Late Night Kiss

The sun over central was beating down on the pedestrians, it's rays guiding heat to every individual. It was on this day that Colonel Roy Mustang was sitting under a tree in the park. A book of alchemy was open on his lap, and he was studying it as if the words held the secrets to the world itself. Which, to an alchemist, it might.

His brow furrowed as he realized, much to his shock, he could not grasp medical alchemy very well. Sighing he throws the book aside and rubs the sweat out of his eyes. The blissful shade of the tree still did nothing to halt the heat.

He leans his head against the rough bark of the tree and closes his ebony eyes, falling in to the gentle, cool embrace of sleep.

Riza Hawkeye yawned as she walked down the street, her loyal K-9 Black Hayate by her side. She had been kept at the office while the Colonel had gotten to go home early. The sun was gone and in it's place sat a white, blissfully chill inducing moon. She sighed, the Colonel needed the time off more than she did, he was just healed from being blind.

She cringed as that moment came back to her, his scream forever locked in her head.

"Riza" The lieutenant jumped, not having seen anyone for awhile. Using her raptor eyesight, the very thing that got her nicknamed the Hawks' Eye, she spotted a figure curled up under a tree not far away. The park had been long deserted, it was puzzling that anyone remained.

Some fiber in herself brings her to walk over to the figure, only to find it was her commanding officer. The Colonel was curled in to a ball, his eyes closed shut as a nightmare gripped him. "Hawkeye...don't, Riza...don't..go" Roy was murmuring in his sleep, not at all peaceful.

Hawkeye stood there shocked for a moment, it was her he was dreaming about. Leaning down, she shakes his arm hoping to wake him up. "Colonel, Sir." he turns over, and before she can move away his lips cover hers.

She stands there, shocked and unable to move as Mustang opens his eyes. In an instant, both their faces break out in to a blush. Roy moves away first, apologizing "I'm sorry..it was my dream" he collects himself and his book, ready to run with the blush still scarlet on his face.

Hawkeye still hadn't moved, her eyes wide and the blush fading. Slowly she smiles, ever so slightly, and nods "I understand. You should get to bed Colonel. Your real bed" she walks away, calling Hayate with her.

Roy watched as his most trusted subordinate walked away, slowly tearing at his heart.

As she arrives home, Hawkeye smiles and sits against her door "So..I really do love him" Hayate barks, as if to say "Duh" and she takes him in to her arm, taking him to her room for sleep.
