enjoy it. It'll be a bit different than before, probably...I mean, it's actually been 6 years since my last update.

Thanks to everyone who has favorited/followed, left reviews, and even sent me messages during my long absence. You're a huge part of the reason why I came back. You have no idea how much I appreciate you.

The next chapter is the music video, which is gonna be a lot of fun~
