Hinata drummed her fingers against her desk in a repeated pattern, twirling a mechanical pencil in her other hand casually while staring down at the mathematical equation sitting in front of her. The teacher had been missing for over twenty minutes and the heiress doubted he would be coming back anytime soon. There was too much chatter going on in the classroom with rich students scattered all over the classroom, talking in large groups. Hinata sighed in relief to herself. So far, the Hiitachin twins had left her alone and Haruhi was probably studying herself. The two girls shared very similar habits. She glanced back down at the unsolved problems lined up and grunted. She needed to finish tonight's homework to practice martial arts. Hinata frowned. She had to fight against Neji tonight.
She checked her watch and exhaled in annoyance. It's been over thirty-five minutes by now. Yanking her hair tie off her wrist, she grabbed her dark hair and bundled it in a messy bun. Hinata grabbed her math book and flipped through the contents before finding the section they were currently on and scanned it for set of examples so she could solve the problems on the set of worksheets she received. Ah-ha! Hinata was thankful that she didn't need teachers in order to learn something new as long as she had a textbook with specific or general instructions.
"Hinata-chan~!" two deep voices cried out.
Hinata cringed and looked up from the textbook. Just as she thought, Hikaru and Kaoru were towering over her with smirks spread across their faces. "Y-yes?"
"Come play with us! We're bored!"
"Umm…" Hinata's gaze averted back to her homework and then to the twins. She offered a shaky smile and shook her head. "I-I'm sorry. But I really have to finish my homework for tonight."
She saw the crestfallen expression and hastily added, "B-But I'll come to the h-host club later!" Hikaru placed his slender fingers under her chin and tilted her face up, leaning closer to Hinata. Her pale face slowly became a darker shade of red as a second ticked by. "H-Hiitachin-san, you're g-getting too close."
"I know." Hikaru grinned when she flushed with embarrassment. Leaning away, he blew a puff of air into her ear teasingly. "Why are you doing your homework right now? You can work on that later."
Kaoru glanced down to see the worksheets spread about her desk. "Didn't we just get that today? Sensei didn't even give us the set of notes to help us understand what this section is about."
"Umm…I just figured out how to solve them by reading the textbook," Hinata mumbled nervously, twiddling with her index fingers. She brushed the loose strands of hair behind her ear and flashed them a tiny smile. "I have a match later with my cousin. I don't want to be exhausted later after I fight him."
"I want to see!" Hikaru and Kaoru simultaneously said.
"I-I'm sorry. It's a closed practice at home," she mumbled under her breath, scribbling away numbers on a piece of paper. When she wasn't looking, Kaoru gave Hikaru a sly look and began pacing away from the two before leaving them alone. Meanhile, Hinata wrinkled her forehead and bit the bottom of her lips to it was almost raw. How do I solve this problem? The numbers were slowly starting to become mixed together since she was on the last worksheet.
Hikaru watched the heiress struggle for a moment and huddled over her shoulder. He pointed out casually, "Try plugging in the expansion of sum formula." He had his moments of clarity.
Hinata craned her neck sideways and squeaked. Hikaru was extremely close for her liking. He saw how discomforted she was and smirked. "Is it possible that you have a crush on me, Hinata-chan?"
"E-eh?"
"Do you?"
The bell rang dismissing the students for lunch and Hinata shot out of her seat, gathering her school work. "I-I-I have to go! I need to study for tomorrow!" She shoved them in her bag and began hastily walking out of the room.
"Hinata-chan, wait!" Hinata stepped on the bottom of her long yellow uniform skirt and tripped, stumbling. She let go of her things and threw up her arms in hopes of shielding her face. There was a moment of silence. "You should really watch where you're going from now on. Honestly, you could have hurt that pretty face of yours."
Hinata opened her eyes cautiously to see what she was grabbing onto. "H-Hiitachin-san!" She was holding onto his light blue blazer tightly in a fist clench. The look of something akin to desire in his eyes made her heart began beating wildly against her chest. There were a bunch of cheers and screams coming from their classmates but she tuned them out. "Thank you," Hinata said breathlessly. Why was Hikaru making her feeling this way?
Hikaru was distracted by the feel of Hinata's curvaceous body. A shiver ran down his spine. He eyed her soft plump lips and found himself moving towards them before everyone started cheering. Balancing Hinata on the ground, he rubbed the back of his head and casually said, "It's fine. Just watch where you're going next time or you'll hurt yourself, " Hikaru grunted.
She nodded and picked up her things. "I have to go to the l-library…I'll see you later, H-Hikaru-san." Hinata scurried out of the classroom.
Hikaru gaped as Kaoru slung his arm over the twin's shoulders. "She called you by the first name."
"Yeah…and she actually got it right," Hikaru stated.
Haruhi walked past the two, rolling her eyes. "You two are idiots."
Hinata roamed around the quietest library in the entire school—fifth floor and left hallway. If she had to say, the reason why it was quiet would probably be the fact that majority of the students hated walking up the stairs. She shook her head and adjusted the rather large uniform on her body and groaned. She missed the silence of libraries for a long time. It was never so loud and clattery in public schools compared to private rich academies.
"Is there something that is bother you, Hyuuga-san?"
Thump.
Hinata gasped at the books she dropped and bent down to pick it up. Standing up, she met eyes with Kyouya staring blankly at her. "Are you all right, Hyuuga-san?"
"I'm okay." She shifted in her spot uncomfortably. Hinata hated being scrutinized by the older male. "How did you f-find this place? Most students are on the first three floors when it comes to the l-library."
"You're not the only who likes privacy in a place filled with knowledge," Kyouya replied carelessly. He didn't miss the way she took a step back from him. He instantly noted down the fact that Hinata may have possibly disliked him. That would not be a good sign. If he wanted to impress his father, he needed to be on better terms with the heiress to ensure the future of the Ootori Corporation. He smiled at Hinata politely. "How are you on this lovely day, Hyuuga-san?"
Hinata held the book even tighter to her chest. "Today has been…" She recalled all the huge events that happened up to this point and sighed in exhaustion. She hung her head. "It has been all right." Things could have been worse but she would take all the peace she could get.
"You seem displeased," Kyouya said bluntly.
She shook her head. "I have a problem with the students in this s-school."
He pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose. "And what exactly would be the problem with the students?"
"Ummm…" Hinata grimaced. She hated confrontations like this but she felt the need to vent out her misery. Surely he would make a complaint to the school counselors since he was the ranked first in school based on intelligence. "I-It's just…" His stare was extremely intense and she felt what little confidence was in her leave. She shrugged her shoulders. "It's nothing Ootori-san. This school is p-perfectly excellent." Her voice sounded choked even to her own ears.
Kyouya continued to scrutinize her completely before he nodded. "I see. But if you do have any actual complaints to make about the school in general, be sure to tell me. I will do my best to make the education and environment safer and improved." He saw her eyes widen in shock. His lips twitched upwards, slightly amused. "I hope you have a good day, Hyuuga-san."
"Errm…Y-you too. Thank you, Ootori-san." Hinata brushed off his comment and padded off to an empty corner in the library for privacy.
Socializing with the host club had to be the worst decision Hinata's ever made.
"Hina-chan! Guess what I made in class today?" Honey asked, twirling around the younger girl. The blonde-haired boy grinned at her cheerfully. He was snuggling against Hinata like a Cheshire cat, humming in enjoyment.
Hinata giggled at his behavior, ruffling his hair playfully. She felt at ease with Honey, even when she knew he was older than her. Perhaps it was because of his very young looks that made her think he was a child. But Hinata also knew that she should never take him lightly because of his reputation circling around martial artists being the most fearless prodigy there was. Meanwhile she was still trying to make a reputation herself in that circuit. Hinata genuinely smiled at Honey. "What did you make in class today, Honey-sempai?
Taking a rather small object out of his school bag excitedly, Honey held it between his fingertips. It was a string with a miniature bunny dangling from the red string itself. "I made this keychain for you Hina-chan! You reminded me of a bunny so I thought you would appreciate it!" Honey objected gleefully. "You can put this on your cellphone. Like a strap! That way you'll never lose it. If you do, you would always recognize your phone because of Hana-chan!"
"Hana-chan?"
"Yeah! I named the tiny bunny Hana-chan!" Honey replied without hesitation. He pursed his lips and tilted his head. "Do you not like it?"
"N-No! Of course I like it!" Hinata said, taking the keychain out of Honey's hand gently. She hastily took out her cell phone and attached the keychain to it. She held it up, letting the small pink bunny dangle. "See? It's cute."
Honey threw his arms up in the air with a grin. "Yay! Hina-chan liked my presents!"
"Yes. It's very cute," she replied.
Honey suddenly hugged her, wrapping his hands around her waist and snuggling into her chest cutely. "You're so nice Hina-chan! I just want to…fall…" His eyes were starting to close slightly and he yawned. "I want to fall asleep…" He was knocked out instantly and began snoring softly.
Hinata's eyes flickered a couple of times, shocked. She glanced around the Host Club room to find that everyone else was busy with their own customers, leaving her with the Lolita. Well…her eyes shifted to the side to find Mori sitting right next to Honey, staring into space silently. When he felt eyes directed on him, Mori looked in her direction. She smiled hesitantly at him. Mori only returned it with a vacant expression. "H-How are you?"
Mori automatically answered, "I'm fine."
"Ah. That's good…." Hinata looked back down at the tiny boy in snuggling against her, sleeping. She giggled. Honey was too cute for his own good.
"He has taken a liking to you."
"Eh? Honey-senpai?"
"Yes," Mori nodded.
"I guess...Honey-senpai is a very nice person to me." Hinata hastily added after Mori nodded, "You're a very n-nice person too!" She saw the twitch of corner of his lips from amusement and blushed, clearly abashed.
"Ah."
She deflated at his response. The conversation had become dead with his one worded response. Hinata checked the time on her watch and squeaked. Honey's eyes snapped open and he jumped away from her when she got off the couch. "I have to go! My cousin is waiting for our match!" Hinata yanked her bag off the floor and scurried out of the room shouting as loud as she could, "I'll come back tomorrow!"
Mori crossed his arms. "You weren't asleep."
Honey smiled casually and threw his legs on the table before him, "Nope." The eldest toyed the matching keychain he made Hinata in his pocket and grinned. "Takashi, I like her."
The taller male narrowed his eyes. Behavior from Honey did not surprise him. Whenever the heir was fond of someone or something, he wanted it. Be it now or later. However, problems would occur because Honey had a possessive feeling towards Hinata when there was another male that formed a crush on her before the eldest. Then…Mori's eyes caught Kyouya's and he frowned. There was always another possible romantic option for the girl. Mori closed his eyes and grunted."Ah."
"I should ask her out."
"Mitsukuni."
"Hm?"
"Be careful."
I have no clue who I want Hinata to end up with. Reviews are nice.
