3 weeks later

"Congratulations! You guys are done." Kakashi poofed away as Naruto fell face first into the ground fast asleep.

Kakashi had conveniently forgotten to mentioned that when they were finally given 8 hours of sleep, he would wake them at least 9 times throughout the night with multiple sharp objects being thrown at them.

Sasuke sat down next to his sleeping comrade. He too was tired. The chunin exams started the day after tomorrow and he needed to rest. He looked up at Sakura and saw that she was dripping with sweat and breathing heavily, just like him. Even though she had dark bags under her eyes, cracked lips, bruises, cuts, and unwashed hair in his eyes she looked astounding. Although he wouldn't admit it, she looked so human and yet so untouchable. And when she turned around and gave him a tiny smile his heart leaped.

"Hn"

"I'm going home."

She then started to walk away, Sasuke was going to walk her home but when he looked at Naruto. He sighed and went to pick him up. He planned to go home, shower, eat and sleep his 9 hours.

Chunin exams

"-if you fail this question you will not be allowed to retake the exam. If your teammate leaves stand up and leave with him or her, and you can take this exam next year."

You could see sweat gathering on the foreheads of those in the room, in what used to be a cold room. A girl in the back slowly stood up.

"I-sorry!"she runs out of room, a boy in the front mummered a few insults and got up to leave the room.

A couple more followed.

"I will never give up! I will keep trying so you" Naruto stood ontop of his chair "hit me with the hardest question you have and I will not back down."

'Idiot.'

'You better not be making a mistake dobe.'

"You all pass-" he's rudely interrupted by a ninja crashing in through the window. The genin just look up and they see a woman with purple hair landing as the shattered glass hits the floor.

"You still have this many, you're getting soft old man. You imbeciles get up and follow me it's time to cut your numbers in half."

"-get the two scrolls to the building. There are no other rules. And if you could do me a favor, kill each other." Says the ponytail haired ninja as she laughs with the voice a that sends chills down your spine.

The forest wasquiet. Too quiet iin Sakura's opinion. It made Sakura uncomfortable, it was like being in a false blanket of peace. She'd been so caught up in her head she was surprised when Sasuke suddenly stopped her.

"Scan the area." he said.

And she does, she was able to feel the chakra of another team nearby. Weak. Stopping to chit chat and laugh was her first thought.

'Idiots this isn't a game.'

"Formation Q. Back up plan..M20." And she disappeared to her position, Sasuke along with her.

Naruto made twenty clones and they all attacked the unsuspecting team, who stood up rapidly and tried to defend however they didn't notice, Sasuke working on a genjutsu. One Naruto made fake hand seals and mud started to trap the enemy teamand too busy trying get out of the mud and defend themselves from the Naruto clones, they didn't notice Sakura covered in a simple invisible genjutsu sneak up behind them and knock them out one by one. The male with long blond pony tails had the scroll Heaven scrolls. Even though them already had a Heaven scroll Sakura put it in her bag. They all stood tall and nodded. Then they ran through the trees once more to find an Earth scroll.

"Man, I feel like I'm in a movie! We look so cool all hah! And Wah! and Yah! And we totally kicked ass!" said Naruto with a ridiculous grin. Sasuke wanted to facepalm and Sakura only chuckled quietly.

"Stop" Sakura's voice rings throughout the forest. " Come out."

"Well, well, well, and here I thought I could follow you for a while longer" A women with long black hair move into view and while Sasuke and Naruto had not noticed her they said nothing and hid their surprised face.

"You're out number surrender your scroll and you can leave with all your limbs intact." Said Sasuke

"Tss, tss, tss, you really shouldn't underestimate your opponent Sasuke-kun."

Naruto started to feel the killing intent and shivered, he did not want to be scared he was going to be the next Hokage, he needed to be better!

He ran at the girl thinking they didn't need a plan that there was no way his team could lose to one genin from rain.

Sasuke saw his teammate run and one second Naruto was yelling and the next a large snake had replaced his image and started to slither away he was about to go after him until he noticed that Sakura had not moved her line of sight off the black-haired girl to look at Naruto. At that moment Sasuke knew he was facing a dangerous opponent if Sakura was scared (or at least somewhat scared) of this girl.

"Looks like you are a smart girl... Could you be... no I heard they killed her...in any case you're not my concern." The yellow-eyed girl grinned disturbingly

All the sudden a big blast was heard and Naruto yelled out in pain, Sakura was torn, she knew this girl was strong but she couldn't just let Naruto get hurt or worse, die. No she could not and would not let someone dear to her die. She pulled out her wires that were dipped in solid oil and sank in the tree the girl was on The girl jumped to a different branch and Sakura trapped her.

"Sasuke fire!" Before she had even said his name he was already creating a big fire and sending it towards the girl. Sakura jumped down to Naruto's fight and sent wind slices towards the snake effectively detaching the snake's head from it's body. Naruto was able to climb out covered in disgusting stomach parts and snake fluids.

"How the hell can a snake not die from an explosion in it's stomach?" He asked and was about to laugh went a sinister laugh echoed from the trees.

"You are and interesting little girl!" Sakura looked up and noticed that the "girl" had somehow shed its skin and revealed to be a guy. His neck stretch out and before Sakura could do anything Sasuke was being bitten, He yelled out in pain and fell to his knees clutching his neck.

Naruto's eyes grew red and he went after the crossed dresser. The man grab him by the neck and touched the kyuubi seal, Sakura's eyes blazed.

"I'm Orochimaru my dear and your dear Sasuke-kun will search for me and will find me...away from you."

Orochimaru is set on fire and he yells out in pain he, glares at Sakura " You are a Yukihara! You're not dead, join me I will teach you things you can not even being to imagine!" The fires stops.

"Me? Join you? An old man who is only afraid of death?" She glares at him, her response is obvious. Orochimaru anger flares and as he opens his mouth his pain receptors electrifie. He's eyes move all over and then Sasuke screams out. The girl hesitates for a second and Orochimaru has her by the neck, His tongue licks her face.

"You my dear have made an enemy out of the worse person." She spits at him. And while he feels anger, he lets her go, he can feel Anko apporaching and fast. If he wants all his plans moved into action he must flee. He looks down at Sakura. "Till next time my dear." And disappears. Sakura can not fathom why he let her leave but she refused to take any chance in him changing his mind. She made two clones and ran. From branch to branch with her family. She wanted to cry but her will to keep going and the adrenaline to keep moving didn't let a single tear drop.

Sakura forced the bottom of a thick tree to have a cave like appearance. Her mind was able to drop the boys on to the flour but when the Sannin slammed the against the tree, the tree cut into her whole back plus she was bleeding internally and she was hungry. Unfortunately for her it wasn't the hunger that could be satisfied with food. She wanted to kill, luckily she knew she shouldn't which meant she was in control. She jumped into a freezing cold river and was able to move back to her own mind set. She went back to her boys and set a couple traps. She hears a team approach her "cave". They are the sound team. She was in no state to fight, hurt, unable to concentrate and with a short leash on her blood lust. The guy disable her traps and specks.

"Lost in the woods little girl?"

"Her teammates are down, just kill her." Said the girl in the background.

"Give me the scroll." The mummy guy saids.

Sakura glares. She stands her ground in front of the cave. He moves first. And as he throws the first punch she dodge to the right. She notices the device on his arms a second too late. Her head feels like it is exploding. Her pulse increases and she can feel her forearm seal being to ach, just yearning to release her power and show this guys just how pathetic they are. She stops and realizes she had just been punched in the gut by the black hair guy, whom is named Zaku if Sakura heard the girl correctly.

"Yoshi!" Sakura can faintly hear and see Lee. She remembers that he had declared his love for her at some point during the exam.

What is he doing here? Does he also want my scroll? She soon realizes how wrong she is when he stands in front of her to block an attack. She wants to tell him to move out of the way. The mummy guy has a strong weapon. But she can't. The girl grabs her by her hair and punches her sending her a few feet away her head hits the tree, and she looks at the green stumbling. She wants to thank him but he can't win.

The tree was comforting her and she can start to blink away the blurriness. She's no longer on her back but on all her fours. She looks up, her left ear can hear people fighting. She stands up only to see Choji being thrown to the side and Kin holding a kunai to her neck. The mummy laughs, Dosu looks a little nervous. Sakura knows Ino can't kill her without killing herself so she moves and jumps on Zaku's back stabbing the kunai through his arm. Ino is knocked back to her body as Dosu attacks her body and Shikamaru. Kin catches up and joins Dosu. As Sakura gets Zaku off her body. Neji appears in the trees and quickly analyzes the situation. Noticing that Sakura most likely has a concussion.

"This is not my fight but this is my teammate and I will be taking him with me." He promptly moves to the ground and back to the branches with Lee on his shoulder. He looks back once and leaves.

Ino and Shikamaru are losing, Sakura is punched multiple times when all of the sudden Sasuke appears with nasty purple and black markings all over his body.

"Who hurt Sakura?WHO!?" Dosu smirkes and in a matter of second he is screaming Sasuke had amputated him ripping of his shoulder. As he moves to do more Sakura hugs him from behind. She takes a hold of his hand a squeezes as hard as she can.

"Stop." And he does. Dosu has grabbed his team and put them on is back.

"Here is our earth scroll. Take it." And he disappears.

Sakura smiles at Ino and says thank you.

Naruto had woken up and the two teams had departed. Naruto made a fuss about not being able to help in getting the second scroll. But he eventually calmed down. As they were heading toward the tower. A certain grey haired fellow appeared in front of them.

"Hello little guys! How are you?" He waved

"We're great making our way to the tower and you?" Naruto had stopped walking but Sakura had continued. "You know, I know short cut." Sasuke turned around and he saw that Sakura kept walking.

"This every team for themselves. And frankly I don't like you. So no."

"Sakura-chan he's not a bad guy and I'm sure he already has his scrolls...right, Kabuto?"

"He's right, I do I'm only going back to my team who is waiting for me at the tower."

"Sakura, you'd be dumb not to take advantage."

Sakura knew she was the odd number out so she quietly followed.

"We're in an illusion." said Sakura "We've walked in circles."

All of the sudden clones pop out of the ground and there is an inch of water that surfaces.

Sasuke, Kabuto, and Naruto are all fighting but Sakura headaches was getting worse. She summon a bolt of lightning and set all the clones into flames. Although they only popped out of existence. She then fainted.

"Looks like somebody overworked themselves out there...Sakura-chan...Wakey wakey."

Sakura awoke and saw Kakashi leaning against the wall with his orange book in his hand.

"Glad you woke up... however do you feel up to fighting?"

Apparently while she had slept, the preliminaries had started, in order to get more people out of the competition.

"Give me a quick 5 minute shower and I'll be ready."

"Sakura-chan! You're awake, you've missed out on SO much!" Naruto recapped every fight. He had won against Kiba, Hinata had been close to winning but that 'Bastard Neji'needed to be taught a lesson. That fan girl had beaten the girl with the buns, and Gaara was going to fight his brother but had forfeited, Ino and Shikamaru had fought and of course Ino had lost, a creepy guy with bandages had also passed and Sasuke had just won his battle.

"Are you going to fight, Sakura?' Asked Sasuke as he saw the names.

Sakura and Lee

Sakura looked a the screen and then she looked at Sasuke and said

"I can't lose to you and Naruto. We are all going to get this promotion." Sasuke smirked and Naruto cheered her on. Kakashi could only wonder how this match would end. A little birdie had told him a bit earlier that Lee was taught to open certain gates. And if he didn't want to lose, Kakashi knew he would open them. Needless to say he was worried about Sakura and angry at the stupidity the teacher had exhibited in his judgment.
