A/N: I know that all of you are so very tired of hearing this from me, but I am so sorry for waiting two and a half years to update again. Believe it or not, things have gotten worse these past two years. In October 2014, I lost my younger sister. Then last year I lost my grandmother in May, and then my father in November. So, it's been very hard for me. But I've revised all previous chapters and made them better (hopefully). And now, here is final chapter of Fall.

Ch 17

Jane and Maura walked hand in hand to the front door of the Rizzoli Residence. Jane took in a deep breath and squeezed Maura's hand as she hoped the door and stepped inside. The warm air instantly enveloped them and Jane sighed contently. She looked to Maura and gave her a small smile, which Maura returned nervously. It was safe to say that Maura was just as nervous about this talk as Jane was. Jane swallowed thickly as she led them both towards the kitchen.

As Jane had expected, Angela was sitting at the kitchen table, nursing a cup of coffee. Jane let out a small cough to get her mother's attention.

Angela looked up and smiled meekly at the girls. "Hey Janie, Maura. I made some coffee and hot cocoa if you want some." Angela offered.

Jane quickly shook her head. "We're good thanks. What did you want to talk about?" Jane asked, wanting to cut to the chase and not have to deal with the small talk. It wasn't really her thing.

Angela nodded her head and motioned towards the seats across from her. "You two should sit down then."

Jane sighed and sat in the seat opposite her mother and Maura sat next to her. "Where's everyone else at?"

"Your father, Frankie, and Tommy went down to the police station." Angela replied as she stared into her coffee cup.

Jane raised an eyebrow. "Why are they at the police station?"

Angela took a sip of her coffee before lifting her eyes to meet Janes expectant ones. "Tommy told us who it was that assaulted him, so they're going down to take out a police report."

Jane shook her head in surprise. "Wait what? Who did it?"

"It was Craig." Angela answered in a distant tone. "I should've known it was him. I mean, why else would Tommy have just left like he did that day when everything happened? I knew that he was upset and I knew that he would want to hurt someone, I guess I just didn't really expect him to go after Craig."

Jane sat there for a moment to let her mothers words process in her brain.

Maura was next to speak. "So, Craig did all of that to Tommy?"

Angela shook her head. "No. Apparently, it was Craig and a bunch of his friends. Tommy convinced one of the boys to turn Craig in as well, so that way it won't just be one person's word against another's.

Maura nodded and squeezed Jane's hand to try to bring her back to the present. She knew that Jane was probably lost in thought at the moment. She couldn't quite blame her.

Jane blinked several times before casting a glance at Maura then looked back at her mother. "So… they're pressing charges against him?" Jane asked in a hushed tone.

"Yes. Your father is talking with a lawyer friend of his and the lawyer seems to think that the charges will stick. So, that's at least good news." Angela replied.

Jane nodded and took in another deep breath. "So, is that all that you wanted to talk about, ma?"

Angela pursed her lips and shook her head. "No, actually, there was something else I wanted to talk to you about"

"And that would be?" Jane questioned with a roll of her eyes. It was probably just more reasons why they just had to move to Dallas. Jane felt Maura squeeze her hand once more and she reminded herself that she needed to calm down. Being harsh with her mother would not earn her any brownie points.

"I wanted to talk to you about the moving situation."

I knew it. Jane thought to herself. Why would it be anything else? "Mmkay. What about it?" Jane asked in a bored tone.

Angela sighed and fidgeted with her coffee mug. "Well, your father and I talked about it and, after much deliberation, we decided that… Maybe it would be best if he went to Dallas, and I stayed here with you kids."

Wait what? "What?" Jane and Maura asked in unison.

Angela smiled lightly and sipped her coffee slowly. She made a disgusted face at the lukewarm taste. "We decided that he should move to Dallas to work on his-self. And that I should stay here to take care of you and your brothers. We agreed to a trial separation for a while."

Jane blinked slowly to let the information process again. Was this really happening? Or was it a dream? Jane pinched herself in her arm and then looked confused when she didn't feel any pain.

"Ouch!" Maura exclaimed and then rubbed her forearm.

Well, that would be why Jane didn't feel any pain then. "Sorry, I uh… wasn't sure if I was dreaming all of this or not. So…. We're not moving?" Jane asked in a hopeful tone.

Angela shook her head with a warm smile. "I told him about you girls and we both realized we didn't want to separate you two. I mean, I know you're both young and everything, but these are the times in your lives that you're supposed to enjoy with those you love. And you two have found love with one another. Will it last forever? Well, I'm confident that it will, but you never know. All I and your father know is that we don't want to be the ones standing in the way of it. Also, your father and I need some time apart. Maybe then, we can finally begin to heal and get better; truly get better."

Jane bit her bottom lip before breaking out into a large smile. "Thank you, guys, so much! You all have no idea this means to both of us!" Jane squeezed Maura's hand and noticed that she was smiling as well.

"We just want you both to be happy. And I know that this will definitely aid in your happiness." Angela smiled at them.

Jane got up and enveloped her mother in a warm hug. "Really, thank you ma. It means a lot to me."

"Well it's for your father and I too, honey. We both need this separation. But you're still very welcome." Angela squeezed Jane and held her tight. "I love you Janie."

"I love you too ma."

… … … … Two Years Later … … … …

Jane lazily ran her fingers through Maura's blonde hair as she strained to keep her eyes open to watch the last Star Wars movie. It's not that the movie was boring, because it wasn't at all, but they'd been up since bright and early that morning. After they went for their morning run, ate some breakfast, and showered, they decided to watch all the Star Wars movies together. They wanted to catch up on them all so that way when The Last Jedi came out on Christmas, they'd be able to watch it together.

Jane sighed contently and wrapped her arms tighter around Maura's torso. The past two years had been great for them. Frank moving to Dallas turned out to be a permanent stay; he had found someone new and claimed to be 'in love.' Much to Jane's surprise, Angela didn't let it bother her as much as Jane thought it would. Angela kept her head high and moved on with her life. Even now, she was seeing someone new. A man by the name of Sean Cavanaugh. He was about the same age as Angela, and he treated her right, so that was all Jane cared about. Frankie and Tommy seemed to like him as well. He didn't treat them like he was their father, but he gave them advice when they asked for it.

Frankie started dating this one girl named Sara that was nice, and she was smart. Plus, she genuinely seemed to like him, unlike the last girl that Frankie dated. Frankie seemed happy enough, so that made Jane happy.

Tommy was doing much better; hanging with a better crowd now. The charges that Tommy had brought up against Craig landed Craig in jail with a sentence of ten to fifteen years. Jane had even gotten the courage to file some charges of her own against him; Tanya stood by her side when she went to testify, and even testified herself. It was easier to go through with Maura being there for her every step of the way.

Jane smiled to herself as she thought about Maura. She was her rock; the steady hand that guided her in the darkest of times. Jane would be forever thankful to have her in her life. Jane placed a soft kiss on the side of Maura's head before drifting off into a deep sleep, with dreams of her and Maura and their future together.

… … … … … THE END … … … …

A/N: So, I hope that you all really enjoyed this story! I know that I enjoyed writing it. I'm sorry that it took me so long to finally finish it.
