Hello again. I'm sorry it's been so long. I've had a lot on my plate with work and helping with my niece and nephew. Plus I'm starting to rewrite/reedit some of my stories and it's taking a while to do.

I know some of you were anxious for an update to this story, so I'm glad to be able to upload a new chapter. You'll also be happy to know that I've decided on a very good direction for the plot to go in. You will be pleasantly surprised as the plot progresses.

I'm anxious to hear what everyone thinks of this chapter. Let Me know how you like it.

A Magical Evening

Vernon was dazed and terrified as he was pressed painfully against the wall. The wind was knocked was knocked from his lungs by the force of the impact. He stammered incoherently at Samantha.

Aunt Marge screamed at seeing her brother thrown across the room.

"What are you doing to him!? Let him go!" Petunia yelled as her son clutched onto her in fear.

Harry looked on in shock at the slender blonde woman holding his great beast of an uncle against the wall without even touching him.

"It serves him right, the brute!" Petunia screamed when she turned to see a red haired, flamboyantly dressed woman had appeared in her dining room.

Darrin barely spared his mother-in-law a glance as he clutched his stomach, coughing from being hit.

"S-Sam," he said, cautiously touching her shoulder. "Let him down, honey. You don't wanna do anything you'll regret."

Samantha dropped her arm. Vernon dropped to the floor, and then scrambled back against the wall, cowering away from Samantha. Petunia and Dudley rushed to his side, shaking in fear. Marge just stared, dumbfounded and bleary-eyed.

"I'm sorry, Darrin," said Samantha, not taking her glaring eyes off Vernon, "I had to."

"You don't have to be sorry, Sam," he said, giving her a slight hug, "I wouldn't have expected anything less from you."

"If you won't do it, then I will," Endora raised her hand to cast a spell, causing Petunia to scream again and the Dursleys to clutch onto each other even tighter.

"No, mother, don't be rash."

Endora stared at her daughter in surprise before lowering her arm. "Samantha, this can't go unpunished."

Samantha glared at the large man again before speaking. "The four of you, go sit in the living room while we figure out what to do with you."

Even when frightened, Vernon didn't like being bossed around. Hearing Samantha give him an order brought back some of his nerve. "Now wait just a minute. You freaks can't come in here…"

"MOVE!" They all flinched and stood up to move as quickly as they could into the sitting room.

When they were out of the room, Samantha waved her hand, causing the door to slam shut behind them. There came a loud yelp from the other side.

"Now, really, Samantha," said Endora, "You know that I've never been overly fond of other peoples' children. But what that man did was just appalling."

Samantha ignored her. She turned around and knelt down in front of Harry. He had a bruise forming on his right cheekbone and his nose was bleeding slightly. She reached for one of the dinner napkins that had fallen to the floor, and gently dabbed at the blood. "Are you alright?"

"Y-ye…" Harry tried to speak, but his eyes watered and he clutched his sore throat.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, sweetie. Darrin, fetch him a glass of water." Darrin moved to get a glass out of one of the cabinets and started filling it in the sink. "I'm afraid my knowledge of healing magic isn't very extensive. Mother, could you call Dr. Bombay?"

"Certainly," the older witch answered. She placed both index fingers to her temple and closed her eyes. "Dr. Bombay, come right away."

It took a moment for a response. Then out of nowhere, an airy female voice said, "Dr. Bombay is with a patient at this time. He will answer your call as soon as possible."

"Hmf!" said Endora, mumbling something like, "never around when you need them."

Darrin and Harry both looked around to see where the voice had come from.

"Should we take him to the hospital?" asked Darrin as he handed the glass of water to the boy.

"N-no… I'm fine, really," said Harry, hoarse, after taking a gulp of the water. "It's just a sore throat."

"We need to at least file a report with the police," said Darrin.

"No, please… we don't have to do that."

"But, Harry, he attacked you," said Samantha. "Has he done anything like that before?"

"No," said Harry, avoiding eye contact. "He usually just threatens me, or locks me in my room."

Darrin shook his head, "He's the one that needs to be locked up."

"No, no… nobody else can know. It's my fault anyway," he said quickly.

"Stop talking like that," Samantha said firmly, "There is nothing you could've done for him to treat you that way."

"But he wouldn't have done it if I hadn't lost control," Harry started shaking.

"What're you talking about?" asked Darrin.

"It's just they started talking about my parents. They can insult me all they want; I can handle it. But they started talking about my parents. It made me so angry, my magic flared up and I couldn't keep it in."

Darrin's eyes widened, "You mean you're a w…"

"Darrin, be quiet," said Samantha. She turned Harry's chin up so that he was looking at her.

"Harry, you've done nothing wrong. You see, I'm a witch. I can do magic too."

Harry chuckled slightly. "I figured that when you were tossing my uncle around like a football."

Samantha smiled. "Sometimes things happen when you're young. You get angry, or scared, and you act instinctively with your magic. It was him that made a conscious decision to attack you. What you did was an accident."

"But now I'll be expelled for doing magic outside of school."

Samantha made a shushing gesture. "Don't worry any more about it tonight. If your school has a problem with the way things happened tonight, they'll have to look at all the parties involved. If they think they're going to expel you after they have all the facts, then they'll hear from me."

"Now go upstairs and wash your face. Then wait in your room while we talk to your aunt and uncle. I don't want you to hear what I have to say to them," she spoke with a frown.

"Thank you, Mrs. Stevens," said Harry.

Darrin gave the boy a pat on the shoulder. "Try not to talk too much until your throat is better."

Harry nodded and left the kitchen.

"He's a good kid," said Darrin.

Samantha smiled at her husband. "I hate how he's been treated all of these years by his own family."

"Speaking of which, what are we to do with Vermin, Petulance and the other two?" asked Endora.

"Follow me," said Samantha, walking out of the kitchen and into the living room.

The four Dursleys were crowded on the sofa, awaiting the witches. Petunia was squished in between her son and husband. Vernon was seething in barely concealed anger, his face blotched red and purple. Dudley whimpered at his mother's side and Marge just looked dumbfounded at the events of the evening.

"Dudley, go up to your room while we talk to your parents."

The large boy tripped over himself twice in his haste to obey the witch's order, holding his bottom until his door slammed shut.

"Now I haven't known any of you very long, but in the few hours since I arrived this evening, you've shown yourselves to be among the most ill-mannered, narrow-minded bigots that I've ever had the displeasure to become acquainted with."

"How dare you insult me in my own house!" cried Vernon. He fell silent when Samantha shot him a glare.

"Now I was willing to overlook your faults because you were Darrin's family. But then I saw the way you treated Harry. If he hadn't smacked you with the table there was a good chance I'd have lost my temper and sent you to the dark side of the moon."

Vernon smirked. "Bollocks. You might be able to do a lot with your freaky little powers, but even I know you can't send someone to the moon."

Samantha stared at him. "Look out the window."

Vernon's face slackened as he stood up and walked to the window. He pulled the curtain open slightly and he went deathly pale.

"Argh!" he screamed and tumbled backward away from the window.
