Pain. That was the only word for the raw emotion that ripped through her as she backed out of the Room of Requirement, shooting longing glances at the tousled raven haired boy.

She sprinted out, and by the time she had reached a secret passage her emotions had changed. Anger. That was what she felt toward the sleek haired, porcelain faced Cho Chang.

But at the same time she realized that anger was only masking another emotion. Jealously, yes, Ginny thought as she continued to pace tugging at her horribly ginger hair, it was more jealousy than anger that she felt toward Chang.

She stopped pacing suddenly, realizing she was not, however, feeling the one emotion that she really should be feeling. Guilt. She had a perfectly good boyfriend Michael Corner, but she continued to moon after the emerald eyed boy that would only ever view he as "Ron's little sister".

As she finally slid to the floor, her back resting against the slightly damp and cold wall of the passage, Ginny felt one last emotion sure though her. Defeat. She closed her eyes, trying to accept that Harry, The-Boy-Who-Lived Harry Potter, would never like her, but as she did light poured into the hidden passage, breaking though her reverie and making her glance up.

She quickly looked back down ashamed to have been found crouching, near tears, by her two twin brothers. She was a Weasley, and Weasleys didn't cry.

"What's up sis?" George asked in a concerned tone.

"Yeah we saw you running and called after you but you seemed to have gone a bit deaf," Fred joked.

"Or maybe," George said, "she just doesn't want to talk to her big brothers Freddie!" he said with mock distress.

Ginny cracked a grin despite herself; her Gred and Forge always knew how to make her smile.

"Let me guess," Fred stage whispered, "boy troubles." George gasped theatrically.

"Our little Ginny's all grown up!" he cried and pretended to sob into his hands. Ginny smacked him lightly but was already sitting up and grinning widely.

"So," George started, "this doesn't have anything to do with a certain black haired green eyed boy left alone with a certain Cho Chang, does it?"

Ginny's smile faded. Despite their ability to cheer her up, her brothers could be quite tactless at times.

"Don't worry, I'm sure he'll notice there's a beautiful ginger right in front of him at some point. He'll come 'round," Fred assured her.

"Oh don't Fred! You're making me blush!" George said in a high pitched voice and then giggled.

"Don't flatter yourself," Fred replied rolling his eyes.

Ginny raised an eyebrow questioningly.

"Of course before he can make a move he'll be mauled by five over-protective brothers," Fred answered seriously.

Ginny huffed, but then let out a laugh at the uncharacteristic serious face that Fred was wearing.

"Well," Ginny finally said, "I hope you're right."

"Of course we are Gin," George said, "we always are."

Ginny closed her eyes, trying to imagine a time when it might be her approaching Harry under the mistletoe. She sighed and opened her eyes, thinking it would be a long time before Harry ever noticed her, not realizing how soon it would really be.
