Warnings: A few homophobic slurs, some one sided Sebastian/Blaine.

Ten Random Facts about Sebastian Smythe

1. His favourite colour is blue. Not bright blue, like the colour of the sky in France where he used to fly kites, or dark, stormy blue like the sea. Duck egg blue, because it reminds him of the tea set his Grandma used to get out when he came round. They used to spend hours playing with it together, pretending to be high lord and Queen. Sebastian hasn't seen that tea set in years.

2. When he was seven, he met the girl of his dreams. She was short and round, with small brown eyes and frizzy hair that hung in waves down her back. They used to spend hours together in school, laughing at the other girls for playing with Barbie's and other such stupid things. Things changed when she got older; she started to hang out with other girls more, wear make-up, and suddenly, Sebastian wasn't part of her world anymore.

3. He's allergic to nuts, which is ironic when you think about it.

4. Sebastian's scared of cats. He'd never admit it, but something about their slanting, harsh eyes and their aloof cold manner frighten him away. He has the same reaction when he meets Kurt for the first time, although he tries not to show it.

5. He's been bullied for being gay before he even knew what that was. Queer, fag, homo, cock-sucker; Sebastian's heard them all and then some. He'd say it bothers him, but that would be a lie. Better to be hated and jeered than overlooked and forgotten.

6. When Sebastian kissed someone for the first time, he was seventeen and beginning to think it would never happen. He was at a party with his friends, hanging around in the corner and trying not to seem overly into anyone. The boy he met there – George, he would learn later, but he wasn't to know at the time – had taken his hand without a word, leading him up the dim stairs and kissing him clumsily, their bodies made slow by drink. Later, Sebastian won't remember the soft pressure of the other boy's lips against his own, or the tongue pushing its way into mouth, or even the weight of George's arms around his neck. He'll remember the power he felt at being wanted. The desire to do it again.

7. When his Grandma found out he was gay, she didn't react like he expected her to. She took one look into his eyes, picked up the blue teapot and threw it at him, screaming to leave her house forever. The last time Sebastian saw that tea set, it was lying in pieces on his Grandma's kitchen floor.

8. His first trip to Scandals, he doesn't pick anybody up at all. Neither does he the second time. He just sits on a bar stool and looks around. Looks at the people like him.

9. Sebastian couldn't really tell you what it is about Blaine that he likes. By the time they meet, Sebastian has worked his way through most of the regular clientele at Scandals, and broken a few hearts of his own at Dalton. Blaine might be handsome, but he isn't anything special compared to the gorgeous men Sebastian has been with. But something about Blaine's wide eyed innocence, his ready smile and the way his eyelashes brush against his cheeks draw Sebastian to him. He just can't help himself.

10. Sebastian knows that Blaine belongs to Kurt. Knows it in the way that Blaine speaks his name, the way they look at each other and the secretive smile Kurt gives his boyfriend the next time they run into Sebastian. He knows that Blaine isn't for him, but that doesn't stop him lying awake late into the night, fingernails digging into his palms and wishing for what can't be. It doesn't stop him hanging out with Blaine, either. He's clearly a masochist.
