Shun has been commandeering the kitchen even at the protests of his mother and sisters ever since three weeks ago. Baking is his hobby, and he loves fiddling around with the measurements and ingredients until he reaches the desired taste and aroma. This year is different though – he wants to make something else other than the usual chocolate pieces, so he needs all the time he can get to perfect the recipe before giving his friends the final products.

It's become customary, ever since he can cook, that he makes little treats every now and then for the three of them – five now, he reminds himself to adjust the measurements. Sometimes he wonders if he's a bother, doing all these "girly" things and badgering them for feedback when they're not obligated to do anything of the sort. But his fears are wiped away when they give him positive comments – no matter how conservative and aloof they sound – because Shun knows that's their personalities. Yuuta's anything you make is wonderful encourages him the most, although the satisfied nods of Kaname and Yuuki are reassuring as well.

Yet Shun also knows that one day, all of his friends will gradually drift away from him and to their significant other, or to a different circle of people. The thought pains him, because he's the one who's the most unwilling to let go.

He gazes at the clear plastic bags that are done up prettily to protect the macarons inside, and prays that even if those days are to come, they'll continue to let him do this for them, even if it's only on Valentine's Day.
