When I wake up the next morning, it's overcast and rainy. A good day to plan a trip home. If I could, I'd leave today.

I get up and go downstairs. Ethan and Benny are passed out on the couch, the TV still on.

I walk into the kitchen and look at the clock on the microwave. 6:55AM. I probably should've gone back to sleep, but I was wide awake. I go back up the stairs, to my room and pick up my phone off the nightstand and call my mom. It was a bit early, but she'd be up. She usually got up around five to go to the gym.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

"Hello?" my mom answers

"Hey, mom," I say.

"Hey sweetheart," she greets me. "I can't believe you're up this early. It's not even eight," she chuckles.

"Yeah, well, I couldn't sleep," I admit.

"I'm sorry, honey."

"It's fine. I think I'm coming home today."

"Why so early?" she asks, concerned. "Did something happen?"

"No, nothing happened," I lie. "I just miss you and dad."

"Have you talked to your aunt and uncle about this?"

"No, I plan on doing that when they get up."

"Okay," she replies. "Just call me and let me know."

"I will," I promise. "I love you, mom."

"I love you, too," she says.

"Bye," I say.

"Goodbye sweetheart. I can't wait to see you," she hangs up.

I finish packing my bag, from where I left off yesterday, grateful that I could have a few minutes to myself to think.

Hopefully once I got out of Whitechapel, all my problems would disappear. The drawback was that I knew they weren't. Jesse was still out there, probably plotting revenge against me because I got away. I was surprised that he hadn't come looking for me last night.

According to Ethan, Jesse had thrown them out of the house and threatened them that if they came back for me, he would kill them. I can only imagine the rage on Jesse's face when he realized I was gone. I started to laugh because of the image in my head.

There was a knock on the door. "Come in," I say.

The door opens and I turn around and see Ethan closing the door behind him.

"Good morning," he says.

"'Morning," I reply.

"I guess that you're gonna try to leave today?"

"That's the plan."

I sensed that he wanted to say more, but didn't know how to broach the subject.

"Just say what you came in here to say," I say, getting to the point.

"You and Benny…" he trails off. "How long has that been going on?"

"I guess since the car ride home last night," I confess. "I realized that I've always liked him and that he might actually like me too."

"Oh."

"Have you talked to him yet?" I look at Ethan. "About you catching us kissing?"

"I tried," Ethan admits. "But he kept changing the subject when I asked. I think he was embarrassed and felt guilty."

"Why would he feel guilty?" I ask, surprised. "All we did was kiss."

"I think he would feel guilty because you're my cousin and he didn't ask me if it was okay to date you."

"Do you mind?" I ask. "I mean, you don't care if we go out, do you?'

"I guess I could get used to the idea," Ethan admits. "You guys don't have to have my blessing to date."

"You might want to tell him that."

"I will," he promises. "After he wakes up."

I nod and smile. "Thanks," I say.

"For what?" Ethan asks.

"For not being all big brother like and flipping out when you caught us kissing."

"I did not flip out!" Ethan defends. "I was just surprised."

"Surprised to find us kissing," I ask. "Or surprised that it didn't happen sooner?"

"Probably both," he admits.

I smile. He knew all along, I just realized. He knew there was something under the surface with me and Benny. All those holidays with me bickering with Benny. Ethan knew. All the signs were there.

"Well," Ethan turns to go. "I'm gonna let you finish packing."

"I'm almost done," I say. "So I'll be down in a few."

He nods and closes the door.

A few hours later, I was on the sidewalk saying goodbye to everyone. A cab was waiting to take me to the train station.

"I'm going to miss you, honey," says Aunt Samantha.

"I'll miss you, too," I say. "Thank you for letting me visit for the summer." I look at Aunt Samantha and Uncle Ross.

I look down at Jane. "I'll miss you too," I say. She nods her head and gives me a hug. I look over at Ethan. "It was fun hanging out with you, cuz."

"It was fun hanging out with you too, cuz." Ethan smiles and gives me a hug.

Next was Benny. I give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Have you talked to Ethan yet?" I ask, looking at both of them.

"Um…no…" said Benny. The way he said it, sounded like he was trying to avoid the subject all together.

"Benny, I don't care if you two date," says Ethan.

Benny looks down at me and then back at Ethan. "Are you serious?" he asks.

"Yep," I say, excited. "We talked earlier, and he said that we didn't need his blessing to date. Which reminds me…" I pull out a piece of paper from my pocket and hand it to Benny.

"What's this?" he asks.

"My number," I smile. "Call or text me sometime."

Out of nowhere, Rory appears. "Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy. But here's my number, so call me maybe-" he starts singing.

"Rory, shut up!" everyone yells.

"Jeez. Touchy, touchy," says Rory.

I shake my head and climb in the cab, saying my final goodbyes and giving everyone one last hug.

"Where to?" the cabbie asks.

"The Whitechapel train station, please," I say.

"You got it," he says.

I turn around and wave out of the rear window to everyone. When they're out of sight, I turn back around and lean into the seat, happy to be going home. I was also relieved that I was hopefully leaving all of my problems behind.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. I pulled it out. One new message. Probably Benny.

The text read: "I'm not quite done with you yet."

It wasn't from Benny, it was from Jesse.

I do not own the song that Rory was singing. It's Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. I also do not own My Babysitter's a Vampire
