Oh, look at the time. It has been four years since the last chapter. I've been back to Fanfiction lately re-reading old stories, and I thought, if you are so angry that those authors don't update, what can you say for yourself? Surprise, surprise! Here's Chapter 6 of Kuroko Takuya. More notes at the end.
Kuroko 's sitting outside the emergency room with his mother. His mom looks down at her second youngest and tries her best not to cry. Kuroko is swinging his tiny legs without stopping, his face pale, and small hands gripping the edge of the plastic chair.
"Tetsuya," His mother starts, "Its nothing serious; your brother would be fine."
She places her hand on the side of his head and pulls him to her chest, "So stop being so worried honey, you're making your Mom nervous too."
He looks up at her, blue eyes so glassy she knows that one little push and he would be crying buckets. She bites the inside of her cheek to stop the surge of emotions bubbling on her throat. She is his mother after all, she should set an example and act strong.
"I know he will be okay," He says silently, "I just- its all because of me."
She cards her fingers on Kuroko's hair, sniffling. "Hush, Tetsuya. Your brother loves you a lot, he won't be blaming you."
"He might not, doesn't mean its not because of me."
Before she can say something to dismiss the thought from her youngest, the radiologic technologist who x-rayed Takuya's leg approached them.
"Kuroko-san?" The specialist asks. Kuroko's mother nods, expecting the worst but hoping for the best.
Sighing, the specialist finally speaks. "Takuya-kun broke a bone. As I have gotten from his statement, it was because of a basketball game. He won't be playing for a while, and he will be needing surgery and therapy to cope with this."
Kuroko jumps from his seat, his mother shouting after him. "Tetsuya!"
He pushes open the room to the x-ray laboratory and sees Takuya sitting on a wheelchair with his right leg propped up.
"Onii-chan!"
Takuya turns away from where is staring at the wall to look at his younger brother. Kuroko's biting his bottom lip, hands on both sides of his elbows as if he's hugging himself.
Takuya pinches the bridge of his nose, and says, "Tetsuya, I don't really want to see you right now."
8 years after
"Tetsuya-chan! Wake up right now!"
Kuroko opens his eyes and closes it immediately when the sun rays sneaking through his curtains hit his vision directly.
"Tetsuya-chan?" Takuya asks from the other side of the door, his incessant knocking coming to a halt.
Sighing, Kuroko throws his white comforter to the side and stands upright. "I'm up."
"Breakfast is ready, so come out soon, okay?"
Maybe it's because of the dream, or that he isn't used to having his brother's presence around again, but all Kuroko could think of was, 'I'm ready to atone for what I did to you, so how sooner can you forgive me?'
So there you have it; a very short chapter to mark the beginning of me updating this story again. I actually just wanted to leave an author's note that I' am back at it again, but here's a mini chapter for all of you waiting. The plot is finally thickening (after four years), and I have pushed down the writer's block hindering my path to updating this.
The KnB community has become so big, and I feel like a proud mother. To those who hate Takuya's personality, I agree with you. But him having an awful personality gives him room for character development. This is dedicated to everyone who has subscribed to this story, put it on their favourites, and those who have taken the time to harass me into updating (mind you, I'm using the word 'harass' lightly). All 510, 424, and 152 of you; I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Also, not beta-d because I'm too excited to put this out.
