This is one shot of a Uncle's version of Mother knows best from Tangled, I don't own either Tangled or Avatar the last Air Bender but couldn't help in doing this. Enjoy! :)

Zuko looked outside the portal window reminiscent of his life before his banishment. It was his birthday today, age sixteen and third anniversary of his expulsion from the Fire Nation with the orders to find the Avatar and regain his honour. His Uncle entered his room holding a basket with a few trinkets such as Pai show tiles and a tea set "Ahh nephew here you are what a beautiful day isn't it?"

Zuko glanced at the fire nation banner hanging on the wall and answered "I guess. Uncle I was wondering if I could ask you something."

Iroh didn't cease his tea making instead answering "Of course."

Zuko inhaled then said "Well for my birthday I would like..." he mumbled off "Well what I've wanted for the last three years."

Iroh sighed "Nephew don't mumble you know I can't understand mumbling."

So Zuko burst out "I want to visit home."

Iroh paused then tapped his chin "Nope I don't think we'd make it in time. And besides your father gave you a mission."

Zuko said "If we open up the engines we'll be there at sunset. Please father would allow a quick visit."

Iroh sat down the teapot "You want to go home? Zuko look at you, young as a baby dragon, still just an egg not yet hatched. You know why we stay out at sea. That's right to go on your quest. Soon but not here."

Zuko tried to cut in "But-"

Iroh continued "Trust me dear. Uncle knows best!" he closed the porthole shrouding the room in darkness.

Zuko lit a flame in his hand squinting trying to see as Iroh continued "Uncle knows best listen to your Uncle it's a scary world out there." He crept out of the darkness scaring Zuko before disappearing again.

"Uncle knows best one way or another something will go wrong I swear!"

Zuko stumbled onto the floor as shadow puppets appeared on the wall "Watertribe, Peasants, Bounty Hunters, Tsunami's, Earth Thugs and Spirits."

He adopted a really spooky voice lighting a flame under his face "Pentapox."

Zuko gasped "No!"

Iroh grinned back "Yes! And also flying bison and Avatar with pointy teeth and stop no more you'll just upset me!"

He left his crudely painted sharp toothed Avatar with fangs on the floor to pat Zuko's shoulder reassuringly "Uncles right here, Uncle will protect you, nephew can't you see?"

Zuko hugged what he thought was his Uncle but looked up finding a mannequin wearing armour "Zuko there's hurry, don't you worry. Uncle knows best!" He twirled extinguishing all the candles in the room.

Zuko lit some candles that Iroh put back out right behind him "Uncle knows best take it from dad's brother on your own you won't survive. Angry, over dressed, too mature, impatient, please you'll get into many fights! Stubborn, naive, positively touchy, dorky and a bit hmmm obsessive. Plus I believe you're getting kind of bald." He grabbed Zuko's cheeks "I'm just saying cuz I wuv you."

Zuko rubbed his sore cheeks as Uncle added "Uncle understands, Uncles here to protect you all I have is one request."

Zuko rushed up to his finally arms open wide Uncle hugging him tight to listen to him whisper seriously "Don't ever ask to return home again."

Zuko nodded "I promise."

Uncle nodded smiling again "Don't forget it, you'll regret it. Uncle knows best!"

Zuko sat down as his Uncle folded his arms "Now I asked the Chef to make you a cake, and here's a small gift for you, twin blades made from the best swordsman in the Fire Nation. How about some tea and a game of Pai show?"

Zuko groaned at his Uncle's predictably but smiled slightly anyway accepting his twin swords and playing the first move of Pai show anyway setting his worries aside for a few moments at least.
