Lying Figure

I will lie here and wait, for those who would tempt their fate,

I stay silent in the dark, for I am one the town has left its mark

The foolish I will catch at the start, with the poison from my heart

You can run if you may, but there no one to save the day

My face is covered in my skin, so just like you, I cannot win

So here I lay on the dirt, better move fast for this will hurt

Even if you kill me and save your life, your soul is bound here by your strife

My face is twisted to the point of digust, as I wander this world of blood and rust

Though my blade is dull and I cannot see, I have heard your steps as you tried to flee

In clothes that are too tight, my beauty is in no way right

Never think to stop and look with wonder, for one cut will end your blunder

As your blood runs down my front, I will know that I am done the hunt

But I will wander this hall, searching every nook, every cranny, until I fall

My pain is great, my suffering long, my dragging blade sings a deadly song

Though you might find my actions slow, listening to my steps only makes the fear grow

I am named for the thing on my head, my punishment in hell, though I am not dead
