Feeling

Summary: A musing of Astral's thoughts of learning about Yuuma's world and experiencing things before he has to leave in the future.

As a spirit, Astral could not touch anything in Yuuma's world. He wanted to know what it was like. His observations remained unfulfilled. Yuuma could only explain so much. It was something you needed to experience for yourself. That was all until they had gained the power of Zexal in the midst of their duel with Kaito within the confines of the Emperor's Key.

Overlaying their souls into one form had allowed Astral to experience things he had long ago forgotten. He had gained Yuuma's senses. Touch was amazing. He could feel the cards within their hands. He could feel Yuuma's heart beating within their chest. He could even feel Yuuma's soul resting against his own. This feeling he enjoyed more than watching ESPer Robin late at night.

He wished he could feel these things at all times. He knew it wasn't possible. He was merely a spirit being aided by a young boy. Yuuma. The boy had grown on him. Nothing but a pest at first. However, he was now his little Numbers Hunter. Yuuma was his dueling comrade. No, he was his best friend and partner in crime. Together they had accomplished many things.

Despite his lack of solid form and concept of affection, Astral felt differently about Yuuma than he did towards their other friends. The boy brought about feelings he had not remembered experiencing. Was it adoration? Was it love? He didn't know. All he knew was that these feelings were pleasing and he wanted to remain with Yuuma permanently. However as they encountered and collected more Numbers cards, he gained new memories. These memories often depressed him.

In truth, he knew his time with Yuuma was limited. He would have to leave the teen at some point. Regardless of his desires or Yuuma's.

He would bide his time and make the most of it. Spending time with Yuuma, collecting Numbers Cards and of course learning more about Yuuma's world.

He would make the best of it. He could never forget his time with his best friend.
