Love Returns from Training

N POV

"Is it something I can ask about?" The blonde looked up, hopeful from the ground before standing back up. He just got back and his TenTen was already upset or uncomfortable? That just wouldn't do. "What was the mission to make it uncomfortable?" He asked to the answering silence assuming it was okay.

"I asked her out on a date for when we got back to the village. She obviously said no, sadly." Kiba said as he walked away, patting his thigh for Akamaru to follow him. After he was far enough away, Naruto looked down at the girl beside him.

"Is that all that happened Ten-chan? Did he do something besides ask you out?" For once the always sure of her self kunoichi looked down, shy and blushing. The blonde knew something was off but wasn't sure what and her reaction made him not want to question it any further but also made him want to pound the Inuzaka's face in. Not that anyone would really realize it but there was still a bitter feeling between the dog tamer and the jinchuriki. It bothered Naruto that no matter how much he tried, Kiba always resented him for something. It was made clear that when at least half of the resentment faded when Naruto told Hinata he didn't like her the way she was obsessed with him that Kiba had also liked her and Naruto got all her attention. Now it seems that Kiba wants TenTen since it seems things have run their course between Kiba and the shy Huyga. It was a shame, really. The blonde fox had no intentions of ever letting TenTen go. He was going to be by her side for as long as she would have him and he hoped that would be a very long time.

T POV

"H-He tried to kiss me at the end of the mission. When I rejected him again he went off back to the village alone leaving me with Kakashi- and Sakura-san. He was very angry. Turned in his report and was back in the Inuzaka compound before we even had to chance to get to the Hokage Tower. I'm sorry, Naruto." She turned away from her companion and kept looking at her feet as if they had the answers to everything in the universe. The boy behind her pulled her into his arms and stooped so he could rest his chin on her shoulder while whispering sweet words in her ear.

"It's fine, Tennie. I'm not mad at you. How could I be? It wasn't you fault. He was being stupid. Though I don't blame him. Now that I've kissed you, I wouldn't mind doing it again. If you'll allow it, that is." He'd barely gotten the words out before she turned in his grasp and kissed him full on the lips in a searing kiss that nearly knocked him on his ass. It had to have been funny for an outsider to see, being as he rocked back on his heels before his mind processed what happened and he caught both of them, barely keeping them standing.

When they broke away for air, Naruto leaned his forehead on hers and just stared into her clouded, teary eyes for a moment thinking how beautiful she was without her hair up in the incessant buns she always has them in. He loved knowing that the flushed, red-cheeked, unfocused look on her face was from his kissed alone and that no one else would get that result. No one else COULD get that result. Naruto wouldn't allow it. For once, someone was glad for Rock Lee and Might Gai's antics about keeping their dear TenTen pure in both mind and body, and Neji's actions weren't helping their efforts because Naruto and TenTen had both done almost everything you could while keeping every article of clothing on. Neither were ready for that yet but neither wanted anyone besides each other to ever see them like that, so even before they knew about each other's feelings they were secretly expressing their own.

"Wanna get some Ichiraku's? I know after so long, you must miss good ramen and not that instant shit you always eat on missions. My treat since you just got back." TenTen smiled up at him and hoped he'd say yes. "Then after we eat, we can go see everyone. Get you back into the groove of being in the village. Everyone misses you. Hell, even when Sasuke came back, of his own power might I add, the first thing he did was ask where you were. That pissed Sakura off all to hell and back but everyone else thought it was hilarious. Especially Ino. You know, they still call each other 'pig face' and 'billboard brow'. And Lee is still 'bushy brow'. Not much has changed since you left. Umm, We all became Jonin. Though I guess that means you're still technically a genin, huh? Sorry, I'm babbling, aren't I? I'll shut up now, I swear."

"No, no. Don't stop talking. I want to hear how everyone's been. I've always thought your babbling was cute anyways. But what's this about Sasuke being back? I thought he said he was never coming back to the village." It had been made plain as day when the wayward Uchiha left that he had no intentions of coming back here so, why come while Naruto was gone? Did he have a secret plan? Want to go after the one's Naruto loved? Or was for once his intentions were honorable and he just wanted to come back to his home?

"Yeah, well, he says he wanted to go where he knows and this is where he knows. Something about finding out why his brother killed their family and why Itachi left Sasuke alive. He just wanted to go somewhere safe and I guess that's here. He hasn't really left the Uchiha compound since he got back. Just a few missions here and there to stick to the upkeep and get food. You can go seem him if you want? We can rain check lunch anytime. He seems like he really does miss you. He may not show it but he valued your friendship more than anything and after finding out what he did I think he needs a friend right about now, don't you?"

Naruto thought about it for a minute and came to a conclusion. "Let's invite him to lunch with us? It'll be fun, right? Please, Tennie?" He started bouncing around, and smiling that same goofy grin that made her fall in love with him in the first place. It was nice to see someone this excited to see her cousin for once. She hadn't made it known that she was related to the brooding Uchiha yet, but she planned to tell NAruto first. As of right now, the only ones who knew were Tsunade and the cousins themselves. IT was just easier that way for now.

Okay, so, my update was a little sooner than I'd planned it to be. But that's okay. I got bored of trying to find the book so this is straight of the top of my head. Hope you like it. R & R. Let me know if there's any mistakes. I know its short bbut this chapter was short notice.
