She twirled and twirled – the blade shearing at the surface – before letting herself glide over gracefully over on the frozen pond. /lucy-centric
She can hear the constant 'beep' of her muggle alarm clock in the distance, but her mind was here now. A landscape of light, fluffy snow with the colours of the aurora still intact - the sun doesn't seem to be rising anytime soon. She can feel the gusty wind on her bare arms as she reaches out to touch the never-ending sky. She knows better, yes, but this is her world – where no one can reprimand her of her foolishness and childish ways – and she likes it here.
Lacing up her boots – taking precaution of the blade underneath – and went out to the surface of the frozen pond. She stepped uncertainty unto the naturally, uneven pave of the ice – nearly falling over – and balanced herself steady before letting her feet skate over.
She twirled and twirled – the blade shearing at the surface – before letting herself glide over gracefully on the frozen pond. Twice, did she fall over – proving her imperfection and less-than-masterful defeat of the sport itself – and she felt the pain, quite vividly, if she remembers it clearly.
then, of course, the sun rises over the last wisps of the aurora – her dream ending as her mum shook her awake. She knew she'll be back, though, to the land of snow and the vivid touches of the sky's aurora – and the frozen pond waiting – until the time comes for her to find her way back to her peaceful sanctuary.
