Really... random

"It's really quite amazing what this little stick can do," Kushina murmured, observing the wand with wide curious eyes, "It doesn't look like much, but I bet it's a great weapon!"

"It's not a stick," Lily said with a bit of amusement, waving her wand around so the other red-haired woman's eyes would follow it, "It's a wand. They are for witches and wizards to focus their magic," She smiled, "And I'm not really quite sure that it's the wand's doing. Normally, it takes a potion to translate entire languages."

"Witches and wizards?" Kushina blinked, looking thoughtful, "What an interesting life you must have had!" She looked excited, much to Lily's amusement.

"Not as half as exciting as a ninja!" Lily laughed it off, offering her hand to Kushina, "It was interesting to meet you," She said, "But I need to continue on. I have to meet James." She said wistfully, wanting to go forward into the afterlife to reunite with her husband.

"And I suppose Minato's waiting for me, too." Kushina nodded with a soft smile, touching her hand to Lily's and to their shock and amazement, as soon as they touched hands, memories of each other's life flashed behind their eyes.

The next few moments were filled with silence.

"It seems we're more alike than just our red hair," Lily said softly, "A demon fox? But I'm sure that your son will be okay." She reassured.

"A snake man?" Kushina twitched, looking irritated, "Reminds me way too much of Orochimaru!" She huffed, though her expression melted into a warm smile, "And your boy will totally kick that snake's ass!" Kushina pumped her fist, not seeing Lily's slightly surprised look at the suddenly tough attitude.

"Goodbye, Kushina. It really was lovely to meet you!" Lily said, fading into the background and sighing happily as arms lovingly wrapped around her, "Oh, James..."

"Same here!" Kushina laughed, feeling something warm nuzzle into her neck and a hand caress her long red hair, "Minato, I missed you."

And they knew it was their sons' tough fate that bonded them in the afterlife...
