A.N: Heya peeps, just a (very) short Hurt/Comfort one-shot that just popped into my head while brushing my teeth (of all things), hope you enjoy, and if you do, drop me a review please :3 xxx

Brick wall

"MERLIN!"

It had happened as the dark-haired boy was running away from him. It was just like the idiot to not look where he was going. He'd just shouted at him for losing his favourite pair of shoes, and Merlin, like the idiot he was, had run out... and straight into a wall.

He'd watched as the small form of his friend crumpled to the ground. Honestly? Who walks into a wall of all things?

"Merlin" He came to a stop above the boy, and poked him with his toe. "Merlin, get up".

No response.

"Merlin. Get. Up."

Nothing.

"Merrrlin. Up. Now." He glared down at the boy "I am the crown prince, and I demand you get up. Now... Merlin?"

He bobbed down and turned the boy over.

His face was pale and his eyes were closed, there were not visible marks to show for his collision, but he remained unresponsive as the prince patted his cheek. Arthur felt a rush of something horribly close to fear floor through him. But that was ridiculous of course – he was the crown prince, he wasn't... worried... about his manservant... he couldn't be. But it was just...

"Merlin?"

The raven-haired boy groaned in response, his eyelashes fluttering.

"Ow" he murmured thickly.

"Merlin? You ok?" he gave his manservant a gentle shake, prompting him to open his eyes.

"Feel like I just ran into a brick wall"

"That's because you just did, idiot" He grinned.

"Dollop-head" Merlin grinned back lopsidedly as Arthur pulled him into a sitting position,

"I always knew you were an idiot with a thick skull Merlin."

And Arthur knew from the boy's responding glower that he'd be alright.
