Disclaimer: I do not own KND. All I own is the plot. Sorry for any errors. This takes place 2 months before Kuki's 16th birthday. Everyone else is 17.

Nigel, Hoagie, Abby and Wally walked into their underground base, tired after a long mission. They were all wondering where Kuki was, they really could have used her help.

"Has anyone heard from her?" Nigel asked his team as they all sat down in their living room area.

"No," the other three operatives answered.

"I wonder where she could be," Wally said. "This isn't like her."

"When was the last time you talked to her?" Hoagie asked.

"Last night, around eight, but we didn't talk long. She said she was really tired and she was feeling nauseous. She figured if she got some sleep she would be fine in the morning."

"Abby doesn't think she's fine." The three boys looked at her, waiting for her to continue. "She would have called or texted by now."

"Maybe you should call her," Nigel suggested to Wally.

Wally nodded and pulled out his phone. He pressed 1 and waited for it to ring.

"Aww, Wally's got her programmed as number one on his speed dial," Hoagie teased.

"They've been dating for a while now. Leave the boy alone," Abby said as she smacked the back of his head.

"Ow," Hoagie complained as he rubbed the spot where Abby hit him.

"Put it on speaker," said Nigel.

"Kay," Wally said as he pushed the button.

"Hello?" asked a raspy voice after a couple of rings.

"Kooks?"

"Yeah?"

"Are you okay girl?" Abby asked. "You sound awful."

"No. I'm -" she started, but was cut off by having a coughing fit.

"Wow," said Hoagie. "That sounds really bad."

"Where are you?" Wally asked his girlfriend.

"I'm at the base."

"When did you...?" Nigel trailed off.

"I got here after you guys left. I was trying to get here before that, but being sick kind of slowed me down."

"You do realize you wouldn't have gone with us, right?" Nigel asked her.

"Guys?" Hoagie asked.

"Yeah?" they all answered.

"Why are we still talking to Kuki on the phone when she's right down the hall?"

Wally opened his mouth to answer, but then closed it again. "I have no idea," he finally said.

"Just come to my room," Kuki laughed.

"Okay."

They hung up and the four operatives headed down the hall to Kuki's room and opened the door.

"Kooks, you look terrible," Wally said as he walked over to his girlfriend's bed and sat down next to her.

"Gee, thanks, Wally. Girl's love hearing that," she replied.

"I don't think he meant it like that," Hoagie said, defending his friend.

"It doesn't matter. I know I look horrible. I hate being sick," she pouted.

"Come here," Wally said, wrapping his arm around her shoulder, her head resting in the crook of his neck. "Even when you're sick, you're still the most beautiful girl in the world."

"Really?" she asked with a small smile as she pulled away to look into his eyes.

"Really," he said and kissed her forehead.

"Awww!" said Hoagie.

"Boy, you just ruined a perfectly good moment," Abby said, smacking him again. "What is wrong with you?"

"Ow!"

Nigel just shook his head. His team was crazy, that was for sure. He couldn't help but smile a little bit when he glanced at Wally and Kuki, though. Hoagie was right about them being cute, but the boy really needed to learn to keep his mouth shut.

Not too sure about this one, but it was bugging me so I had to write it. I hope you liked it. Tell me what you think. :)
