Yes, yes, I know. I'm a TERRIBLE author. You say you're going away for a while and instead you put a story on hold for about 3 fucking years. Way to go, Mr. Hiatus. Honestly, I didn't mean to put this story on hold for so long. I've been wanting to get back to it for a while but I've had all of these other stories that I had to get off my chest. Then I had to take my time to update those and at most times I felt like writing them more than this. But as I said before, I'm not going to drop this story or any of them. I'm going to see whatever I write all the way through. And since I have years of experience under my belt, along with a drastic change in mindset compared to how I used to write, I'm going to make this story better. Looking back on it I don't think I was really being that good of an author. All I focused on honestly was trying to make Naruto cool while still keeping him like himself a little bit. Now I am still gonna do that but I can't just keep doing dumb, biased stuff like bashing characters for no reason. Especially when it won't be called for.

Now Sasuke is still going to be a jerk and he is still going to have to get put into his place but I never really began to try and work on him slightly bonding with Naruto. You guys know what I mean. Those moments where they just have those tidbits of 'Okay, I accept that you're here'. It's a small work in progress. So they will become friends but since Naruto established tighter relationships with Cole and Kurama then of course he'll see them as family more so than Sasuke. But you can't forget all of those time when they were both kids and they kinda had that rivalry going. Mainly on Naruto's part of course, but still. But because of this Sasuke isn't going to be the same as cannon. He'll learn a few more jutsu this time around, since he can't stand being outdone by Naruto like this. And Sakura really DID do something productive during her week, before the chunin Exams. No more Ms. Substitution Jutsu.

I mean that fight was pathetic. She tried so HARD to make it seem like she was putting in work but she didn't! I mean why in the hell did she resort to biting Zaku when she could've at least stuffed another kunai in his eye!? And why did Zaku forget that he could've just blown her the fuck off with his Slicing Sound Wave instead of just punching her!? All he had to do was grab her big-ass forehead and blow her away! Geez! (Sigh) Anyway…there's also going to be a few more new changes to the story. Though these changes can be minor or major depending on how it's integrated.

And no, it's not anything about me changing my mind about having other people being Conduits. We already discussed that Naruto is the only Conduit on Earth. However, after playing through all 3 inFAMOUS games again, I got an INCREDIBLE new idea that is going to blow you all away.

LupineKing: As I told you in a PM LONG ago (Jesus, it HAS been long) Naruto will most definitely be making friends his own age. And even some friends above his age and…maybe under it. Look, it'll be this little mini arc that I have planned and it'll be during the month break until the final fights. So just be a tiny bit patient.

ColeMcGrath: Missed you man! Anyway's, yes! He WILL get the Negative Karma powers! Now how he does that without doing evil deeds, is another mystery. But I have a good plan on how it all works out. But just know that he won't be able to use both good and bad Karma powers simultaneously.

Kavell Anderson: Man, my apology was long overdue. First of all, I accept your apology. Though that did kinda come off as mean, so…just watch yourself next time. Though I'm also sorry for how I acted. I'm glad that you like my story so much and all but…I love each and every single story I make. You have no idea how much fucking hard work even GOES in Worlds Apart. Seriously. All of the plot's, angst, backstory, and such that I have prepared to insert it is a good deal of effort on both me AND mellra. I LOVE that story, especially because of it. I mean have you even tried to read it yourself? If you had (At least if you like Digimon and DBZ) then you can understand why I was busy working on that instead of this. I mean I even dropped THREE full chapters for that bitch in the past months. That was because I felt obligated to do so. Whenever I got to an author's bio for story's they wrote, I want to at least read all the ones that interest me. Maybe you should do the same with any of my stories, thank you.

And I don't have a female. Wish I did, but I don't.

The Dimensional Reader: That is actually a good question. I'll say partially. While, yes. Lightning is weak to wind. However, remember all of these jutsu being thrown around is Chakra-infused. Naruto's lightning is pure, raw, lightning. So unless it's an Ionic Storm, then he'll be able to bypass a small amount of his energy through a wind technique. But it's not like it'll really do much though. Thankfully, he has his Fire Style jutsu to counter any wind attacks. And when his ice powers develop more (He'll get more than Cole) then he'll laugh at enemy wind.

Jasenerd: Yes. The only Conduit in general. I have and beat Second Son too. About 10 times in fact. Don't judge me, I love that fucking game. As I said there WILL be new Conduit elements but I won't give you any satisfaction of possibly guessing what it is. I mean, you CAN! But I don't want to give away any loud hints. Just know that 'Second Son' was most definitely not the first of the infamous games to do what's going to be incorporated.

zeldawolffang: You've seen 'Naruto: The Last', right? So that had to have HURT you to know that Naruto and Hinata is a canon pairing. But no. You're in luck, because I decided to pair him with an OC. Spoiler alert, it's actually going to be one of the new 'people' he meets during the start of his month after the preliminaries. And, no. Naruto is sure as hell not going to have his Chakra partially sealed. That would throw a wrench in my plans.

TuxedoGreymon: You DO know that it was only after 'Second Son' dropped that it was shown that Conduits can develop their own powers. Either by accident or by trauma. But I no one knew that at the tie since the only games out were inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2. It was thought to be believed at first that it took Ray Field Energy to activate the Conduit Gene. And when was this story made? Nowhere around Second Son's release at March 2014, that's for sure. So, yeah. That's the direction I took, and even now it seems the most believable. I mean me just have Naruto close his eyes and unlock his powers, or some shit? Conduit-Ex-Machina.

And, I knew about that too. The whole situation about how he and Cole are related. How in the fuck is Cole his ancestor? Honestly, I thought of the idea years ago and it's so plausible that I haven't changed it in the slightest. A bit on the angst side but plausible. And no, Kessler or Sasha has nothing to do with it. Naruto is seriously related to good ol' Cole.

Damn. I missed that shit. I missed YOU guys. But anyway, I believe that it is about time to get this show rolling. I kinda don't have anything else to say after this so there might not be an Author's Note at the bottom. So just enjoy guys! AND, to those of you who DON'T read my other stories, which you SHOULD be doing, I'm in college. I'm on Christmas Break of course, but I AM in college. Meaning I have limited writing time, yet for some reason I write when I'm in school. Weird.

Conduit Powers:

Karmic Rank: Champion

The 'Amp': A dual pronged metal rod that once charged with lightning has the ends extended and becomes indestructible. Good for a close combat melee fight.

Alpha Bolt: A single shot of lightning.

Pincer Bolt: Three simultaneous homing shots of lightning that moves twice as fast as a regular bolt but can't shoot rapid fire.

Alpha Blast: A wide close range burst of electricity that can blast away anything.

Gravitation Blast: A wide close range burst that can send enemies hovering in the air for a few seconds.

Alpha Grenade: A small ball of lightning that will explode a second after it is thrown.

Sticky Grenade: A small ball of lightning that can stick to any surface and will then explode.

Ice Grenade: A small ball of ice that will burst into a mass of ice spikes when detonating on a surface. Will sometimes cause enemies to either be launched or flash-freeze.

Alpha Rocket: A large blast of lightning that while slow will cause massive damage. 5X more powerful than that of a Grenade.

Gigawatt Blades: The user creates two lightning blades of high temperature, power and energy around their arms that starts from the elbows and ends at the hands. The blades can extend to 2 feet long in length and can slice through practically anything; also good for a close combat fight.

Radar Pulse: The user sends out a neuroelectric mental pulse of energy that can detect electricity signals, allies or enemies 360 degrees in diameter. Allies flash blue while enemies flash red.

Kinetic Pulse: The user surrounds themselves in a ring of lightning and whatever object is within range will be lifted into the air, only to be dropped or thrown afterwards. If one were to work on this ability they would be able to lift objects from a distance.

Thunder Drop: The user jumps from a high altitude and shrouds themselves in lightning. When making contact with the ground the lightning disperses and sends out a shockwave, the higher the drop the bigger the impact.

Pulse Heal: The user channels lightning to their hands and places them upon another person instantly healing their injuries whether they be internal or external.

Bio Leech: The user places their hands upon a person and drains the electricity from their body killing them, but the users completely healed and is back at full power instantly.

Bio Leech Overload: Once the Bio Leech has been initiated the user gains infinite lightning for 20 seconds.

Arc Restraint: The user releases cuffs of electricity on a downed opponent's wrists and ankles preventing them from moving.

Precision: The user is able to zoom in on a target for better aim and drastically increases their reaction time. To them everything else is moving incredibly slower than usual.

Trial by Paper

After their apparent proctor's introduction most of the people were put on edge immediately. No one trusted that evil glint they saw in his eyes or his crooked smile. There wasn't even slight whispers of him or anything else, but a few gasps of shocked shinobi. Though the fact that he had a small group of elder shinobi behind him, who looked ready to make all of their test-takers lives horrible, didn't help either. Ibiki ignored them however and adjusted his gave to the back of the room, where Kabuto had just been assaulted. His rose an arm and pointed over at the Sound ninja.

"You there! Candidates from the Village Hidden in the Sound! Knock it off! Who told you, you could fight!? You wanna be failed before we've even begun!?" He shouted at them, though they didn't care.

Dosu turned to him slightly. "Sorry. It's out first time. Guess we're a little jumpy…sir." He replied, slyly. Ibiki just smirked at his calm attitude before he went back to his normal visage. He turned his head, looking at the whole room before he started speaking again.

"I'll say this once so listen up. There will be no combat between candidates or attacking each other without the permission of your proctor. And even them the use of fatal force is strictly prohibited. Anyone who even thinks of messing with me will be disqualified immediately. Got it?"

The whole room stayed quiet for a bit before Zaku smirked. He turned his head to Ibiki. "No fatal force? That's no fun."

His comment had some of the other proctors chuckling to themselves but Ibiki didn't respond to him. He just continued with his own speech. "Now if we're ready we'll proceed to the next stage of the Chunin Exam. Hand over your paperwork. In return you'll each be given a number," he held up a small, white, thin block with a 1 on it, "this number determines where you will sit. We'll start the written test once you're all seated."

Once Ibiki was finished, at least for the moment, Naruto blinked a few times before they closed. He got butterflies in his stomach as he rubbed his head nervously. "The wha-?" Sakura and Kabuto looked at him. "Did he say…written?" He said with a small hint of fear. To show that he wasn't hearing things the Chunin that he saw a while ago held up a thick stack of white sheets. His eyes shot wide open as he fell to hands and knees in defeat. "NO! NOT A WRITTEN TEST! NO WAY!"

Kabuto gave a small smile, even though he still felt aches. "Oh, don't be overdramatic. It's not that bad of a thing."

Naruto shook his head from side to side in defiance. "IT'S THE ABSOLUTE WORST OF THINGS! I CAN'T DO THIS!"

"Oh, stop being such a drama queen, you big baby. All you have to do is a normal, everyday, test." Kyuubi said, as he had returned to the viewing pond from his dangerous game of tag with Cole. At the moment it was just him, who was lying on his belly, with his arms crossed under his head. His tails lightly wavered back and forth in the air.

"What are you talking about!? You KNOW I'm terrible at this kinda stuff! There's no way in hell I'm going to pass this!" Naruto replied, while his eyes were pure anime white. Meanwhile, people were getting called to get their numbers and taking their seats. Since the blond and the rest of the Rookie 12, plus Kabuto, it would take a good few minutes until it was there turn.

"True. I may not have cared back then, but I do remember seeing your work in the academy. I say…it was very atrocious. I'm amazed you know what 2 plus 2 is." Naruto began to yell a few more obscene things to the fox, whose black lips curled into a smirk. Some of his fangs poking out from his upper lip as he snickered lowly. "I'm just joking, kit. Just relax, will ya'? Push comes to shove then you can just cheat."

"What!? I can't cheat!"Naruto countered before he got up to get in line for his own number.

"Yes, you can. All you gotta do is look at someone else's paper and not get caught. I've seen human customs enough times to know that much, at least. All you have to do is be smart about it." Kyuubi replied, yawning a tad bit at the end. Though he wasn't tired yet, so his eyes remained open. Naruto sweatdropped at how easy-going his Tailed Beast was about it. Of course, a demon who didn't have his problems would've really understand how important writing tests were. Why would he? Naruto himself only managed to just scrape by on the skin of his teeth for his recommendation for the final exam. Even if said exam was failed three times. He got his number, 53, and got to his seat.

Now it was just a paper, pen and a very uncomfortable Conduit. He placed his hands on his paper as he looked around the room nervously. "Agh! I don't even know where the others are sitting. I'm all alone." He placed his head in his hands and gripped his hair. "This is already a disaster!"

"Um…Naruto?"

He stopped his mulling and looked to his right to see Hinata was sitting right next to him. He instantly brightened up, seeing a good friend was sitting next to him. "Oh. Where'd you come from Hinata? I didn't see you."

She looked to the table before back at him. "I…wanted to say…good luck and everything." She gave her own smile while Naruto's own got a bit bigger from her kindness. "Thanks."

"Whoa, that's weird. I didn't even notice her. Even when she's there it's like she's not there." He thought.

"I'd say she has the making of a good assassin or spy, if trained properly. You wouldn't want to make an enemy of this girl in the future. Unless, of course, you plan to mate her."

Naruto gave an audible gasp of shock, while his face turned bright red. Hinata looked mildly confused at his outburst while Naruto closed his eyes, hating how Kyuubi managed to throw something like that in. "What the heck is wrong with you!? You KNOW she's just a friend!"

The demon fox grinned wildly. "That's always how it starts, isn't it? But then next thing you know, she comes to your abode and you start talking about nothing in particular. One thing leads to another before you find her under you and-"

"KYUUBI! THE FUCK!?" Naruto yelled, cutting him off.

"What? It can happen. It did to me at least."

Naruto tried to keep himself from shouting aloud but his eyes opened and he blinked multiple times. Did…did the Nine-Tails just say that he got laid!? "You…you really...SERIOUSLY!? HOW AND WHY!?"

Now it was the fox's turn to grumble. He frowned a little at his jinchuuriki, as his crimson eyes rolled in his head. "How dare you? I may be a demon fox but I am still a male, Naruto. And since your naïve little mind doesn't understand this yet, males have a tendency to want to mate. Especially after they get it the first time. Honestly, ever since I've been getting controlled and sealed all these years against my will I finally remembered just how sexually frustrated I am. I hope you can help me get the hell out of this damn seal pretty soon, so I can get some tail. I mean I'm a fox open to many things but there's no way in hell Cole would suffice to my-"

Naruto shook his head even more before slamming his face into the desk. He gripped his head harder, practically tearing some out as he tried to block out Kyuubi's words. "NO! STOP! WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT THIS ANYMORE! I DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ANY OF YOUR DIRTY HOBBIES YOU PERVY FOX!" All he got was a deep guttural laugh in return, before his little annoyance decided to leave him be.

"Um…Naruto?" Hinata said, shuffling a tad bit. "Are you…okay? You look…upset at something and…"

Naruto opened his eyes and glanced over to her. He shook his head before picking it up. "Just…nerves. You know, from the test and all. Sorry 'bout freaking you out and stuff."

Hinata gave him a tiny smile and replied. "Oh, no. That's alright. But…I know that you can…do well if you try."

Naruto perked up a bit more from her second dose of encouragement but thanks to a certain fox he was going to be having to clean out his mind for who knows how long. He just nodded at her as he tried to pay attention to Ibiki. Thankfully he didn't seem to miss anything yet as said person tabbed a piece of unused chalk on the board to show that he would begin.

"Everyone, eyes front. There are a few rules you need to be aware of. And I won't answer any questions," he tapped the board a few more times, "so you better pay attention the first time around." Ibiki faced the black board before he started to write down the rules for the test. "Alright, rule one is this. The written part of the Chunin Exam is conducted on a point reduction system. Contrary to what some of you may be used to, you'll all start the exam with a perfect score of 10 points. One point will be deducted for each answer you get wrong, so if you miss 3 your final score will be 7."

'And if I miss 10 my final score will be 0.' Naruto sighed inwardly.

"Your mental math is truly astounding." Kyuubi teased.

'Hey, shut up! I was just thinking about…how I'd usually do on tests.' Naruto countered but Kyuubi just chuckled, still tickled by Naruto's lack of book smarts. Which, of course, irked the blonde but he decided to not indulge the fox anymore.

Meanwhile, Ibiki was still explaining. "Rule number two. Teams will pass or fail based on the total score of all three members."

The whole class gasped or gave some other kind of similar exclamation. Naruto felt his heart pick up a bit, knowing that this was even more of a problem than he initially thought it to be. Speaking of which, he heard a loud bang behind him, and turned a little to see that it was Sakura who slammed her whole forehead into the table. No doubt, on the grounds that she knew that their team staying a team was on Naruto's shoulders and he was everything but good at tests.

She rose her head, which had a red bruise, and yelled, "What!? Wait a second! You're saying we all get scored…as a team!?"

"Silence! I have my reasons. So shut up and listen!" Ibiki commanded, do doubt shutting up the pinkie

'Reasons?' She thought before Ibiki, once again, did what he does best.

"Rule number three. The sentinels you see positioned around the room are there to watch you carefully for any signs of cheating. And for every incident they spot, they sill subtract 2 points from the culprits score. Be warned, their eyes are extremely sharp. And if they catch you five times you'll be dismissed before the tests are even scored. Anyone caught cheating by the sentinels doesn't deserve to be here. If you wanna be considered shinobi…then show us what exceptional shinobi you can be."

He paused to let his words sink into the students, who were all put on edge from how hardcore the written test actually is. Naruto seemed to have been dropping into his own state of depression which got worse and worse with every rule sounding worse than the last. Sakura, meanwhile, had her hands folded with her elbows on her desk. She tried to formulate just how her team can make it, even with their weakest link, being the deadlast of their class.

'Okay, okay. Relax. I know I'll do alright and Sasuke should be fine. So even if Naruto gets a 0, if we do well enough we should survive this.' She thought just as Ibiki began to speak once again.

"One more thing. If any candidate should get a 0 and fail the test…then the entire team fails."

Behind Naruto, Sasuke choked (Not to death) while Sakura got anime white eyes. A tick mark of frustration on her forehead. "WHAT HE SAY!?" She screamed. Naruto gulped as his face turned a deep blue, wanting to crawl up into a fetal position. He could practically feel all of the frustration that Sasuke and Sakura were giving him and he didn't like it one bit.

'Ugh! They're gonna kill me!'

"Oooooooooh~. You're in troubleeee~." Kyuubi said in a sing-song voice.

'YOU'RE NOT HELPING!'

"Naruto?" Hinata said to him but in his self-pity didn't hear her.

Ibiki interrupted with his own words. "The final question will be given 15 minutes before the end of the testing period." That snapped Naruto out of his thoughts and made him along with Hinata gasp. "You'll have 1 hour total." He looked to the clock, waiting for the appropriate time to commence. Once the second-hand reached the 12 he immediately shouted, "BEGIN!"

For the next couple of seconds all that could be heard was papers being flipped over as the students gazed at their tests. A small few starting while the majority looking very much confused. Next the only sounds that could be heard were the multiple tapping of pens as they pitter-pattered across the papers in a never ending frenzy. Sakura had her pen to the paper but didn't start writing yet as she tried to hype herself up.

'Okay, focus Sakura. Focus! This is where you show your stuff. Just don't blow it Naruto. Get at least one of 'em right.'

Sasuke, meanwhile, held his pen near his face as he glanced at his own paper. Though his eyes quickly shifted to Naruto to see him having a panic attack. 'Tch. Oh, man. This doesn't look good. He's just sitting there. He's gonna choke.'

Naruto instead did the opposite as a thought washed over him. He couldn't give up even without even having tried! For all he knows he could do pretty well if he gave it his all! The idea made him raise his head and give a big grin. 'Hehehe. What am I worried about? It's just a test. I've done a lot harder things.' He picked up the paper and looked at it. 'All I've gotta do is relax and take my time. Just read through all the questions and find the ones I have a chance of answering. No pressure. Okay, number 1. O-oh, I see. You got to decipher a code. Okay…mhmph! Okay, forget that one. What's next?'

Kyuubi grinned with even more mirth than before. "Did you even try?"

'I tried to try but I didn't get it! So I just skipped it. Weren't you looking at it too?' Naruto grumbled in his head. Kyuubi shrugged a tad bit.

"Nope. Like I'd find entertainment in watching you scribble down some mess on paper. You should go ahead and just cheat. It'll do you a lot of good in the long run." He suggested but Naruto shook his head once, as he got done reading the second question. His brain felt like it was going to burst after reading some kinda ridiculous crap about shuriken trajectory or whatever. He then tried to read the third one after skipping the second, grumbling outwardly in frustration to the fox.

'I can't! If I get caught then I'm done! And I just realized, where the heck is Cole?' He exclaimed.

"Don't worry about him. He can avoid me as much as he wants but he'll come back. Anyways, technically, if you get caught five times then you're done. And this Ibiki person never did say that you couldn't cheat. All he said was to not get caught doing it. Meaning that you have full reign to go ahead and find yourself some good answers."

Naruto looked up from the sheet, mulling over Kyuubi's words. Thinking about it Ibiki really didn't say that he couldn't cheat, did he? He only told of how points get deducted if you do and you can't get caught a certain amount of times. 'You know what? That's weird. Whenever I tried to cheat on a test back in the Academy Iruka sensei would be on my ass the moment he got an idea of me doing it. But we get a limit here? On such an important test?'

Kyuubi brought out a paw from under him and rolled it into a circle slowly. "Go o-n. You almost got it. It kinda sounds like…"

The blond had to stop himself from gasping out loud as he blinked in realization. His right hand, holding the pen, hit the table as his eyes glanced around the room. They then fell on Ibiki whose slightly upward twitch of his lips gave Naruto the final piece of the puzzle. 'Are you saying that he WANTS us to cheat but to not get caught!?'

Kyuubi chuckled, resting his head in his lifted paw. "Where would you be without me? Yes. That's exactly what it sounds like. Since your mental math isn't up to par let me give you this rundown. You get 10 points to start off. A perfect score. You get 5 strikes for cheating. If you get caught cheating then you lose 2 points. 5 times 2 is 10. So if you get a 2 point reduction 5 times-"

'Then you get 0 points which is what gets you disqualified! Holy crap! We ARE supposed to cheat!' He gave a bit of a relieved sigh as he picked up his paper and looked at some of the questions. 'Well that's good to know, I guess. I mean these questions don't even make sense! I don't even think Sasuke could get any of this right! Maybe Sakura though, since she's pretty book smart.'

"Though unlike the pink haired banshee, Sasuke has the Sharingan. He could easily mimic the motions of someone's writing utensil. And I'm sure all of your other comrades and enemies are using various methods to get answers for themselves. You, on the other hand, don't have any special kind of discreet jutsu that you can exploit."

Naruto was about to get ready to pout again, after realizing that he'd have to start from square one again. He knew that to be true. He didn't have any kind of special on-the-spot espionage uses. He was more for obliterating things than to gather Intel in some form or the other. However a lightbulb went off in his head at a loophole that he had managed to rediscover.

'You're right. Maybe I don't have a jutsu to help me. But I do have a new power that can! I just need to find somebody who looks like they know what they're doing and then test my luck.' His eyes shifted to the people in the rows in front of him and even to the ones to the far right. Even if he couldn't realistically see someone's paper from this distance he was sure that he could once his put his plan into motion. He seemed to have struck a large pile of metaphorical gold as he found a guy, sitting three rows ahead, three tables to the right. He tore through these beyond difficult questions like it was child's play, with is paper in a good enough view to be seen. To try and add to his sneakiness he rested his head in his right hand, and lightly turned his face in the direction of the guy he was going to try and copy answers from. The new position making it seem as if he was being nonchalant while letting his eyes wander. If the sentinels were as good as Ibiki said then they would believe that Naruto wouldn't attempt to try and look at the info someone had from an impossible vicinity.

But they didn't know that Naruto was a Conduit. Activating his new Perception power, Naruto's focus zoomed into the random guy's answer sheet, while time seemed to slow down around him. Getting his pen ready he managed to see that answer's 1, 2, and 3 were finished and the 4th was being worked on. He couldn't help but give a large grin as he began to copy the three difficult answers as fast as he could before he ran out of power. Not that he would anytime soon since Perception only drains electricity at a slow pace but it was better to be safe than sorry. While writing, he didn't catch Hinata, Sakura and Sasuke who looked at him with disbelief. There was no possible way that he should've been able to answer any of these. Sakura, because she knows that Naruto was most definitely not mentally capable and Sasuke because he knew that Naruto didn't have a method of being a discreet cheater. Even if he did find a method to do so. But at a time like this he was glad that he was doing whatever he was doing, so that they wouldn't all fail because of his inability to jot down a single answer.

Once Naruto was finished with the 3rd question he placed his pen down, stopped using his power and gave a sigh. He then placed his arms on the table before he gave a large smile to no one in particular. Mainly at his luck for having such a useful technique. And who wouldn't appreciate having a built-in scope in their brain? Kyuubi gave a chuckle in his mind.

"Gotta say, brat. You sure as hell surprised me with that little idea of yours. Using that Perception trick, huh? I dare say, very cunning."

Naruto had to refrain from chuckling in triumph, as he rested his head in his arms. He closed his eyes and gave a normal but large smile. 'Thanks! All I had to do was keep my cool and then the idea came to me. I feel like I'm gonna have to thank Cole for that one.'

"Well you can thank him whenever he decides that he wants to show."

Naruto made a mental note of that before he began to take a rest. His brain was placed on too much stress and he felt that resting it would remedy that. While he did so, unknown to him, Mako was also looking at him from the area in front of Choji. His paper was blank but he wasn't worried. He decided to let the time go on and wait for more people to jot down more answers so that he could gain more answers from anyone.

'Hmph. Guess Uzumaki isn't too brain dead after all. Though for him to have taken this long to understand the real meaning behind this test? What a joke.' Seeing enough of the time go by he picked up his pen, and glanced over to his two teammates. Omoi on the far left with Karui just a table to the right. Seeing them both blink twice he closed his eyes and focused lightning Chakra through his brain, feeling a spark go through. He then sent the mental spark to the same person that Naruto had copied answers from. 'My Lightning Neural Transmission may not be perfected…but it should still get the job done.'

Just as he expected his jutsu allowed him to scan the bio-electrical signals in his target's brainwaves, allowing him to 'gleam' any sort of information that he could find. So far, it only worked if the target was actually thinking of a subject consciously, or had a thought at the forefront of their mind. It was a special jutsu that Mako himself had invented. The finished product is supposed to allow him to freely read minds, no matter how many electric impulses on certain thoughts were being broadcasted. But this would do for now. He felt he hit the jackpot when he managed to get all 9 questions form the man's brain before he focused more and branched the connection to Omoi and Karui. Their eyes widened in shock for a moment before they all picked up their pens and got to work.

All around people's numbers were getting called out at failing the test. More and more numbers were called with some of the sentinels having to get rough when some said candidates outright refused to leave. That placed more tension on all of those who were still working, while having trouble with answering questions. That or their methods of cheating were not discreet enough to the point where they couldn't risk being called out either. Those that did try soon joined the failed candidates.

Soon time elapsed to where everyone had to place their pens down. There was now half of the candidates compared to the start, which made Ibiki smirk. They all knew that he was about to give the 10th question.

"Now that we've weeded out most of the hopeless cases, 15 minutes to go. Time for the main event. Alright! Listen up! Here's the 10th and final question!"

Okay, okay. That's enough. Hehe, you guys must be raging that this chapter is pretty short. Well, I'm sorry but I DID want to get this chapter out by Christmas. Also, while this chapter may not be much it's just part 1 of what I originally intended. I WAS going to throw in most of the Forest of Death, but BITCH! THAT would've been TOO long of a chapter! But this here seems reasonable enough. I'm working on that thing right now to be honest. And I swear to God, I refuse to stop working on this story for years on end. Nope. Back to normal updates. HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS! Oh, and PLEASE read my other stories and check out the authors that I give shout outs too. I think they really deserve it.

Also, I'm going to edit this after a while. I feel that this chapter may have been kinda rushed and I miss Cole. He'll be in part 2 though.
