OOH LOOKIE! An update!

No no no… It couldn't be true. Batman was her dad? But how? Why did he not tell her anything, why did her mom not tell her anything?

Angela was sitting down on the floor, her cheeks stained with dried tears.

Kathy had told her everything, no she had showed her everything. Batman….. No Angel was her dad, he had loved her mom, but he called her Buffy. She didn't understand that… why would anyone call her mom by another name… what kind of a funky name was Buffy anyways?

They were together and they were happy. Angel was a vampire, but a nice one just like Spike. But then Angel left her mom and went away. She didn't know why but he did, and then mommy came here.

Why did Angel leave? Why did mommy?

Angela remembered that her friend Tracy's dad had stopped living with them. Tracy said it was because her mom and dad didn't love each other anymore. So that was it, her mom and Angel did not love each other.

Angela shook her head; but why did Angel not visit her like Tracy's dad did? Maybe he didn't love her either.

Was she really that bad…

"Angela….. Angela"

Angela looked up with red-rimmed eyes. Kathy was looking at her with concern.

"Are you alright sweetheart?"

Angela looked at Kathy for a while before nodding her head vigorously. Of course she was okay, she was Angela, she would be okay no matter what. She whipped her tears and stood up. She was not going to cry over a dad who did not want her.

"You said I could help my mom." She said with a slight wobble.

Kathy smiled and nodded. "Yes you can, but we need your father."

"No we don't" Angela shook her head. "He doesn't even want to be my father."

Kathy sat down next to her Indian style as Angela wiped her tears away with the back of her hand.

"Angela" Kathy said softly.

"What?" Angela mumbled.

"It doesn't matter if your father doesn't want you." Kathy said. "The real question is, what do you want?"

Buffy looked up from her research as the knock sounded on the door.

"I got it" Xander got up and ran to the door hoping for some good news.

Faith looked grim as she brushed past Xander and made a beeline to the mini fridge.

Connor followed behind looking no better.

"Is either of you going to say something?" Cordelia snapped.

Faith took out a can of beer and took a large gulp. Sighing she turned around.

"There is no sign of her." She muttered. "We looked everywhere we could. Shook up more demons that I have slayed in my entirety but nada."

Buffy turned to Connor hoping for some reassurance in vain.

Angel brought down his arm on the table shattering the jug in the process and spilling water o the books.

"Okay" Cordelia stood up. How about we stop destroying the Wesley's first editions and try to do something that would actually help.

"Yeah like what Cordy?" Angel snarled.

"Hey man" Gunn stepped in. "She is just trying to help."

"Well she is not very good at it is she?" Xander said pointedly.

"Guys…" Wesley said with his palms up. "How about we just calm down…"

"Calm down" Buffy jerked up from her chair. "Would you all calm down if it was your daughter who disappeared with some primordial evil being."

"We all care about Angela Buffy" Giles said softly.

Buffy gave a mirthless laugh. "You don't even know her."

"That's not fair" Giles said.

"I don't care" Buffy yelled. "I… I gotta get out of here"

Buffy stormed out of the room.

Buffy wandered through the empty streets. The slight chill in the night air made her fold her arms on her chest in an attempt to warm herself. She wondered if Angela was cold too.

She didn't know where to look or what to do any more. She didn't know how to help her baby girl.

"Buffy"

Buffy closed her eyes and sighed.

"What is it Angel."

"We will find her Buffy."

"How" Buffy swung around, her brown hair flipping behind her. "How exactly will we find her Angel. And even if we do… then what?"

"What do you mean?"

"She left on her own." Buffy reminded him. "I don't know what the first told her, but whatever it was convinced Angie that leaving with it was the right thing. She said she will make everything right." Buffy ran her hand through her hair in frustration. "You don't know her Angel. She is stubborn; if she thinks she can help us she will do everything she can to do so… and with the first manipulating her… I don't even know what it wants from her."

"Hey" Angel held her shoulders. "You are right, she is stubborn. But she is also smart and strong." Angel smiled. "She has your spirit Buffy and no one will ever be able to break her. This I am sure of." He caressed her cheek and pressed a kiss on her forehead.

"Now breathe."

Buffy closed her eyes and did just that.

Leaning into Angel she took in his scent, willing herself to remain calm."

Angel suddenly clenched at her back and groaned.

"Angel… What is it?" Buffy pulled back and asked in concern.

"I… I… Oh God" Angel fell to his knees and clutched at his chest.

"Angel… "

"It's the first… and Angela." He gasped. "they are doing something… something to me" Angel groaned in pain. "Its strong magic, I can feel them in my veins."

"Its okay Angel" Buffy whispered as her hands fluttered helplessly over him. "I… lemme call the gang, we will fix this."

Buffy flipped out her cell and placed a call.

"No time" Angel grabbed her arm. "I know where our daughter is."
