Sky-chan: Yay! I'm finally getting these up. I'm so sorry to everyone for taking so long to update this.
Sky-chan: This one is G2772. It was requested by StupidMeong. They asked for Schoolmate Giotto and Family HDW Tsuna. I'm sorry if it's not how you would have thought, this was the only idea I came up with.
"Talking"
'Thinking'
There she was. Sawada Tsunahime, one of the school idols. She tended to be clumsy and she didn't have the best grades, but she made up for it with her kind personality and beauty. She had spikey brown hair that reached the middle of her back and large brown eyes. She was usually seen wearing a smile. Tsuna was currently talking to one of her closest friends inside of her classroom.
Now, you might be wondering who was watching the teen and making these observations. The boy staring at the younger female was named Ieyasu Giotto. The teen had short, spikey blond hair and blue eyes. He was well liked among most of his classmates, but he still couldn't bring himself to talk to the one person he wanted to the most.
Giotto has had a crush on the brunette since their first day of middle school. The blond had been sitting at his desk waiting for the teacher when she walked in. Giotto's eyes widened at the sight of the girl who was smiling and talking to three other boys. He didn't bother looking at her friends since they didn't seem that important to him. Boys and girls alike stared at the group of four. Despite the fact that she was pretty, that wasn't what made Giotto like her the most. It was when she looked him in the eyes and smiled. A blush rose to his cheeks and he felt his heart flutter.
They were now in their second year and he still couldn't gather the courage to talk to her. There had been a few rare times when he thought he could go up to her, but then he changed his mind when he saw her friend, Gokudera Hayato, and her older twin brother.
Now, her twin was completely different from her. Sawada Tsunayoshi was one of the scariest people in the school, next to the Hibari brothers. Since the beginning of their names were the same, people tended to just call them Hime and Yoshi. The boy had spikey brown hair like his sister, but the difference was he had golden eyes that always seemed to be emotionless. He was calm and only seemed to smile when he was around his sister. Despite the fact that his expression never seemed to change, if anyone approached his sister, you would be able to feel the irritation coming off of the boy.
Having the twins stand side by side was definitely something strange to see. Flowers seemed to surround the girl while killer intent came off of the boy. It clashed, but neither seemed to notice. Giotto figured that was the reason they didn't really gain many friends while at school. Gokudera Hayato and Yamamoto Takeshi had been the friends she came to school with on the first day, so he assumed they had known each other for a while. The only people in school who had the guts to go up to them had been Hibari Kyoya and Sasagawa Ryohei. Some people had even said they had seen her talking to Rokudo Mukuro outside of school. How they managed to make friends with two of the most dangerous people in Namimori was a mystery to Giotto.
Returning to the story, Giotto was staring at Tsuna waiting for the next class to start. They had history next, which was Giotto's worst class. He had been somewhat surprised to find out that it was Tsunahime's best class. He was hoping that he would get the chance to talk to her today. He wasn't sure what he would say to her, but he didn't care.
Finally, the teacher walked into the room to start class. The blond reluctantly pulled his eyes away from the teen to watch his teacher. 'I wish I could just talk to her.'
"Alright class. I'm giving you all an assignment that you will work on with a partner for the next week. I will be choosing your partners so friends don't just team and slack off. Here are the groups. Gokudera Hayato and Yamamoto Takeshi. Sawada Tsunayoshi and Sasagawa Kyoko. Kensuke-"
Giotto tuned out the teacher. He didn't really care what groups the others were in and he was too busy being upset. 'I wish I could be on the same team as Hime-chan, but that probably won't happen.'
The boy started listening when he heard the brunettes name. "Sawada Tsunahime and Ieyasu Giotto. That's that last of the students. Now, I want you all to work hard. This assignment is due on Monday. Everyone get together with your partner and discuss what the subject of your project with be."
After that was said, the students started getting together. Giotto was aware of the fact that Yoshi was ignoring Kyoko and watching him. Normally he would be scared, but the blond was too excited to worry. He walked over to his partner. When he got close to her, Hime turned to him and smiled. Giotto's breath caught in his throat.
"I look forward to working with you, Ieyasu-san." It took a second for Giotto to find his voice.
"I look forward to working with you too, Sawada-san." Tsuna giggled at the boy. "You can call me Hime if you want. It will get confusing if you call me as Sawada or Tsuna since both can also be used to refer to my brother."
The blond nodded. "Then...you can call me Giotto if you want." Tsuna's brown eyes closed as she smiled. "Okay then, Giotto-kun."
'C-cute~!' Suddenly, Giotto could feel Yoshi's glare intensify. If looks could kill, the blond would be dead a thousand times over. As much as he was put off by the other boy, the blond tried to keep his focus on Tsuna. Seeing as Giotto wasn't saying anything, the holder of his affections spoke up. "If you want to we can work on the project at my house. I have a lot of books about different historic events, so we wouldn't need to worry about returning books to the library."
Swallowing the lump in his throat, Giotto replied. "S-sure. As long as it's okay with your family." Tsuna giggled.
"My mom won't mind. I think she would like to have a new face around the house." Giotto didn't miss the fact that the young girl didn't mention her brother. Before either of the two could say anything else, the bell rang signaling the end of school. The two gathered their things and began the walk to the Sawada household.
Seeing as the blond was having trouble talking, Tsuna filled the silence with stories about her friends and family. The older boy didn't mind listening to her talk, he was too busy being happy and excited.
Upon arriving at her house, Tsuna's mom came to the door. "Ah~, Tsu-chan! You made a new friend! I'm Sawada Nana, but you can call me Mama. I'll prepare some drinks and snacks for the two of you." Giotto didn't get a chance to say anything before the girl next to him started talking.
"Giotto-kun is my classmate and we are working on a project together. Do you want me to help bring the snacks up to my room?"
"There's no need. Just go start on your project. It's nice to meet you, Gio-kun."
Giotto stuttered out a hello before he was pulled up the stares into a room. He wasn't sure how Yoshi could be the way he was when his sister and mom were so kind. He looked around the room and was surprised by how few things were actually girly in the room. The brunette seemed to notice the look and found the need to answer his unspoken question.
"Growing up I didn't have any friends that were girls. I spent most time with Yoshi, then I met Hayato-kun and Takeshi-kun, so I usually spent my time playing sports with them or doing a number of other things that most girls would have found strange. Even now I have trouble understanding the things that girls like. I know it's strange bu-"
"It's not strange. I think it's cool that you can enjoy other things and you are willing to admit it." The smile he got in response to his statement had Giotto blushing all over again.
After a moment, books were pulled out and set on the table in the center of the girls bedroom. The two were thinking of things they could do for their project when the door opened. Giotto froze in his spot while Tsuna smiled happily. "Hi Yoshi, Kyoko-chan. What are you doing here?" Yoshi didn't answer, he just kept his glare fixed on the blond.
"Yoshi-kun suggested doing our project at your house. He said that if it was just two people for too long, then they would get tired of each other after a while. Do you mind?"
Tsunahime shook her head and smiled. She scooted over slightly to make room or her brother who didn't hesitate to take the seat. Giotto was starting to sweat even more while the girls in the room remained oblivious to the tension in the room.
The two groups worked for three hours, occasionally taking breaks. The girls would talk and sometimes pull the boys into their conversations, but the air between the older twin and the blond was less than friendly.
Giotto was afraid and kept sweating. He did his best to avoid eye contact, but having someone glaring at the side of your head doesn't help you ignore them. Tsunayoshi, on the other hand, was glaring at the 'idiotic boy' who dared to sit so close to his sister. Yoshi wasn't like his sister when it came to peoples feelings for him and his sister. The only reason he put up with Hayato, Takeshi, Mukuro, and Kyoya was because they were friends. They were the few people who managed to accept them with all their quirks. Giotto was not one of the people he would let near his precious imouto. He didn't trust the boy and he had a limit to the amount of people he would let close.
You see, Yoshi had a list of things that needed to be done before he would ever let anyone near his sister. The first thing a person would have to do is get permission from him. That was unlikely unless you were friends with him AND his sister or you could face him. Unfortunately, Giotto was doing neither. The second thing that would have to be done is being brave enough to hold a conversation with both he and his sister for more than 10 minutes. Seeing as the blond was too afraid to even speak to Yoshi and stuttered too much when talking to Hime, the older twin figured things weren't going well for the younger boy. Finally, he would have to respect Hime, her family, and her friends. If there was even a sign of disrespect then he (and probably Kyoya and Hayato) would end up going after him.
Yoshi was snapped out of his thoughts when his sister stood up. "Wow! We worked for a whole three hours. I'm tired. I guess we'll have to finish it later." Kyoko giggled at her friend who just leaned back and rested her head on her twins legs. After some short goodbyes made by the other two, Hime was left in the room with Yoshi.
It was silent for a few minutes before Tsunahime opened her eyes and looked at Tsunayoshi. "You don't like Giotto-kun." It wasn't a question, Yoshi noted.
"No."
"Why?"
"He was too close to you and I don't like the way he looked at you. Even though you can be oblivious, you can't tell me you didn't notice. Besides, I don't like anyone who won't look me in the eye."
The girl had to keep herself from laughing at her brothers jealousy. Ever since they were kids they had trouble making friends. When they got older, they still had trouble letting people in mostly due to the fact that they didn't want to share their dear twin. They only had each other for so long, so willingly letting someone else near them was hard. This fact was more noticeable with the older twin. Hime was better at hiding her irritation.
"Of course I noticed. I think he's nice, but I also think that he needs to be braver. Until that happens, I won't even consider him." With that said, the girl climbed into her bed while Yoshi went to his room. Their thoughts were the same as they went to sleep. 'This next week will be strange.'
The following week had been awkward. Even Kyoko had noticed the tension between the two boys. It was the final day and Giotto's nerves were worse than before. He had decided that he would ask Tsunahime to be his friend by the end of the day. He would have asked her about dating him, but decided against it. He was nervous enough just asking to be her friend, it would end up badly if he tried anything else. He figured out that he would need to be her friend before dating her and he would need to get past her brother.
They had just finished their projects and Yoshi was seeing Kyoko out when the blond breathed and walked up to the girl. "U-um, Hime-chan. I w-was wondering if you want to be my friend."
The brunette, along with her twin who was around the corner, had not expected that. "Sure. Honestly though, I would have though you were going to confess to me."
Giotto blushed when he heard that and realized that she knew. "I wanted to, but I thought that it would be better to be your friend first. We don't know each other very well, so I decided that I wanted to learn more about you first." The girl was surprised and impressed. Most others probably wouldn't have been so honest about that.
Before she could say anything, Yoshi was hugging her protectively from behind. "Don't think I'll make it easy on you, idiot boy." With a sudden burst of courage, Giotto looked right into Yoshi's eyes.
"Of course not, Yoshi-san. I still won't give up." Something flashed in Yoshi's eyes that the blond couldn't decipher. It was only halfway home when Giotto realize what just happened. The look in the older twins eyes had been approval and the same look that G often got when he was told that he couldn't do something because he was a delinquent.
Yoshi was challenging Giotto because of his sister. The blond wanted to cry when he figured out that this meant that he would continue to be tested. 'Hime-chan may be worth it, but what have I gotten myself into!?'
Sky-chan: I have finally finished it! I'm so sorry it took so long to complete. At least I'm coming out of my hiatus with these. See you next chapter.
