"Ssh!"

"What are you doing?" Christine whispered as he crept to the other door.

"Playing hide and seek with Céline. I'm the hiding one."

"That's not fair; you have more than thirty years practice before her!"

"Ha! So you would think. Last time it took me an hour to find her." At her raised brows he continued. "She was behind the books."

"And you didn't notice her?"

"I have no idea how she climbed up there without any trace." He reached for the knob. "She's not at a disadvantage at all. I don't fit on the shelf."
