"Harry" I said as he stepped forward.

"You lied to me. You had the ring all along" Harry spat out. Several guns where pointed at us, and I was sure that this was the end. How could we escape from this?

"You can't have the ring. Don't you realize how danger all of this is? You could destroy history – our kind" I explained, trying to rationalize Harry's mind. I was having one last hope that my friend Harry really was in there somewhere, and that he hadn't completely lied about who he was.

"I am going to better this world, make it worth it, and everyone will worship me for doing so" He said, making me realize he was completely crazy.

"Harry, you're not in your right mind. Can't you see how absurd all of this, you will destroy everything; I can't let you do that. I don't care if you lied to me; I still care about you – even if I have to stop you from doing this." I said, determined to die in order to make this right. This is my destiny, maybe this is what Galadriel meant when she said I had a burden to bear. At the right time I had to take the decision to sacrifice myself, a fate she knew would come to me and I had to be prepared for.

"I won't let a silly girl like you take the glory from me. I bet you just want the rings for yourself. I won't let you stop me from doing this. You are not worth anything! I'm sad you didn't die when I thought I got rid of you" Harry said, his hands shaking with fury and he had tears in his eyes from anger. Legolas was quick to jump to my defense from what he had said.

"Do not dare speak about Kierra like this. She is worth a thousand more men than you" Legolas said, stepping in front of me, prepared for fighting Harry if necessary.

"So this is the famous Lego-man from the films. You look shorter in real life than what I imagined you to be" Harry said, a slight side smile appeared on his lips in a short amusement.

"You said the ring was starting to lose its energy. What does that mean? What will happen with the ring?" I asked, remembering what he said when we first got here. Harry stopped looking at Legolas and stared at me instead. He was clenching his fingers around his gun that was still pointed at Legolas.

"Let me tell you a little story. Once upon a time this ring was one piece. It was the most powerful weapon of all time. No one knows who created it, but the creator realized what he had done. What he had made. If this ring was known throughout the world, he would be hunted forevermore. So he made an attempt to destroy it, but the ring was more powerful than so. It had life not even the creator was aware of. It got separated instead into two pieces. Today the rings are losing its energy because it was meant to be joined together, to make one powerful piece. Now it is losing its power because they are separated. Despite the power losing its effect, the power will still be there, waiting to be joined once more" He told us as Legolas and I was listening.

This story did sound familiar to lord of the rings and the ring that Sauron possessed. There had to be a way to destroy it. All life has to end somehow, the same goes with power. If it has a beginning, it has to have an end.

"I won't let you have it!" I shouted at the same time a bomb went off.

I fell down trying to focus on where Legolas were, I couldn't see him but I knew he was right next to me. I motioned for him to follow me to the front door. I crawled on the floor to try to breathe through the smoke. My vision was blurry and I was coughing. That's when I noticed Legolas wasn't following me, I crawled back. He had fainted, I tried the best I could to drag him with him. With his light body it wasn't too difficult but the smoke was distracting me. As I opened the door, I dragged him to the corner, hiding us behind a dumpster.

As I was waiting for Legolas to wake up, someone tapped my shoulder and I screamed.

"shh..! Be quiet girl or they'll find us. We need to get a better hiding spot" my boss whispered. I couldn't believe he was here after everything. At first I focused on the confusion and everything that just happened.

"Henry? What just happened? Who placed that bomb? Why are you here?" I couldn't start with just one question, there were too many. The questions were flooding out of my mouth.

"I'll explain everything later, but right now you have to come with me. I own a small cabin up this road. It will hide us" He said as he took Legolas and I stepped forward helping him. We carried Legolas up the road, the smoke was still coming from the library and I could start hearing sirens not too far from there. We got into the cabin and we placed Legolas on the couch that was there.

It looked like it was a rotten cabin from the outside, as if it was near collapsing. From the inside everything was modern. There were computers everywhere on desks around the only room there, apart from the bathroom. I wouldn't expect such a high tech place from my boss who was in his 40s. He took a seat in front of one of the computers that were monitoring the cameras in the street. Henry's thick square glasses hang loose on his nose. He wore a black knitted vest with a red pattern, probably a gift from his mother, on a light striped dress shirt. I couldn't say his dress code was anything fancy, but at least his equipments were. I never knew he owned such a place. Before I could do anything, I made sure Legolas was alright.

Legolas forehead had been cut. He must have fell down and hit his when the bomb hit. I got some water and a cloth and washed his wounds carefully. It didn't look bad.

"I think you owe me an explanation" I said to Henry, not looking at him, still tending Legolas's cut.

"I'm sorry I got you in to this mess" He started with and I scoffed. He hesitated before he continued.

"Harry was on to me and if I didn't get his mind on someone else for a while, I wouldn't have been able to build this place or track Harry back and find out what he was up to" he explained, looking at me from the side. I stopped washing Legolas's cut and stood up and walked over to him.

"How could you get me into this mess? Why didn't you pick someone else? Why ruin my life?" I said a bit louder, and looked around as if someone was outside listening.

"Don't worry the walls are soundproof" He said and looked at me before he continued.

"I knew I could trust you. I knew you could do this task. Harry had befriended you and he knew I would give up the ring to you, so I did. I worked out what his plans were and now I may have the upper hand with your help. "Henry said, wildly sure about his plans.

"Besides, if I never gave you the ring, you would never have met Legolas or be in middle earth" He added, thinking it would help me get less angry at him.

"It still doesn't justify that you got me into this mess" I said a bit more quietly, although I knew where Henry was coming from. My life was a lie either way. Harry was never my friend, and Henry might have even saved my life. God knows what Harry could have done to me if I never was involved in this case as he thought. He could have got rid of me if I hadn't.

"Legolas should have woken up by now" I stated worriedly.

"I gave him sedatives, he should rest. The cut on his head seem to be worse than it is" Henry explained as he went back to watching the cameras.

"If you knew that, then he needs to go to the hospital!" I screamed, more worried than before.

"If he goes to the hospital the doctors are going to start questioning why a man dressed like Orlando Bloom as Legolas and the fact that the ears aren't fake. He'll be fine, he just needs to rest" He said trying to calm me down.

"Why should he need to rest? He's an elf" I said.

"He's immortal, not invincible. He just needs to rest, and so do you. When was the last time you ate or drank anything" Henry said. I felt my lips and they were all chapped, since I ran away from Harry from middle earth there hasn't been much to eat or drink. We got some food and water from from Richard and the wizard just before I was kidnapped. I knew I was overreacting, but something didn't feel right.

"You're right. Do you have something?" I asked, looking around.

"Yeah, the fridge is over there, help yourself" Henry said with a smile, watching the cameras again.

Once I had some food and something to drink, I wrapped a blanket around me. I lied down on the space that was left on the sofa next to Legolas, and closed my eyes. When I woke up the time was in the middle of the day. There were no windows so I couldn't tell from the outside. Legolas was still by me, asleep.

"You should change. I brought some clothes from your apartment, and I got Legolas some clothes as well. He should change, to blend in" Henry said and pointed to a bag next to me. I was wondering how he got into my apartment when I noticed my keys next to the table. I must have slept heavy if he got the keys from my necklace, where I had placed the ring. The ring was still attached to the chain and I picked it up and placed it around my neck again. I changed out of the dirty white dress that I had received from Rivendell, and changed into jeans and a purple top. It felt nice to wear some modern clothes again. I had never been a dress person.

I brought coffee for Henry when I saw Legolas's eyes fluttered. He was mumbling something I couldn't understand and I kneeled down in front of him, stroking his head as if it would comfort him.

"Legolas" I said as his eyes opened. He sat up in a sitting position and felt his head.

"You must have fell down when the bomb hit. Are you feeling ok" I said and I didn't know why but something made me stroke his cheek and I smiled. He looked confused.

"Kierra" He said and I nodded, waiting to see if he was alright.

"It is like as if I am meeting you for the first time" He said and I was the one who got confused.

"Legolas, what do you mean?" I said, staring at him.

"I remember everything we have been through, but my feelings, my purpose, here have changed. As if I do not really know you" Legolas said and I had no idea what he was on about. His sentences came out in no sense of order and I couldn't make out what he was saying. I looked at Henry, who was staring at him.

"I believe he remembers everything apart from the feelings for you" Henry explained and I looked back at Legolas as if he would protest. Legolas nodded and I could feel my stomach sink. How could he forget everything he felt for me? I couldn't do anything but stare at him, and he looked down as if he was ashamed or sad. I couldn't make out anything anymore, and I couldn't bring any words to say. Even if forgot he loved me as more than a friend, I wouldn't want him to lose our entire friendship.

"I'll leave you two alone" Henry said, suddenly dumbfounded and nervous. He took his laptop and walked into the bathroom.

"I am truly sorry I do not remember my feelings. I will not leave you now. I will help you with the task to fight Harry, I promise you that. Harry shall not destroy your world or mine." He said determined and I admired his promise. I did wish he still felt the same for me, but at least he didn't lose the memory of me.

"Then we need a plan" I said, standing up. I was ready to take on Harry as if it was my last breath. I was already too involved; nothing could stop me from this now.

Hey! after nearly 2 years my story is back on. I will not promise that I will upload that often as university starts back up soon, and I had some inspiration over the holidays. I will however be very excited and wanting to write more when I get happy reviews, so don't be afraid to write a comment. This is my story and I use it for more of a hobby, therefore if there is any major grammar faults, do tell me, but if it's just minor there's no need to. I hope you had a good holiday and is ready for the new year of 2015. I hope you enjoyed this chapter :)
