Clary, much to her annoyance, woke when a small beam of light managed to creep its way up to her eyes. She turned her head out of the light with a small groan as memories from last night flooded through her mind. She thought of Jace's hands on her waist moving up to her face as he cupped her face lightly right before his lips met hers.

Jace.

She sat up quickly and looked around. How had she not noticed his absence sooner? She was about to get up when the door was pushed open. His hair was tousled and her heart skipped a bit when he smiled at her. The light from the window seemed to make his hair glow.

Suddenly, Clary was aware of her lack of clothes and she drew the comforter up to her chin. That's not to say Jace was wearing much either. A pair of gray sweatpants hung from his hips provocatively as he strode over to her. Her face flushed which just seemed to make Jace smile even more. When he reached her he lifted a hand to tuck a stray piece of hair behind her ears.

"Good morning," he breathed quietly. His lips hovered above hers and she felt the edges of his mouth curl up into a small smile. Admittedly, she was overwhelmed. One of the most beautiful shadowhunters she had ever had the fortune of meeting was standing above her shirtless. A shirt that she removed. She grinned at the thought and felt the smirk creeping across his face. Rather than give him the satisfaction, she thought it might be fun to tease him a bit

"You haven't brushed your teeth yet," she mumbled. Her breath was still raspy from sleep so the musings didn't come out nearly as controlled as she wanted them to be.

His eyebrows furrowed and he pulled back slightly, making her smirk more. Clearly he didn't think that would be her response. Right as he opened his mouth to retort she grabbed him behind the neck pulling him down to meet her. His lips parted in surprise. Clary took advantage of the situation and pushed his mouth apart with her lips, kissing him deeply. He accepted the affection immediately and leaned into her reaching up to tug the blankets down from around her.

Clary grinned, rolling her eyes and pulled back slightly to rebuke him. Rather than give her time to speak he ran a trail of soft kisses down her neck. Clever, she thought to herself. When he got to the sheets she was left with a decision.

The floor was decorated with blanket as the bed was once again filled with two bodies. Just as Jace pushed her back against the pile of pillows she pulled back again causing him to raise an eyebrow.

"Change your mind?" he asked.

"I want breakfast," she stated as calmly as she could suddenly aware of every place Jace's chest was pressed against hers.

"Is now really the best time?" He pushed up slightly causing a gap between them to form. She bit her lip and nodded slowly.

"As long as Izzy isn't cooking."

There would be time for all of that later. Whether or not the pancakes were eaten by the time they managed to find their way back to each other was another question.
