Chapter 10: There Will Be Blood

"W-Who are you?" Kakashi asked in awe. Right in front of him were three people that he cared deeply for. People that were supposed to be dead, not be standing in front of him!

"My name is Toki," the man said and jumped down, behind the three resurrected people.

"Why didn't you protect Rin, Kakashi?" Obito asked.

"What?" the silver haired main said in shock.

"I asked you to protect her."

"You failed your friends, Kakash," Sakumo said in a harsh voice.

"You failed us, Kakashi. You're a failure," Rin said.

Their eyes started to glow in an unnatural light; their left eye was glowing in purple, while their right one was glowing red. An upside down cross appeared on their forehead.

"What is going on…?" Kakashi asked.

"A blast from the past, Kakashi, isn't it?" Toki asked with a smirk.

"Why are you doing this? A-And why are you three here? You're dead!"

"Yes! Dead! Because of you!" Obito shouted.

"What?"

"You're a lazy shinobi and a horrible friend. You can't do anything right!" Rin shouted.

"You let that Uchiha boy fall into the hands of Orochimaru," Sakumo said.

"H-How do you know that…?"

"They know everything, Kakashi," the black haired male, Toki, said. "They've always been with you. Or at least their souls have been. And when I brought them back to life, their souls have been, of course, resurrected as well."

"No! You're lying! T-They aren't evil!"

"Who said they're evil?" Toki asked with a smirk. "They're just simply angry at you for failing them."

Kakashi shook his head and looked down. This couldn't be happening. It had to be a genjutsu! He made the hand sign for a genjutsu release, but nothing happened.

"Forget it, Hatake. This isn't a genjutsu. This is reality."

"And reality hurts," Obito said and jumped towards Kakashi. He made a fist and punched the silver haired male, sending him flying into a tree.

Kakashi hit the tree full force, causing some minor pain in his back and head, but he remained conscious. He fell to the ground, and quickly tried to get up, only to realize that the hit was stronger than he thought; his hands and legs were shaky, and his heart was going crazy! "I… Why am I shaking so much?"

"Are you scared, Kakashi?" Toki asked with an evil smirk. He walked to the silver haired male and kicked him in the stomach, causing Kakashi to drop to the ground again.

"Ugh… Why… Why are you doing this?" He quickly tried to make a weak Chidori with his hands, but Toki kicked him again.

"Candy is sweet, but revenge is sweeter."

"Revenge? What did I ever do you?" Kakashi asked with a grunt and tried to stand back up.

"You ruined my whole life!" Toki shouted and kicked Kakashi again, causing him to hit the tree again. "I lost everything because of you!" he shouted again and kicked the man again. He kept kicking and kicking until Kakashi was bleeding out of his nose and mouth.

The silver haired male was in immense pain. This Toki guy's kicks were stronger than a usual kick. His body was releasing endorphins to ease the pain, but it wasn't working. His pain wasn't just physical, it was also psychological. A rush of natural morphine wouldn't do it; he would need years and years of therapy to cope with his feelings, feelings he had been suppressing for years.

What exactly does 'suppressing emotions' mean? Essentially, emotional suppression is a type of emotion regulation strategy - these are strategies that we use to try to make uncomfortable thoughts and feelings more manageable. There are many different emotion regulation strategies, and some are more helpful than others. For example, some people turn to alcohol or drugs to get rid of painful emotions. While this may work as an emotion regulation strategy in the short term, it definitely has bad long-term consequences.

Suppressing emotions, or just trying to push emotional thoughts and feelings out of your mind, is an emotion regulation strategy many people use. And, when used from time to time, it doesn't have dramatic negative consequences like drug or alcohol use. But, there is reason to believe that if you try to push emotions away all the time, emotional suppression could lead to problems.

And Kakashi was going to have to deal with those emotions and get over them in the next few seconds, or else he'll die. And dying wasn't on his short list.

Naruto was jumping from tree to tree still looking for Kakashi, trying not to panic. He picked up Kakashi's chakra a few minutes ago. He felt Kakashi. And even though it was a very weak spark he didn't care, it was good enough for him, because it meant Kakashi was still alive. "I'm coming for you, Kakashi."

"What do you mean you lost everything?" Kakashi managed to ask, desperately breathing for air.

Toki humped and kicked him again. "Does mission 501385127 ring any bells? Assassination of the Miju clan?"

"Miju…," Kakashi repeated the words, searching for the answer in his brain. "Wait… I remember… But what does that have to do with you?"

"I was the last survivor of the clan! You killed my entire family, you bastard!" Toki screamed and kicked Kakashi again.

"Ugh," Kakashi grunted in pain. How he wished his emotions weren't getting the best of him. It was all so sudden, seeing his deceased loved ones after so many years. Realizing they hate him. He tried so hard…

"So," Kakashi managed to get out, "why don't you just kill me? Get it over with… avenge your clan…"

Toki laughed. Actually laughed. "That'd be easy, wouldn't it? Killing you. Sparing you the pain. Putting you out of your misery. No, I'm not going to kill you. At least not now. I'm going to torture you slowly and painfully. Death is a sweet release, and I'll make sure you don't get to feel it for quite some time."

Kakashi grunted. He should have known Toki was going to torture him.

The cloaked male was about to pick Kakashi up when he was suddenly pushed away. He looked at the source and realized a blond boy pushed him away. He kicked him away and the boy vanished, leaving behind a cloud of white smoke. "Damn it!" Toki yelled as he caught himself on his feet.

"Kakashi!" Naruto said as he jumped onto the ground next to Kakashi. Two of his clones jumped in front of them, protecting them. "Oh God… Kakashi!" Naruto yelled and picked up Kakashi. He was bleeding and looked extremely exhausted. He was barely breathing.

"Na…ru….," Kakashi managed to breathe out.

"Shhh, don't talk," Naruto said with teary eyes.

"Leave him! He's mine!" Toki yelled and jumped towards the two Naruto clones.

The clones responded quickly, creating a Great Rasengan and counter-launching towards Toki. Toki underestimated their speed and was hit by the jutsu.

"Come on, Kakashi, let's get you away from here!" Naruto said, giving Kakashi a piggy-back ride.

"Naruto…," Kakashi tried saying, but was cut off by the blond saying, "I told you not to talk! Save your energy!"

Naruto jumped away, leaving his two clones to fight Toki.

"No! My plan won't be ruined by some meddling punk!" Toki shouted and stomped his foot, shaking the earth. Two pillars shot from the earth, destroying the shadow clones. "After them!" he ordered the resurrected trio and jumped after Naruto and Kakashi, the trio following him.

Naruto was frantically jumping from tree to tree, going back to Konoha. Sadly, the village was quite some time away. Even if they weren't being followed by a psycho maniac, it would still take them around 2 days.

He felt his two clones being killed instantly. He swallowed the lump in his throat and jumped to the ground. He created 3 more clones and quickly continued the run.

Toki and the trio soon encountered the trio. "You take care of these three, I'll follow Hatake and the boy!" he ordered and fled away.

Eventually Naruto got out of the forest. He was now running across a giant meadow, Toki not too far behind him. 'This is pointless! He's not going to stop and I can't keep on running almost 2 days constantly!' Naruto thought.

He stopped and put Kakashi down. "Wha-" Kakashi tried saying but couldn't find the strength.

"Sage Mode!" Naruto yelled. You see, Naruto had a clone hid away, collecting natural energy. "I'm not letting you die, Kakashi! You're my partner and I'll stand until my last breath to protect you!"

"My, my, how heartwarming," Toki said, suddenly appearing.

Naruto laughed, "as if you have a heart."

"Good point," the other male said. "Fire Release: Running Fire!" Toki shouted, creating a stream of fire, entrapping Naruto and Kakashi in a ring of fire.

"Sage Art: Repeated Rasenshuriken!" Naruto shouted and started creating two rasenshurikens in his hands. The spinning jutsus swallowed the flames, starting to burn. "Sage Art: Flaming Repeated Rasenshuriken!" Naruto yelled and jumped towards Toki. When he was close enough he threw them both at him.

Toki was unfortunately fast enough and avoided the attack. The two flaming rasenshurikens created fiery tornados after hitting the ground.

Naruto jumped after Toki and started kicking and punching him. Toki was barely blocking Naruto's strikes.

"Argh!" Toki shouted and released a dark pulse from his hand, sending Naruto flying back.

Luckily Naruto managed to catch himself on his legs. "Shadow Clone jutsu!" he shouted and created 3 clones. The teen held out his hands to his sides and two clones started molding chakra in his hands. The third one jumped towards Toki, trying to distract him to buy Naruto as much time as possible.

"Stupid boy!" Toki shouted as his eyes widened. Naruto's clone stopped moving and was starting to get surrounded in a dark light. "Dark Release: Anguish!" Toki said and the clone was gone in a blaze of black fire in a matter of seconds. "You're not going to ruin my plan, you stupid brat!" Toki's eyes started to glow in a dark purple color.

"Think again," Naruto quietly said as his two clones vanished. He was now holding two green Rasengans in his hands. "Sage Art: Enhanced Rasengan!"

The blond jumped towards Toki and started bringing the two rasnengans to the front. "It's over, freakshow!"

The two jutsus hit the man and a giant spinning green sphere surrounded him. Naruto quickly jumped to Kakashi, picked up him up and jumped away. The sphere kept getting bigger and bigger, shredding everything in its way.

Somewhere in the forest the resurrected Obito, Rin and Sakumo started falling apart. Their skin was shedding faster and faster. Eventually all there was left were their bones and dust.

The green sphere disappeared and Naruto checked to see if Toki was gone. All there was left was a severely injured corpse. Yup, dead.

Naruto was carrying Kakashi on his back the last 2 days, and he still didn't let the man speak. 'Goddamn it, Kakashi, I told you to conserve your energy' was mostly everything Naruto said these last days.

Finally he saw Konoha. "Thank God!" he exclaimed. It didn't matter that he was hungry, thirsty and exhausted beyond normal, all that mattered was that his Kakashi was safe, and that his killer was dead.

So Naruto brought the older man to the hospital, got him checked in and somehow managed to persuade Tsunade not to beat the old scare crow up.

"I'll be back later," said Naruto with a warm smile to Kakashi and left with Tsunade for her office.

"So, care explaining to me why the hell you two have been gone for the past several day, and why is one of my best shinobi in the hospital?"

"Maaa,Grandma-Tsunade," Naruto said, sitting on Tsunade's desk, "it's a pretty long story."

"I'm listening, brat," the blonde woman said, "and get off my table, damn it!"
