Chapter 38: Sweet Sacrifice

Richmond, Virginia

Isabella Swan was many things, but stupid was not one of them, the Petrova reincarnation knew that the Mikaelsons will be searching for her and that is why she had left little clues for Angela to follow.

Bella turned up at where Fredrick told her to meet him, it was there that she had noticed that he was not alone.

Standing beside him was Jane, Alec and Jacob, who seemed to be in some sort of magical submission; Mandy was no where to be seen.

"Where is Mandy?" Bella asked, well slightly demanded, Jane looked at her in annoyance as her mental ability gift still had no effect on the brunette human girl.

"Around."

"You have me now, Fredrick." Bella states, folding her arms across her chest. "Let Jacob and Many go."

Fredrick slapped Bella's face, not hard enough to kill but enough to cut her lip, she turned to face him with such hate and fury.

"You do not order me, Mikealson whore! I am the one with the power here!"

"You'll never be as powerful as a true hybrid, Fredrick." Bella taunted, earning a death glare from him. "You'll never be Niklaus."

Fredrick grabbed Bella roughly by the arm, dragging her towards the black SUV that he drove and shoved her into the back passenger's seat, turning to face Jane; a slight smirk upon his face.

"Release the witch, keep the Mutt... He'll be a nice bargaining chip for Bella to do exactly as I say." He ordered, earning a nod from both Jane and Alec.

Entering the SVU, Fredick glanced over at Bella, he reached to touch her face.

"You're doing a noble thing, Isabella." He spoke softly. "You'll soon will be reunited with your beloved Elijah. I will make sure he will be the first to fall."

Gripping her chin tightly, making the female Petrova reincarnation face him, a smirk on his lips.

"I cannot wait to taste that sweet, sweet blood in your veins." He taunted, letting go of Bella's face and side glanced at the private driver hired by the Volturi. "Drive."

Mystic Falls, Virginia

Esther watched as both Elijah and Niklaus went into a downright spiral, trying all of the past connections to find Caroline and Isabella.

But to no avail.

Rebekah was doing her best in reassuring her brothers that they will see their beloved soul mates again and that Fredrick will pay dearly for his crimes.

Mikeal, Finn and Sage were busy filling Charlie, who had left Forks the moment Isabella was declared missing.

The older male Swan had a feeling that his ex-wife's disappearance along with that of her new husband, Phil had something to do with Fredrick, with his law enforcement agencies connections and his own C.I sources... They found Renee's abandoned car.

The Cullen family were at a lost at the whole situation.

Carlisle and Esme were hurt by Edward's disappearance and betrayal, it was clear that he is working with Stefan and Fredrick.

How else would Renee and Phil disappear so easily?

Alice was blaming herself for not seeing this turn of events, she admitted seeing Edward think of making the choice of aiding Fredrick's quest for absolute power but it all went black from there onwards.

Jasper had kept himself in away in hopes of minimising the effect everyone had on his Empath abilities.

Hurt, guilt and anger were the main emotions effecting him.

Rosalie and Emmett were just there, unsure on what to do, unable to fix it.

They were helpless.

Esther was brought out of her own guilt ridden thoughts when the Spirits had notified that someone was approaching the house, with everyone on edge whoever it was... They were foolish to think it was a good idea to attack.

The witch opened the door, eyes widened as they fell upon Mandy, who went missing a few days earlier.

"My God... Mandy?"

"Jacob.. Fredrick... Tried saving Bella... To weak..." The young witch muttered inchorhert before falling unconscious in Esther's arms.

"Elijah!" Esther yelled, glancing up as her son appeared, with Charlie not far behind.

"What happened to her, mother?"

"It appears that Fredrick used Mandy and Jacob as a pawn in getting Bella." Esther spoke, letting Elijah take hold of the unconscious form of Mandy. "If Mandy had escaped... She may have a way of letting us find Bella."

"And Jacob...?" Charlie asked, looking a little hopeful.

"I am sorry, but it seems that Fredrick still has him."

"I need to go inform Billy that his son is missing."

"You may want to inform him that we will require the help of the La Push pack." Mikeal stated. "We all need to be prepared for the war that will come if Fredrick is to succeed."

"Indeed." Carlisle agreed, standing to his feet. "I know some of my own kind that may help."

Everyone turned to face Carlisle Cullen, gone was the fair and just Doctor, his golden topaz eyes dark from lack of feeding for a few days.

"Will they be willing to aide in our fight?"

"If given the chance to fight against the first ever Cold One and the creator of the Volturi... They will stand with us." Carlisle spoke. "Many of these covens of my kind have personal vendettas against Aro or his brothers."

"Go." Klaus murmured softly, gaining attention from the man. "Get your people. If it's a war Fredrick wants... It is a war he will get."
