Realistically

Summary: Realistically, Bolin knew he'd been dreaming to think he'd get Korra. This is a drabble from Bolin's POV if the Makorra kiss happens.

Mako got everything. It wasn't that he meant to… it was just the way it went. Mako was a winner where Bolin was only clinging onto his coat tails for the ride.

Bolin had wanted to be the one to save the team from missing out on the championship but all he got was trouble. Instead Mako was the one hit by a smoking hot girl who wanted to fling money at them. So the older brother took care of it just like he'd said he do. Mako got all the luck.

If Bolin went down in a match (which happened occasionally), Mako would pick up the slack, ever the hero. Mako was the one who could get serious work, the trustworthy brother, Bolin could barely get the trust of other street urchins.

Bolin could never do anything right. Mako didn't have to come at and say it - he knew it by that tone of voice that was often used with a deep sigh and an 'I'll take care of it'. Bolin hated that tone of voice Mako used.

And then there was Korra. Bollin had found her first. She was the first thing that Bolin had ever, really got right. If it wasn't for him she wouldn't be part of their team at all and he wouldn't have met the most awesome bender girl ever.

But it really shouldn't have surprised him when Korra forced her lips on Mako's that night. It wasn't a far cry from how things usually went. Bolin had just been foolish enough to think this time would be different… and that's why it hurt.

He really should have known that realistically he would never have a shot with the Avatar (even if they were perfect together). But it didn't stop it from hurting. He blamed Mako mostly. Why did he have to get everything? Most of all why did he have to get her? And Mako had told him to his face (well, his back was to him but close enough) that he wasn't going to go after Korra!

Bolin was seething. Something had to be done and he wasn't going to stand for it.

A/N. So we are all assuming Korra will kiss Mako in the next episode and the Fire Ferrets will all be 'grrr' at each other afterwards until we get some bromance make-up from our bros.

I think the end result is all three of them will vow to put their feelings aside and that will allow any romance to develop naturally over the course of three seasons like it did for Kataang.

I'm hoping Bolin will still like Korra though. Don't sink my ship this early in the game!
