It was night and a blessed mother was at the hospital giving birth to her third child. Her husband was by her side holding her hand to support her through the pain.
"You can do it Sachiko," Soichiro encouraged.
"You're almost there Mrs. Yagami. I can see the head. You have to push harder," the doctor said.
"AAAHHH!" Sachiko shouted. After encouragements from her husband and the doctor and one final push a baby scream was heard. "Congratulation Mrs. Yagami, you have a beautiful healthy baby girl." He placed the newly born baby girl in her mother's arm.
"She's beautiful Sachiko," Soichiro exclaimed with pure joy on his face.
"We should go get Light and Sayu," she said. The father nodded and went to the door ready to anounce the arrival of the baby to their two other childen.
Outside, Light and Sayu Yagami were waiting patiently in the hallway. They couldn't wait to see the new member of their family. Light was 7 years old and Sayu was four years old. Even at the age of seven, Light was a brilliant young child. He couldn't wait to meet his new sibling and be able to take care of her like he did with Sayu. The young girl only understood that the family was having a new member. She didn't like the idea of not being the favourite of the family anymore, but Light explained that it wouldn't be like that. She would still be in her parents' heart and would be a big sister. That really got her excited.
"Do you know if it's going to be a boy or a girl Light onii-san?" she asked her older brother.
"I don't know Sayu," he answered. The door opened to reveal their father and both of them quickly got up impatient to hear the news.
"Are you ready to meet your new little sister?" he asked. Both siblings nodded with excitement. "Come on in". They quickly came inside and saw their mother holding a small bundle in her loving arms. They went to her bedside and saw the sleeping face of their newborn sister.
"She's adorable," Sayu squealed.
"Can I hold her?" Light asked eagerly.
"All right, but be careful dear," Sachiko said. She passed her to Light and he took her gently in his arms. She feels so light thought the young boy
"What's her name?" he asked.
"We wanted to wait for you two before we choose," their mother said.
"How about cute?" Sayu proposed. Her parents giggled at the idea.
"You can't name her that honey," Sachiko stated.
"Why not? She is cute," retorted the young girl.
"How about Seika?" Light inquired. Both parent glanced at each other and nodded. "That's a wonderful name son," ther father agreed.
"Well, it is a cute name I guess," Sayu added. Light glanced down at his sister and smiled fondly.
"Welcome to the family Seika Yagami."
Five years later
A young five-year-old girl was running around the park with the watchful eye of her big brother. She had shoulder length dark brown hair tied into two sided ponytails and had light brown eyes. Currently, her brother, Light, was now 12 years old.
"Light onii-sama! Look at me!" she called as she was swinging from the monkey bars.
"Be careful Seika," he cautioned. He came beside her to ensure her safety until she safely landed on the grounf.
"I did it," she beamed proudly.
"That's my little sister," Light cheered ruffling her hair. He peeked at his watch and it was almost time to go. "We should head back home. It's getting late."
"Noo! Not yet! Please big brother!" Seika begged. Light glanced at his watch again and thought a couple more minutes won't alarm their parents. "All right, but only five more minutes."
She hugged him and went back to the playground. He sat by the bench and noticed a newspaper unattended. He gave one last look at his sister and she was currently enjoying the slide. So, he took the paper started to read and it was the same as usual. The crimes weren't ceasing and the bad people were winning. There's so much hatred in the world. Will this chaos ever end? he thought. Suddenly, he heard the most terrifying yell he has ever heard. He quickly looked up and saw the most horrific sight. His sister somehow ended up in the street and got hit by a car. He quickly ran to her and the car went over her again and fled. He couldn't believe his eyes, but he didn't care at the moment. His sister was his priority and he ran up to her. Her legs were a terrible sight and there was so much blood.
"SEIKA!" he shouted as he knelt beside her. He didn't touch her as he was to frightened he would make things worst. He looked around frantically to see if there was anyone else. "SOMEONE! ANYONE! PLEASE HELP!" He was about to lose hope, but a lady soon came rishing by forgetting her grovery.
"Oh my goodness! What happened here?" she asked.
"We don't have time! Please, call an ambulance," he begged. She quickly got her cellphone and called for help. "Hello, I'm reporting an accident. A young shild was hit by a car. You have to hurry!". Light wasn't listening to her words. He was too occupied by his sister side and didn't want to believe it. After what seemed forever, he could finally hear the sirens coming. They quickly boarded Seika in the vehicule followed by Light.
Once at the hospital, Seika was quickly brought to the operation room. Light was ordered to stay ay the entrance and call his parents. The worried brother was sitting at the front of the operation and was tensed. Soon, he heard footstep and saw his parents with Sayu.
"Light! What happened!" Soichiro demanded. Light's fist tighted and he clenched his teeth.
"A car hit her and…" His fist was shaking as he still couldn't believe what that driver did. "He hit her and he fled! He left us! If it weren't for that lady Seika... Seika..." His mother quickly took her son in her arms to comfort him, but she had her own tears sliding down her face. Sayu was crying and Soichiro was holding trying to be strong, but failing. They waited for the doctors verdict and as time passed Light was getting nervous and impatient. Finally, the doctor came out of the room with a grim look.
"You are Seika Yagami's family?" the doctor asked.
"Y-Yes. How is she? Is she going to make it?" Soichiro asked.
"Is she going to make it?" Sachiko pressed. The doctor didn't answer any of their questions making them more nervous. "I would like to speak to the parents only," he requested.
"No! I want to know," Light opposed. "As you wish... At the moment she's stable, but the truth is the damage is grand for a five year old. As I've heard from the young boy. She was not hit once, but twice which increases the injuries."
"Will you please stop beating around the bush and tell us," The stressed father snapped.
"The truth is there is a very slim chance she will survive,"the doctor revealed. The news struck Light to the heart. He walked up to the doctor and gripped his smock covered in blood.
"What do you mean? You're a doctor! Your job is to help people get better!" he yelled.
"Light!" his father held him back, but her tried to fight back.
"YOU HAVE TO MAKE HER GET BETTER! YOU HAVE TO DAMMIT!" Light shouted. The doctor just gave him a neutral look as he was familiar with this look. "We'll do everything we can, but I suggest you spend the most of your time beside her." The doctor left and Light was shaking with anger and his fist flew to the wall.
"It's all my fault! If only I didn't take my eyes off of her! She wouldn't be in this state," he cried. The tears were flowing down his cheekas he couldn't control himself.
"Calm down Light," Sachiko cried, but she was also shaking. He went into her arms and the rest of the family soon joined trying to comfort each other from this terrible dark event.
One week later
It's been a week since the accident. Seika still didn't wake up from her coma state. Today was Saturday and Light was at the hospital as usual. He was sitting besides her and holding her hand. They still didn't find the person who hit her, but Light was determined to find him and make him pay.
"How are you doing today Seika?" he asked. There were no answer as usual. By now, we was use to her silence with only the sound of the machines keeping her alive. "I heard that even though people are asleep they could still hear you... I'm so sorry Seika. This is all my fault. If only I didn't take my eyes off of you." He squeezed her hand and gave a light peck on her cheek. "Would you please wake up." Tears threatened to fall again. Suddenly, he heard her monitor do a strange beep. A nurse soon came rushing in and leave within a minute. She came back with the doctor and panick was in his eyes.
"Young man, we will ask that you have to leave the room," he said.
"What why? What's going on?" he asked. The nurse took him gently by the arm. "Please follow me." He tried to resist her and got a glance at his sister. "Wait! What's going on? Seika!" the nurse brought him in the hallway and made him sit down.
"Please stay on this chair while I call your parents," she ordered and left in a hurry. Light stayed and he saw nurses rushingin the room. Moments later, his parents came running down.
"Mom, dad you're here," he said.
"We came as fast as we could," his father explained.
"Tell us what happened?" asked Sachiko. Light explained and his parents had troubled looks. "Where's Sayu?"
"She's at a friend's house and I didn't want to worry her," Soichiro answered. They waited again in the same hallway when Seika was hit by the car a while back. The doctor walked out and he had a very dark look on his face.
"Doctor, how is she?" Sachiko asked. Her voiced laced with a small glint of hope. He didn't answer and Light's eyes widen with terror. "No… She's not," he couldn't finish his sentence to much in shock. It was all going too fast.
"I'm sorry for your lost. It was sudden and there was nothing more we could do," he said. "You may enter and see her if you wish to see her one more time," he said and walked away. Light was the first one to enter and he went to his sister's side. He didn't want to believe what he was seeing, Seika's skin was so pale and she looked like a ghost of her former self. He took her hand and they felt so cold. Sachiko was weeping on her husband's shoulder and he too could not hold back his tears. Light's expression was beyond mad and filled with despair.
"SEIKA! PLEASE COME BACK!" he yelled. He let all the tears out. Suddenly, something happened. He heard the sound of a beep. He raised his head looked at her heart monitor. It was starting to work again.
Seika's POV
I don't remember how long I was in this darkness. I was scared and I wanted my big brother, mommy, daddy and big sister. I remembered seeing a cat across the street and wanted to pet him. That's when I saw this blinding light and next thing I know I'm here all alone. I ran all around trying to find a way back home or some sort of exit. Sometime I heard familiar voices and one of them was my Light.
"LIGHT ONII-SAMA!" I shouted. I was only met with an unbearing silence and tears started to roll down my cheek. Where was everyone? Suddenly, a blinding light came out of the darkness. The light was so pure and warmand felt attracted to it.
"I wouldn't go there if I were you," the voice of a woman said. I turned around and was met with the sight of a very pretty woman. She had wavy, long, black hair that reached her lower back and piercing red eyes with a tint of magenta. She wore a long, strapless, black dress that went to the floor which revealed a lot of her generous bust. In the center she had a tattoo of an elegant number seven.
"Who are you Miss?" I inquired. She gave me a smile and giggled.
"You're such an adorable child. It's sad that you had to die," she said. The question mark on my face made her realise I didn't know what she meant. "You don't remember? A car hit you as you were crossing the streets." That's when I came back to me. The blinding lights was from the car and it was coming so fast. I couldn't react fast enough.
"If you go to that light, you'll never see your precious family again," she declared. I started to panic at the news. "I want to see them again!" The woman had a mischievous grin. "Well, would you be interested in a deal?"
"What kind of a deal?" I asked.
"If I resurrect you, you have to be my host for the rest of your life," she answered.
"That's not possible! People can't come back," I exclaimed. She smirked at my phrase. "I have that kind of power to do the unthinkable." I grinded my teeth. I didn't want to hold on to something that weren't going to happen.
"W-What does being a host implies?"
"Nothing in particular I guess. Nothing dangerous will come to you. I may occasionally borrow your body, but that's about it," she explained. Then she seemed to be in thought. "However, at the moment I won't do anything to you. You are too young to bear my full powers. I'll wait a couple years." Then she extended her arm. "Do we have a deal Seika Yagami?" I thought about it deeply. She seemed very serious about it so it wasn't a prank and if it meant seeing my family again... I glanced at the woman right in her eyes and nodded firmly.
"Deal," I said. She smiled and her eyes started to glow a bright crimson "Perfect." A tornado of black feather started to surround us as I saw black wings come out from her back and she flew up. "I shall erase your memories of this meeting. You will regain them in the future. All my powers will be yours to share." Then a thought crossed my mind.
"What is your name Miss?" I asked even though I would forget.
"I am Lust one of the seven deadly sins. Farewell little one," she said. A light started to surround me and voices started to get louder and I recognized one of them.
"SEIKA! COME BACK TO US!" It was Light onii-sama.
"Onii-sama!" I screamed and went to the source of his voice.
No one's POV
The doctor and nurses quickly came when they heard the heart monitor beep again.
"This is a miracle," the doctor said with awe. "Her heartbeat is going back up and I feel a faint breathing," he said excited.
"Oh god thank you," cried Sachiko from happiness. Light was beyond happy and felt her sister hand shift.
"Quiet everyone!" he ordered. Everyone went silent as Seika slowly opened her eyes. Her light brown eyes were so tired and her gaze shifted to the face of her brother.
"Big brother," she said with a weak voice. Everyone smiled and expressed their joy. Light smiled at his little sister.
"Seika!" he exclaimed.
"L-Light," she said in a low tone. He placed her hand on his cheek and didn'T want to let go scared something bad would happen if he did.
"Welcome back little sister," he said with a big warm smile.
After her awakening, the doctors insisted in keeping het in just to make sure. She had a miraculous recovery. Her legs looked as if she never got hit and all her other injuries were healed. Soon, she returned home back to her family.
How was it? I know it's a bit boring, but hopefully it will get better as the story goes on.
