The girl slipped quietly through the window, the wind blowing softly. She was practically invisible at night, only a dark shadow. She made her way across the darkened room to a small table in the corner, on which lay a single lightsaber.

"You promised it to me…" She whispered silently, taking her own out and switching the two. Yeah, he would notice the color change, but still. Besides, she didn't want this stupid red one anymore. She took the new lightsaber and activated it, hearing the soft noise and feeling the slight heat, but seeing nothing.

But there was something there, just invisible at the moment. Had it been daytime, she would have seen what it truly was-

A black lightsaber.

Turning it off, she whispered: "Thank you, master." The girl slid the weapon into her belt and turned to go.

"Daddy?" A young voice said that made her freeze. "I'm thirsty…" The door opened, casting light on her, and she stared at the little child that had opened it.

He looked at her in curiosity. "Who are you?" he asked.

"Shh…" She knelt down by him. "Are you his son?"

"Yeah. My name is Riku!" He whispered to her.

"Nice to meet you Riku." She smiled. "I'm Kira."

He looked over at the sleeping forms on the bed. "Why were you in mommy and daddy's room?"

"I was getting something you father promised me long ago." She told him. "Don't worry."

"Your face looks hurt." He put a small hand up and traced the large scar that ran across her head. "You okay?"

She was touched by the innocence of the little boy. He seemed a lot like her in all honesty. In fact… she had an idea. "I'm fine. Here," she told him, reaching into her pocket. "Do you like cookies?"

"I love them!" He grinned.

Kira smiled and drew a small cookie out and gave it to him. "You can have this if you don't tell your dad I was here, okay? It's a secret." she winked.

"Okay!" He nodded and took the treat. "I promise!"

"Okay, let's go to bed now." She took his hand and he led her to his small room, where he climbed back in bed.

"Thank you for the cookie." He told her, snuggling into his covers.

"You are welcome. I have to go now…" She turned to leave.

"Kira?"

"Yes?"

"Can you come back again sometime?"

She smiled at him. "When?"

"Maybe tomorrow? And then you can read me a story?"

Such an innocent boy… "Of course, dear. After your parents are asleep, open your window."

"Okay!"

She shut the door silently and ran back into the room she had come from. She darted to the window, but before she left, she looked back at the sleeping face of who had once, long ago, been her master.

"Sleep well." She told him, and then she leapt out of the window and back into the night.
