So, thank you everyone for your absolutely asterous reviews, and I apologise greatly for the long wait. I've just been super busy and if I'm completely honest, forgot this existed for a second. We're coming to an end, however, I may write a sequel in the upcoming future, but I'd need inspiration for that *Wink wink*. ALSO, I'M SORRY FOR ANY NON DICK/ZATANNA SHIPPERS. You'll have to deal with it.

Chapter 11- Chalant and the Speedster.

"Who's Dick, Wally?" Zatanna asked as the bioship slowly descended back into Mount Justice.

"He's erm, well…It's not too hard to figure it out now. However I am strongly against giving you all such knowledge that I- Oh look at that! We seem to be back at . What a shame." He hastily replied, changing the subject as soon as possible.

As soon as the doors opened, Barry quickly pushed Wally's bed through into the bay, and up to the infirmary. Quickly followed by the dynamic duo. The rest of the rescuees split off, the Justice League headed off to do patrols and such, all promising to return as soon as possible to check on the two young heroes, and the team all gathered outside the infirmary, beginning the long wait for news.

"A-Artemis?" Zatanna asked quietly, wrapping her arms around herself, "Are they going to be alright?"

Artemis, showing a soft spot for once, stepped forward and hugged the young girl, M'gann being quick to follow her lead.

"Of course they are, you saw how mouthy Baywatch was on the way here, and that stubborn little brat-in-a-mask will be swinging from the rafters again in no time."

Zatanna and M'gann chuckled, and Kaldur cracked a smile.

"I sure hope so guys. I sure hope so."

=============AT WHICH POINT WE SWITCH LOCATIONS YAY==========

He was falling, falling fast. His cape flew past his ears, and his bright red, white and gold costume felt tighter and tighter as he struggled to breathe. He was in the circus, his old circus. And the Joker mockingly laughed and waved down at him from the high wire, waving the yellow mask of his best friend as he got closer and closer to the ground. He tried to shout, but he couldn't. Why couldn't he move? Why is no-one helping him?

He willed his body to move, and looked over his shoulder, towards the rapidly approaching surface. There was blood, lots of blood. And he could see, as clear as the day it happened, his parents dead bodies lying spread –eagle on the ground. As he got closer, he could see their oh so familiar faces. Grinning up at him with the same twisted smile as the clown still laughing gleefully at him from above.

He remembered what was happening, and struggled and flailed in the air, desperate for something, anything, to save him. He couldn't die, not like this, not now! What about Wally? And the team?

He saw a dark black shadow appear in the stands of the circus, glaring at him from across the tent.

"Batman! Dad! Help me, please save me!"

He reached out an arm, but it was cruelly growled at. Bruce spoke with a tone full of hatred and disappointment.

"No son of mine would fail to save their friend or themselves, especially with such a weak enemy. You're not my son."

No, he thought, no this can't be real. As he got closer and closer to the ground, he let out one final scream.

And then he woke up.

Dick sat straight up in the bed he was currently in, panting and sweating profusely. He glanced around, taking in his surroundings. He was in the infirmary; Wally sat in the bed beside him, looking at him with a worried expression. And Bruce, sat on his other side in one of the uncomfortable chairs, a hand set on Dick's shoulder.

"Son, are you okay? Are you in pain? Do you need more pain meds?" He asked his voice full of concern.

Tears came to the young boy's eyes, and he flung himself towards his father, mindful of the heavy cast in his arm, and the numerous other injuries.

"Dad, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have let this happen. It's all my fault!"

Wally looked at the two with shock and hurt on his face, "Dickie, it's not your fault, how could you say that?"

"B-Because I tied you to that tree, and then he could attack us, and he did so it's all my fault."

Bruce pulled his son off him, and set him back against the bed into a more comfortable position.

Wally smirked, "And you only tied me to the tree 'cause I almost gave away your identity in front of everyone."

At this, Bruce turned to glare at the red-head. "You did what."

"It doesn't matter Bruce, they know now anyway. Plus, Wally's just an idiot."

"HEY! I'll have you know I'm the best scientist in the entire school!"

"Yeah, call me back when you have 19 mathelete trophies."

"Show off." Wally muttered.

They all sat in comfortable silence, until both boys let out a yawn.

"Get some rest you two," Bruce said, as he stood up and turned off the lights. "Barry and I will be back to check on you soon."

And with that, the caped crusader left the infirmary to go and track down the homicidal maniac that had done this to them.

=======WOO MORE LINE BREAKS=============

A few hours later, Zatanna peaked her head into the room where the two young heroes were sleeping. Quietly she walked in and took a seat next to Dick's bed. She took his hand in hers, and settled down seeing that he was alive and well (You know. Besides the injuries.). Slowly, he woke up and turned to face her, a small smirk growing on his face.

"Hey," Zatanna said quietly. "Just thought I'd come visit you."

The smirk grew, "So, now you'll hold my hand?" he said.

She playfully glared at him. "Way to ruin the moment dick."

"Was that you calling me a name or addressing me by mine?" He laughed.

"Oh hardy har you jerk."

"You love it."

"Are you sure?" She challenged.

"Oh my god," Said an awkward voice from the other bed. "Get a room!"

The two bickering teens turned to look at one another, then Wally, and proceeded to yell.

"SHUT UP WALLY."

The ginger laughed hysterically, "Aww, look at you two lovebirds."

"WE'RE NOT LOVEBIRDS." Said two exclaimed.

"Oh come on," He said, "It's like you two finish each other's-"

Dick was quick to throw a pillow at his best friend, "If you say sandwiches I will get out of this bed and kill you myself."

"Dude. Not cool."

Zatanna stood up from her seat, "I'm gonna go now, tell the other's you two are you're old annoying selves."

She quickly kissed Dick on the forehead, whacked Wally upside of his head, and left the room.

Wally grinned at his friend, "Dude, get som-"

Another pillow hit him in the face mid-sentence. And he huffed at Dick. "Fine be like that mini bats."

They both huddled back into the uncomfortable hospital beds, and proceeded to just sit in silence for a few minutes until.

"Hey Wally." A small voice said. "Will you pass me back my pillow?"
