Myra watched with a smirk as the Wrecker Wheeljack demolished an entire swarm of Insecticons with the classic wrecker grandeur, by blowing them to kingdom come.

Zooming out Myra then cancelled her view and put her datapad away, hopping off of the console to head towards the exit.

Her earlier assumption of the Insecticon's demise left her feeling more irritated than she had originally surmised it would. She didn't care for his death but the lack of any joy she gained from such fulfillment's of her predictions had lost their spark.

Frowning she tried to come up with a logical explanation and each trace brought her to Knockout. For what reason she did not quite grasp, she allowed herself to believe it was due to his recent rejections of her help and the danger it posed due to his angsty behavior.

She allowed herself to believe she worried her secret would be revealed out of spite towards human kind, her being the sole victim.

She scowled, not buying her own logic and rejected the idea. She knew Knockout, he may be a narcissistic dingbot but he would not risk losing his only source of assistance that was as skilled as she. She was too valued by him and he would only risk her departure if he actually believed he needed it. She knew he didn't, Megatron was more concerned about the news of Starscream's Apex Armor and the fact he lost an entire swarm of Insecticons to a single Autobot and a mere human child.

Changing the subject she thought about Megatron's status, she knew she was in a neutral position in his mind due to her lack of application to his Decepticon cause. She knew he saw her as some value due to the human's part in the destruction of Hardshell, but only barely.

As she was thinking her datapad signaled a message and automatically she pulled it out and was mildly surprised by the information it displayed.

She knew immediately what it was, the identification showed immediately it was an escape pod, one that was en-route towards earth. Curious she inspected it's signal but could find no further information concerning it's occupant. Frowning she immediately began her research, she found the pod belonged to a transport vessel, and from the logs it was one of only 3 to leave the ship.

Frowning she began to build a hypothesis, either the ship contained a single escapee or a bot who was escaping the Decepticon cause, possibly more of either prospect. Thinking quickly she calculated the trajectory of the ship and calculated it's landing time before making a silent alarm to alert her of the time the ship should arrive. Once finished she put her datapad away and proceeded to exit the room to prepare, she had a feeling whatever that pod held there was bound to be trouble with it.

Gaia watched from a safe distance, blending effortlessly into her landscape as she watched the battle before her. Naturally she arrived in time to witness the battle between the opposing retrieval crews and sat back to watch the action.

She knew she needed not interfere by the sheer lack of effort the Autobots expressed in their battle. However she did shift the moment she spotted an extra figure, one who came sprinting from behind the Autobot lines and begin to battle before them.

Myra cocked an optic ridge, immediately she believed the bot to be a novice in the art of warfare. From all of his unorthodox movements and lack of precision she assumed he was probably never really seen battle before.

She concentrated on him and watched as he ignited the pod energon leak, sending the Autobots into a scramble for cover.

No doubt, he was a fool, and probably would not last long in a REAL battle. His status did not improve by his childish antics as he boasted in full view of the decimated cons.

Wanting a closer look she carefully approached the group, taking caution in her movement until she was only a few yard from them.

"-'s Optimus Prime!" he directed gleefully towards the team.

"We know." Arcee replied none to enthusiastically.

"Yes Yes, Yes." Ratchet uttered impatiently.

Even Bumblebee added his own unenthused beeping to imply his lack of surprise at the revelation.

"What is your name soldier?"

"Smokescreen, Sir!" he said, saluting in pent up excitement as he tried to reel in his emotions

"Welcome to Earth Smokescreen." Optimus replied, holding out a servo to shake

Smokescreen relaxed before clasping Optimus's servo in both his own.

"It's an honor to be here, especially with you." he said, his pent up emotions surfacing slightly in his attempt to remain calm

"Now what? It's not like we can just bring him back to base." Ratchet pointed out.

"Wouldn't be the first time and ally turned out to be a plant." Arcee added.

Optimus then turned and looked at Smokescreen thoughtfully for a moment before making a gesture towards an insignia on Smokescreen's shoulder

"I see you've received your training from Cybertron's Elite Guard."

"True enough, but it wasn't more than a boot camp when I joined, didn't even get a proper graduation ceremony."

"There was a war going on." Arcee snapped, irritated by his disappointed disposition.

"Hey all I ever wanted to be was a soldier, serve the Autobot cause, but what I got was security detail at Iacon." he defended.

"The Hall of Records of all places? Optimus do you not find this highly suspicious?"

Optimus merely began to question Smokescreen, no hint of suspicion or hostility in his tone.

"Smokescreen, what was your assignment inside the hall?"

"Guarding Alpha Trion in what turned out to be the final days of the war." he said quickly.

"You served under the master archivist?" Optimus inquired.

"Yeah I wasn't thrilled at first, watching the back of an old bot instead of kicking Con tailpipe!" Smokescreen said, punching his fist, his tone becoming excited once more at the mention of battle but froze when he saw the lax expressions of his audience.

"...Sorry, but the big A turned out to be a great teacher, and a true friend. I mean he was the one who petitioned Halogen in the High Council to make you a Prime." his voice broke once at the mention of his friendship towards the old mech.

Myra was immediately intrigued, something about this Mech stuck with her and she assumed from his connections, if they were real, would play a large role in coming events. That and despite his childish antics something about him was...curious. She assumed it had to do with his story but there was some other aspect she could not quite catch the direct definition for. He reminded her of someone...but she couldn't quite figure pick out who.

"Raphael, activate the Ground Bridge." Optimus ordered.

"That's it? That's all you need to hear before inviting him to the party?" Arcee questioned, clearly uneasy about the new bot.

"If my former mentor shared this information it is because he considered Smokescreen a trusted ally."

Myra smirked, Just like Orion, always looks between the lines.

She watched as they all disappeared into the ground bridge before leaving to conduct some research of her own on this new mech. She couldn't quite place it but there was something off about him, whether it was just his signature or his nature Myra was drawn to this Mech...and she intended to find out why.

Myra returned to the Harbringer, human of course, to report her findings to Knockout.

She would go to Megatron directly but she found it could be possible to strike two birds with one stone. Using her watch she jumped to Knockout's lab and sat on the table, watching as he fiddled with his tools as he attempted to buffer out the scratches on his spinal column, with little to no success.

Myra contemplated how she would announce her presence, and by the scowl on his face she chose to go with a simple gesture. Holding up a hand she made a low clearing of her throat sound, just loud enough the reach his audios.

The reaction was instantaneous, the buffer went off and his glare came out. Turning he looked at her, clearly ready to shoo her way when she stood, holding up a hand in peace.

"Before you say anything I have some news that might bring at least some consolation for what my kind has done to you."

Knockout's optics narrowed, but he remained silent, something Myra had almost left unaccounted for.

Taking a breath she began to speak.

"About a week ago I came across a bit of data, a pod had connected to the Harbringer and set it's coordinates to arrive on Earth. I managed to collect data about it and was there shortly after the pod landed."

"Yes yes, I know of it, it was the one the Autobots blew apart." Knockout snapped.

Myra held up her hand again and began to speak before Knockout could say more.

"Yes, however it was not just the Autobots, there was a new bot, and he wasn't a Decepticon."

Immediately his glare turned into a look of moderate surprise, Knockout was curious and Myra was somewhat relieved to see he was relaxing, even if it was only a little bit.

"The bot was an Autobot Rookie, from what I witnessed he had never seen a real battle before and is clearly a novice at the art of war." She explained.

Now he was intrigued, she could tell by how he shifted to face her fully before crouching closer to her, his optics twinkling at the data he was receiving.

"And?" he asked.

"I looked up his file, he was listed as a captive taken during the fall of Iacon. He was the assigned attendant of Alpha Trion and had escaped." she explained, there was much more to his story, but she wasn't willing to tell Knockout all she knew until she could piece together the entire puzzle.

Knockout smirked, pleased at the prospect the new information he had could be when he seemed to realize something and gave her a soft coy look.

"It's a real treat to hear this news, Megatron will be pleased." he said, an underlying tone in his voice.

Myra knew he would understand and just smiled in return.

"Yes, he will."

Myra sat on Knockout's shoulder as he relayed the information she had given him to the Decepticon Lord. After he finished Megatron turned, giving Myra a curious look before he faced Knockout.

"Your news is very assuring..however...I am curious to know how you came across such information, being that every Decepticon present was terminated."

Knockout didn't even hesitate in his reply.

"Myra was able to retrieve the information, not I, my Lord. No doubt it was from her fine tuned intuition and tactics that allowed her to retrieve such information undetected."

Myra looked at Knockout, she was beyond surprised, she was baffled. She stared at him, unable to register his complimenting comment as he sent her a calm glance while Megatron milled over what he had heard before turning away from them.

"Indeed it seems as I have begun to understand, a human factor really can make a significant difference in this war."

Megatron then turned to speak over his shoulder,

"This new recruit, if he was able to escape a highly guarded transport ship this new recruit may be more capable than we can predict at the moment. I want you to report anything new and significant you learn DIRECTLY to me the moment you receive it."

He then dismissed them and returned to his previous task of commanding his vessel.

Knockout nodded and made a slight bow, allowing Myra to place one hand on his helm to balance herself as she bowed along with him, before he righted himself and left the bridge.

As they left Myra sat and chanced a glance at Knockout, watching him intently as he walked down the halls. She looked away and was silent for a few moments before she ventured to vocalize her thoughts.

"You really are quite cunning with your words." she commented.

Knockout glanced at her, an optic ridge cocked in interest, a coy smile playing on his lip components.

"By what do you mean?" he asked not so innocently.

Myra smirked and turned her head in his direction.

"You not only praised me you simultaneously threw me under the bus and let me take the heat for not reporting directly to Megatron...however your actions also resulted in my better standing in his perception." she mused.

"I assume it's payback?" she asked knowingly.

Knockout only grinned slightly wider.

"Your assumption is correct, now we're even." he replied.

Myra smiled, a genuine appreciative smile before letting out a soft chuckle and leaned back comfortably on his shoulder.

"Watch the paint." he warned, though not without humor.

Myra laughed.

Guess who? ;)
