Cookie Crumbs

I waited for my flight in the VIP area. I bought a book to pass the time, and a pack of cookies. I sat down on one of the comfy couches, the packet of cookies on the right arm. A man sat down, I looked at him from the corner of my eyes. He had bronze hair, and emerald eyes. I opened the packet of cookies and I got one, when I did the man also got one. I bit my lip, so I wouldn't make a scene and shout at the rude man. Every time I got one, the man also got one. Until there was only one left.

I wondered what this abusive man, is going to do now. He got the cookie and evenly split it, He gave the other half to me. That was the last straw, and I angrily got up to board my plane. I sat down on my seat, and sighed. After awhile I put on my seat belt, and the plane took off. I opened my purse to get my Ipod when I saw the cookies, untouched and unopened.

I realized that I put the cookies in my purse. Humiliation washed over me, as I thought of the man who willingly shared his cookies with me, without bitterness or anger. The worst part was that I had no way to explain or to apologize.

There are four things, you cannot take back.

A stone, after it's thrown.

Words, after it's spoken.

Occasion, after the loss and…

Time, after it ended.
