My Note: OK, here goes my first attempt at an Avatar: The Last Airbender fanfic. So please don't criticize too harshly. I'm open to suggestions and criticism as long as that criticism doesn't include, "You suck!" Or anything related to that. Thanks! Read and Review.

An ocean blue, shining like no other. Sparkling under the mid-day sun….How gorgeous it is….The bronze landscape caressing the ocean waves. A rare beauty not many ever get a chance to see. How lucky it must be, for me to live here day-by-day.

This island…This bay…This village…All so carefully designed, it seems by the Great Spirits themselves. Oh, how I would do anything to receive the power of conversing with the Spirits. Just to thank them for their beautiful masterpiece.

"Crashing waves make space and move aside, for I now choose to reach the surface." My request was heeded and now I can finally feel the gusty winds upon my terrifyingly, sharp-spiked back. Gusty?...Why ever are the winds so strong and passive. Even when a great storm approaches, the surface air does not grow so strong.

The air…the winds…their patterns have not been disturbed for many years. At least, not since the 'Air Dissarrayers' have blinked their eyes. Since not a single one more remains, how can this sudden air difference be explained? Unless...

Oh Great Spirits...The boy has returned. I once heard tale of him from the strange fish by the South Pole. A giant iceberg sitting frozen at the bottom of the ocean. Inside, the contents remained alive and hidden. Perhaps, this is the same boy of which they speak? Maybe he will help to heal this world instead of destroying it like the 'Fire Slayers'. "Wind, air..Speak to me. Has a boy crossed your path. One filled with shame, perhaps. Shame for leaving at an early time. One filled with power. Speak now...For I, Unagi..Seek the answer." My ears now perched, beseeching the sounds and notes of the clever wind.

All seemed well, until one sudden note pitched high and loud.

Yes. The wind is certain. The boy in the iceberg exists. And he's heading straight for this wonderful place. The Kyoshi Village.

My Note: Yes, I know it's short. But this is only the 1st chapter. Read and review please!
