Shimura Danzo looked down into a pair of wide, watery black eyes. The boy who was walking through the marketplace alongside him looked even more like him than his father had at that age. Being a grandfather was more fun than he thought it would be, and definitely more fun than being a father. He could give the brat back to his stubborn offspring who had yet to divorce that whore anytime it started acting up.

"Alright, we can go into the candy store, but no eating anything I buy you until after you get home." Danzo said to his grandson as he smiled down at the child.

The grin the boy gave him was absolutely brilliant and warmed a heart that he'd thought had long grown cold. The hug had been surprising considering how reserved the boy had acted around him earlier, but not unappreciated.

Yes, being a grandfather was better than he thought it would be, even if it was damn expensive. So far today, he'd bought the boy lunch, several new toys, ninja equipment that would serve him well in the future, some new clothes to replace the atrocious stained rags that his son had sent him out in, and given him a low D-rank's worth of pocket money.
