Chapter 14

"So, what do you think?" Raimundo opened his arms so that the old man and the dragon could have a good look at it.

"You are most elegant, Raimundo." Master Fung confirmed.

"Yeah, great suit. You know, you're pretty lucky. Most of the boys don't have their friends' mothers buying them expensive suits."

"I know. She was very nice. But I'm considering giving it back to her. I mean, why would I keep on needing this suit?"

Dojo thought about it. "True…"

"Well, young monk, we shall leave you alone now. Take of your suit and go meet the others. I believe they are outside."

"Sure thing, Master Fung."

Kimiko peeked from a corner, watching Master Fung and Dojo leave Raimundo's bedroom. As soon as they were gone, she approached the door. She opened it slightly and looked at Raimundo. There he was, in a dark blue suit, checking himself out in the mirror.

The Japanese girl blushed. He looked amazing. The suit was so simple, yet sophisticated. Damn, was Raimundo hot!

"Hum… Hey, Jackie, how's it going?…No that's not it…" the tanned boy mumbled. Kimiko narrowed her eyes. Raimundo was practicing what he was gonna say to… her, that bitch they knew as Jack Spicer. Kimiko wished she had killed her that time. She would once again have a chance with Raimundo and everyone would still like her, for it would have been an accident.

But no. She had to resist her attack and live. Well, Raimundo kinda helped. He was the one that saved her. How he knew what was gonna happen was beyond her.

Her thoughts were soon interrupted when the door knob that was right in front of her face started turning. She ran away and turned the corner just in time. Raimundo didn't notice her, but he looked around suspiciously, as if he knew someone was watching him. But he soon shrugged it off and directed himself to her room. This was her chance.

Raimundo entered the room and Kimiko followed him. By the time she reached the door, he was putting something in her drawer.

"What are you doing here?!" she asked, pretending to be angry.

"Oh hey Kimiko. I just found a pair of pink panties in my closet, so I came here and put them back."

She crossed her arms. "Don't try to fool me, I bet you stole them."

Rai smiled at her. "It doesn't matter. I gave them back, so everything's alright."

"No, it's not! You stole my underwear, Raimundo, and that's just sick!" now she wasn't pretending to be mad anymore. She really was mad.

"Okay, it's sick, and it would be even sicker if I didn't give them back, but since I did, it isn't!"

She stared at him for a moment. "What?"

He rolled his eyes and approached her. "Look, I gave your panties back, so there's no need for you to be so mad about it." He patted her on the shoulder. "Let's just go. Dinner must be ready in a few minutes." That said, Raimundo walked away, leaving a pissed off Kimiko behind.

This was going from bad to worse. Now Raimundo wasn't even interested in her panties. He was actually being loyal to Jackie.

Now she really wished she had killed her. But now that she couldn't, she had to move on with her plan. The only flaw in it was that she still hadn't found someone willing to kiss Jackie Spicer and be able to seduce her at the same time. But she would find that someone, and then she would finally manage to break them up. Permanently.

Jackie's hands couldn't stop shaking against her knees. She sat still on the couch, watching as her father walked from side to side, asking her questions.

"Has your mother been keeping you in the room?"

"Yes, sir."

"Oh, really? Then care to explain how did all those robots and machinery appear in my basement?"

Jackie gave him a panicked stare and then sighed.

"Okay, she doesn't always keep me locked. I asked her to let me have some fun in the basement and she agreed, as long as she could watch me."

"I see." He said. "Tired of that little animal talking nuisance, are we?"

She quickly stood up and yelled without meaning to. "It's not a nuisance, it's friendship! They're the only friends I've had since I'm five thanks to your obsession of keeping me away from every single boy in the world!"

Jessica stared at her daughter, fearing the worst. Harold just stood there, glaring angrily at the pale girl. When Jackie finally realized she snapped, she placed both her hands on her mouth and looked at him, scared.

"Sit down." He ordered, calmly yet dangerously.

She obeyed without another word. The fat man resumed his pacing.

"You know, Jackie, for once, I agree with you."

"Huh?"

"You'll have to meet a man sooner or later. So I have decided that you shall no longer be trapped in that room."

"Really?" Jackie couldn't believe it. Her father was actually letting her go. She was finally free. This had to be a dream!

"Yes. From now on you are allowed to be around the house and outside whenever you want. You have never met a single boy, and now it's the best time for you to start."

The girl smiled. Maybe her father wasn't that bad after all. "Thank you, father…"

"Well, one matter is taken care of. Now let's move on to the next topic." The large man approached his bag and took a package from it. "This is for you to wear tomorrow." He handed it to the redhead. "I want you to try it on so that we can see how it looks on you."

Jackie took the package, astonished. Freeing her? Giving her presents? Who was this man? This isn't the ugly son of a bitch she knew as her father. This was someone else.

"Okay…" she walked towards the bathroom and opened it. Her eyes widened in awe.

Jessica looked at her husband in fear. She wasn't counting on him coming that night. She was sure he was only coming the next day. How dare he come unannounced? He should have at least warned her!

"You seem quite tense, Jessica. Is there something you're not telling me?"

"N-no, Harold. You know I would never keep any secrets from you."

"True, but there's a first time for everything."

"Yes, I guess there is…" she giggled nervously. The raven haired man, however, didn't even send her a smile. He sat down on the couch across from her and gave her a stern look.

"Stop lying to me. I know everything."

"W-what?"

"I know about her and the boy. And you have been helping them. Sirilis couldn't be anymore furious."

The blonde woman's look turned into anger.

"The pact you've made with him is tearing Jackie apart. Can't you two see how miserable she is?"

"She's not half as miserable as she would be if she stayed with him. This pact was for her own good. Now instead of living in the depths of Hell she's living here where she can get married and have children and see the world."

"No, Harold, this pact isn't for her own good. This is all about that damn prophecy. All Sirilis wants is to get more power from this, don't you get it?!"

"I get it very well, thank you. Why are you so concerned? He's giving us immortality for this. Can you find anything better than immortality?"

"Yes. My daughter's happiness."

"She is not your daughter, Jessica. And her happiness is in my hands, not in yours. Now I have to undo the mess you've done."

The woman stood up in anger after hearing such words.

"You call Jackie's happiness 'mess'?! And what do you mean by 'undo'?! Things are perfect the way they are!"

"No, they are not. This romance between her and that boy has to end. And you better not try to stop me. Or would you prefer having me sending you back to the dirty streets of New York, where all you could do was sit on the floor and hope that someone would be kind enough to give you a quarter?"

Her baby blue eyes widened. She knew he was capable of doing such an insensitive thing. In situations such as these he was true to his word. She couldn't say anything else. He had won the conversation. For now.

"How do I look?" The redheaded girl asked as she walked into the living room. She was wearing a long dark red dress, which hugged her body tightly, emphasing her curves. A dark sash was tied around her hips, not too tight, but not loose either, just… perfect.

"I knew it would look good on you. Perfect fit."

Jackie blushed. Now he was giving her compliments. Who was this man?

"Well, Jessica, what do you think?" Harold looked at his wife, smirking. She narrowed her eyes at him, then gave her daughter a sweet smile.

"You look great, honey. You'll be shining in that dress tomorrow."

Jackie's smile grew wide. She liked the dress too. It was comfortable and beautiful, and it matched her eyes and hair. She just loved it.

"Now, go undress it, sweetie, and put it in your closet, okay?"

"Sure." The teenager ran upstairs to her room, once again leaving the two adults alone.

The fat man looked at his wife.

"Her mother's dress looks good on her, doesn't it?"

"How in Hell did you get it?"

"Sirilis gave it to me. She looks just like Ilje, doesn't she?" He sent her a last malicious smirk before turning away and leaving.

Jessica's hands formed into fists. He was ruining everything.

An eagle and a squirrel stood at Jackie Spicer's window, watching as she wrote something on a piece of paper. The redhead stood up and wrapped the white leaf around the eagle's paw.

"Okay, Victoria. You know what to do, right?"

"Yes, deliver this to your boyfriend, at the Xiaolin Temple."

"Good." She looked at the squirrel. "Rodney, I know you feel unconfortable travelling with an eagle, but I made Victoria promise she won't eat you."

"Still." The orange colored animal answered. "I don't trust her."

"And I don't usually trust a crazy squirrel to take a ride on my paw, but I'm letting you, ain't I?"

"Still."

Soft pale hands picked Rodney up and approached him to Jackie's pale face.

"Rodney, please, do this for me. Raimundo has to know we can't meet today, or we're gonna be in big trouble. Please, Rodney."

The squirrel's eyes turned into an expression of guilt. "Oh, alright. But if she eats me, I'm gonna be reeeeeaally mad at you, Jackie." He held on to the eagle's paw and they took off.

The two animals arrived the temple and looked around. There was no sign of the boy and they had no idea where they could find him. That is, until Rodney spotted him through a window. There was just one problem. There were other people in the room. How were they gonna deliver the message to him without having anyone reading it too?

That's when Rodney had something he didn't usually have. An idea.

"Wait here, kay?" the squirrel said and leaped from the eagle's paw.

"Raimundo, why can you not take me to that party?"

"For the last time, Omi, you weren't invited! Only people that are invited can go."

"But I like parties…" the short monk pouted.

"Aww, relax, lil' buddy. There are other parties you can go to." Clay said.

"Yeah. We could throw a party whenever someone's birthday is up, okay?" Kimiko suggested nicely, trying to calm her friend down. The younger monk smiled, happy to know there would be other parties.

"So, Raimundo… tell us about that girl whose party you're going to." The texan boy asked. "Is she pretty?"

"Pretty? She's the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Hard to believe we're just friends."

"Yeah, hard to believe…" Kimiko muttered. She was about to serve herself one more bowl of rice when she saw a squirrel approaching the food. "H-hey! Shoo! Go away!" she yelled at it, trying to scare it.

At hearing his friend's yelling, Raimundo looked at her side and spotted the little animal. "Chill, Kimiko, it's just a squirrel."

"Yeah, and it's trying to contaminate our food!"

Raimundo could have sworn he say the squirrel's eyes widen and tail stretching before it started making lots of funny sounds that squirrels usually do. The act made Raimundo immediately recognize it. It was Rodney.

"Fine, I'll put it outside." He stood up, grabbed the little animal by the tail and left the room.

Now sitting on Rai's shoulder, Rodney kept on complaining while rubbing his tail with his little paws.

"Sorry, but what else did you expect me to do? Grab you slowly and show everybody that you already know me?"

The squirrel looked up and talked a little more. Raimundo got the hint and looked up as well, spotting and eagle flying in circles.

"Wait. Don't tell me you got all the way here trying to run away from that bird!"

Rodney smacked himself on the head.

"No? Then what?"

The orange colored animal lifted his arm and pointed at it. Raimundo did the same with his right arm. "What, like this?"

Before he knew it, the eagle had landed on it, taking him by surprise. "Holy shit!"

Rodney rolled his eyes and approached the eagle. When he reached it's paw, he started scratching at the little paper around it. Raimundo untied it and started reading it.

Dear Raimundo

I know we were supposed to meet tonight, but you can't come. My father came home earlier and he's here right now. If he catches us, we're gonna be in big trouble.

I'm so sorry about this. But he's only staying temporaryly, so we can start meeting again as soon as he's gone. Until then, I guess we'll only see each other at showdowns. Kinda makes you sad, doesn't it?

Love you,

Jackie Spicer

Raimundo sighed. He was eager to see his girl, but he had to admit, it has been a few nights since they both got some rest. Maybe it was all for the best.

He looked at the squirrel. "Okay, Rodney, I need you to tell Jackie that I received her note and that I love her too. Can you do that?" The squirrel nodded and set himself on the eagle's paw, ready to take off. The tanned boy pushed his arm up to give them some impulse and they flew away.

He chuckled. "A crazy squirrel taking a ride on an eagle's paw. And I thought I've seen everything."
