"Cal." She gulped to catch her breath and stocked in her movements. The winter air was a harsh feeling in her lungs. He stopped and turned around to face her. For a moment their eyes met and she read the wish in his for the need to get away from where they were right now as soon as possible. To leave this place and the memories with it. And to be truthful, so did she.

Gillian's hand reached out for his, to show him he should wait, that she wanted to come with him. But she felt resistance as his body turned away from her and his eyebrows furrored.

Her heart stuck. "I just wanted to. To see if you're okay?"

No words left his mouth and she watched him for a moment. How so many emotions passed over his features. She watched, as his face showed a micro- expression of disgust, or was it worry? She couldn't tell, her view was getting blurry at the sudden thought, that she was the reason behind this. She couldn't think straight, as her heart began to race. Was it the best to leave him alone now? Was it the best for her, too? Maybe he didn't want to see her anymore? Maybe it was the best to go.

And she decided to leave him alone, as his eyes began to darken. "Alright." Her voice was small, so small in contrast to what his body showed. For a second she was angry about herself, for giving away her hurt, but why to bother if he didn't care?

Her hand slipped down over his hot skin to fall against her side, to rest there on it's own.

What she didn't knew was that his brain couldn't understand why he needed her so much in this moment. She saw disgust, but he was just confused.
