"There is only one gift I wish to give to you my love…"

"I love your smile." I said as I hold the small, fragile, sweet country in my arms. He always had this distinct small smile that appears when he looks at me. He had this fluffy, brown-ish blonde hair. Dear lord, his eyes were like a bright violet nebula far beyond our galaxy. He was easily discouraged by our boss. His drinking problem didn't blind me from his love for romance novels and poetry.

"Latvia, I have something for you." I said calmly. A cherry colored blush shone on his face as he asked in his childish sweetie voice "S-something for me?" I nodded as I pulled a box from behind me. He seemed eager to find out what it was so as soon as he had it in his grip. He gasped as he pulled out a silky textured red scarf. He immediately laced and tied it around his beautiful neck. It sat gently on his shoulders but high on his neck. The shine on the scarf complimented the shine in his eyes.

As soon as Mr. Russia returned from visiting Mr. China he sent us back to work. Latvia was quietly speaking with Lithuania. He still wore his scarf. No one knew it was from me. It was obvious though, even Mr. Russia knew that Latvia and I had feelings for each other. Lithuania seemed to be talking about the scarf with Latvia as they walked cautiously to the other room. I just watched them leave. Not long after they left the kitchen I heard Ms. Belarus spit out orders to Lithuania.

As nightfall came Latvia was sitting on the covered-in-pillows bench by big crystal clean windows. He was reading a romance novel called "Noel". The cover matched the dark blue sky and the gold on it matched the stars. He was wrapped in a Latvian flag blanket. He still hasn't taken off the scarf? He looked over to me and closed his book. He smiled at me and hugged me. He said something so sweetly you swore your sweet tooth just bit a piece of chocolate "Hey Estonia can you come outside with me?"

I got my coat on and I and he went outside. He held my hand tight as he looked up at the sky. I looked up as well to see the beautiful aurora. The northern lights seemed light curtains of thin colorful lights in the shades of blues, greens, pinks, and purples. I could feel myself squeezing Latvia's hand. We finally turned to each other. I put my hand on Latvia's cheek and rubbed it with my thumb. He slowly put his arms around my neck and smiled.

To end this beautiful night we shared and savored a passionate sweet kiss on each other's lips...
